I am a new carrier and new broker. There is always good and bad in any industry. Brokers work for the shipper and their job is to bring best value for their customers (shippers ) . There are brokers in many industries.

Yes and no. Brokers do work for the shippers. However, if the broker wants to make a career out of this and be successful, they must also work for the carrier. The Freight doesn't make any money if you can't move it. It may seem easy in a down market like today, but when the market flips, a lot of customers/brokers are going to really learn what relationships mean.

@@Freight360 Kind of like real estate when they say "location, location, location". Same thing in our industry, relationships, relationships, relationships. I want everyone to win, especially the carrier. If the carrier isn't making any money, they may not make it, or find something else to haul. Plus in our industry, shippers may need something picked up last minute. If you have a good relationship with the carrier, I find it seems to be a little easier to make that happen.
