A really good old school Isonichia pattern. I like a flash back of Flashabou and a rib of copper wire on the abdomen.

Twist the herl around the thread and then wrap with the thread. Makes a tougher fly.

What size would be the most effective here in Colorado?
I have use weighted #10 here in Northern Colorado for 40 years, great fly.
That is way over complicated for tying a halfback. It’s a much simpler tie than what was shown here
