      Keep near a window...don't put in direct sunlight and keep plant out at night so it can get a cool fresh air

    Sir, I also have a big pot of snake plants but it's in a 16 inch terracotta pot! You are growing snake plants in plastic pots so my question is that have you found any difficulty in growing snake plants or facing any issues in plastic pots as terracotta pots absorb extra water and keep the soil mixture relatively dry which snake plants love the most, as on the other hand plastic pots don't!??

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Год назад +1

      Great to hear you are growing a gorgeous plant! Terracotta pots are better for plants but they have some disadvantages and so I use plastic pots for indoor plants, specially. I don't find major issues..but agree with you, need to be more careful while watering than using terracotta pots. Thank you for stopping by and Sir is not required actually!

      @@GardeningUpbeat Thank you sir for your kind words! 😅 but you are senior to me as I am 21 so that's why I addressed you as sir! 😅😅

      I can understand 😅😅 Brother or Bhaiya is much better than Sir 😅 I am totally not forcing you (plz feel free to use any and I even don't mind even if you call me by my name - Chandan)...I got this habit while I was working. There was kinda strict and we were not supposed to address even the Project Manager as Sir..he he..So, got this habit 😅 You are 21 and doing gardening, that's really appreciable! Also enjoy your life as it's the best time (imp too) 😅

    If a person is using clay or red soil, they should not use sand in the mixture because in my experience the mixture starts to becomes hard like cement when dry.
    So better to use other well draining elements like rice husk, ground nut peels, straw, wood chips etc if Perlite isn't available.

      Agree with you on your first part and that's absolutely correct. But, Snake plant usually doesn't get too much trouble in such soil. Find them in many dividers here :-)
      >> So better to use other well draining elements like rice husk, ground nut peels, straw, wood chips
      Agree up to a point. Definitely these works well for a specific time as they get composted very fast. Perlite is best and I have seen many nurseries using very small pieces of Thermocol instead of Perlite. Thank you for stopping by and for your inputs :-)
