My rehabilitation officer showed me this song, got put into rehab center for bad drinkin' after a cruel heart break up I went through. this song became real to me, now im pushing hard as a department head in a home Depot n run a crew of guys n succeeding hard as a department head. Thank you so much Nelly!
Its crazy how a rehabilitation couch thinks a song is gonna help recovery. Its all on the persons strength. A song is just encouragement. U did that shit on ur own while listening to good music is all. Salute to you
Nostalgia. it’s 2 am right now, can’t sleep, listening to this song got me lookin back at my childhood days. Back to the simpler days. Like if you miss those days and still listening in 2018
@Unstoppable i think so im 29 my child hood was kickin it with the homies everyday outside getting into stupid shit tryna get at the females with 10% success but shit is wat it is waiting by the phone for a call bitch ass dial so almost impossible to stay online myspace got big but we still cared more about friends and family opinion over people we have never met in person social media was a cool thing to pop in and out of but didnt control us or make an impact on life for the most part i see what your saying but i do think it was more simple and chill
this song has touched me deep. i did 7 1/2 years. from the time i was 23 till after my 30th birthday. ive been out for the last 3 years and its been the longest yard but ive managed to turn my life around .
Late comment. 3 years after your comment, I hope things have gone better for you. Hope you knocked down any thing holding you down and are in a better place 🙏🏼
I miss when real rappers was in the game. Spitting truth and sending messages through music. Nowadays rappers are a joke. Thank god Nelly stayed the same.
The Longest Yard (2005) is the best movie i've seen in my life, because of three reasons It had a lot of Celebrities, Wrestlers, and even NFL Players. The acting is extremely good and this song.
Ty is song has a great amount respect and memmories seven years ago i lost my 15 yr old son... And two mnths befor we lost him he had to spend lil time in a boys home. He came home with new attitude and this song he had told me this song made him stronger and think about his life. And it was played for him at his funeral. I listing to it often just to remember the ups and downs of life and that you can change but you need Gods help thanks Nelly
Music that never dies...this is one of those songs that will always lift you up when you down and will always console you when you facing any problems in life...thank you Nelly. It's still the longest yard.
This song is in my heart was played at my sons funeral at age 15 few mnths befor he past he had been in boys boot camp skipn school he came home a dif boy got bk on trake now my daughter is doing 2 years in prison this song has such strong meaning thanks Nelly
I grew up listening to music from the 60's and i dont listen to much rap but this song with its simple melodic harmony and rhythmic lyrical scheme is just AWESOME !! Like i said, don't listen to alot of rap but there's always time for some Nelly and the Country Grammar.
always re play this song every time when i feel down and blue. no matter if people be going thru so much in life and go thru hard time with your relationship. never loose hope for the people you love because they are the ones that will always stick with you the longest no matter what. i love this girl to death but im not giving up hope on her because she's my babe/wife till the day i die.
I was just released from prison on 4/11/18 and doing a bid in New York is tuff .I was given a 15 flat and did 13 years .from Attica to Comstock to Clinton to Auburn to sing sing.never give up,never give in.stand tall in there to all the warriors still in those dark places .one day your time will come until then keep walking tall through your longest yard ..peace my brothers

This brings back so many memories! I absolutely love this song, so much better then the crap we get now. Back then music was amazing, i wish they would start making songs/tracks like this again :)
This song really hits home. My the time i was 18 ive been in 3 diffrent group homes 2 youth detention centers 4 rehabs and eventually juvi. I had a very troubled youth with drugs dealing and using fighting running away from group homes putting myself in risky situations ext. Now im 24 clean for 6 years 2 kids and completely changed my life around. If you really want a better life for yourself you will find a way no matter how hard it is or how long it takes
It remind you of your younger day when you was growing up and you see how things change you can look at some parts of your life and tell things will never be the same life will never be the same
2023 and this is my first time hearing this song. Crazy how randomly i heard this song im going through alot rn and rn the people i call familly is not showing me love and support. I know people is gonna say its tough love but do they ever wonder how tough that person is. 2023 is about self love and there is no more care for others
Nelly def had some awesome songs back in the day. yeah sure the pop ones were not really talking about personal issues like "Shake ya tailfeather" but he did have a lot of hidden gems which I loved. This must be my fav song of his tbh.
Nelly's too fucking real! When I saw the longest yard, for some reason I kept thinking that he would be like that in real life. He would show respect to a guy who gets the shit kicked out of him in basketball even though he'd betray his black friends. That's what a real human being is all about. Nelly!!!!
Hard song. When you're experiencing what Nelly sings here, in the end you're still a person who has feelings and memories of how life should never have landed you here.
Hearing this song after the movie felt amazing to me and when i went n did time all i can think of was this song. Nelly brought my spirit up with this song. i miss how music used to be this good
I can relate to this song. Not in the typical "ex-prisoner" sense, but in the sense of being trapped. I've worked in an awful job for the past three and a half years with supervisors that bully me and a terrible salary, but I've had no choice but to stick with it because I have bills to pay and I live in a town where there are barely any other job opportunities. Fortunately, my luck appears to be changing. A few new decent job offers have finally come up. If I'm lucky, I'll be out of there within a couple of months. Until then, this song keeps me going. Just a few more feet, but it's still the longest yard.
Yo I'm a work crew member going to be cleaning the war memorial but Nelly be coming to the war memorial for concert in Johnstown PA pa he's a original and one of the best rappers of all time fuck yeah
Nelly!! Where tf you at?! We miss you! I'm just giving credit where credit is due! God bless everyone! And to all of you who's doing a bid right now, keep your heads up brothers!
everybody has that little voice that tells you that your about to fuck it all up but were so stupid we ignore it and end up doing life over what some shit wed forget a week down the road
deep as song that you can't relate with any situation. Jail difficulty in school, inner mentality distractions and outer good ass song my favorite fom nelly hands down
Thinking about my friends I met while at County...Marcus Tilton, Lee Wesley, Shawn Mayberry, Roderick "Tru-Lo" Davis, "Pretty Tony" Cramatie, Melvin Washington, Mark Cain, Eeron Dawson, "Tony Touchdown," Mike Versluys, Abel Maasho, Jaylen Reynolds, and also the many others I had the honor of meeting my heart goes out to you. Keep your head up and hang in there!!
