That's a trick called Skin-hack
If the game doesn't have a specific plane, or the player doesn't download it, you can use skins to make some aircraft look like this or that

Drawing of Sunderland is off. Looks more like a Kawasishi H k 8 Emily of Japanese forces than Sunderland. The cockpit and for way turret are not british

I still remember good old times with SH3 i once was unable to dive on coast of britain due to heavy damage and spitfires attacked me in the morning so i brought them down with that 20 mm gun, one spitfire crashed on my watch tower and killed both my flak gunner and watch officer. i managed to get home alive. it was glory days

I used to have alot fun With the german seaplanes when i played this i used to shoot them up and make loose the floaters, then watch them land.
Sunderland? Looks like a Kawanishi H8K "Emily", captured and put into service with RAF Coastal Command. :-)
I have to admit though, that it did look a bit like its RAF counterpart.

Scott Murray there is a video game called Il-2 1946. It is a flight simulator and you can buy it online rather cheaply on websites such as steam. Hope this helps
Yeah too bad the flight model was so messed up. It could have been a really cute flying game because it sure wasn't a Sim but as a flying game it would have been fine

When under attack it was common for Sunderlands to go low to protect hull and let the 16 or so guns do the defence

What is the point of this silly game where sad lonely losers spend their life in front of their computers?..."..just makes light of the real heroic conflict...........sad wankers.
