- Call this a teaser for Halloween decor hunting! You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out in March that Michaels was getting a goth line for summer. Turns out it not only feels like it was inspired by Enid and Wednesday, I think Taylor Swift fans who are living for her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, could love this too! Goths, Halloween Lovers, and Swifties unite! Also, this is NOT SPONSORED. I just love hunting for dark aesthetic decor.

The strange vase with 5+ individual areas for flowers is actually a historic design. It’s from the 17th century (normally delft) and is often called a tulip vase, although any flower can be put inside it.
LMAAAOOO. Swifties SWEAARRR. It’s Nevermore like the school that Wednesday and Enid attended. It’s supposed to be wimsigoth. It’s okay.
Most of the stuff is like Michael's halloween style. Ceramic and resin materials or polyresin.
If they start carrying all year round that would be nice for us gothic and darkly inclined
Yes, ceramic or resin. Definitely not porcelain.
I'm DYING about those book stands
Update @Nyx Namor - I KNEW THOSE PAINTINGS WERE FAMILIAR. The lady in white trope has existed for at least a few hundred years, and the style is Edwardian. The green ribbon waist and 'frothy' white clothes, today reading as 'ghostly,' were popular daily wear. Think Mary Poppins. The painter of "The White Lady" in this collection is by William Merritt Chase, "Seventeenth Century Lady," 1895. WMC was the instructor of Georgia O'Keefe, amongst others. He was once very famous and has hundreds of works.
Besides the goth/dark academia/Poe/17th&18th century European aesthetic, the violin poster and art, which wasn't there reminds me of the rooms where people wrote, played instruments and drew and painted. The room name escapes me. With Edgar Allan Poe The Rue Morgue and the woman painting with her back facing us reminds me of Fall of the House of Usher. Thank you for the tour.
Conservatory, maybe? Or music room.
Morning room
Hello, came to let you know it's quite literally called the drawing room. It was the one place women could go to be casual and not wear a corset. They would engage in hobbies there like painting or music and men may play games things like that. It was a recreation area, but to use an analogy from our generation it was a mans cave but mostly for women to have a place to retreat and be less formal.
A few things, I work at Michael’s and this IS a Halloween collection this collection is part of Edger Allan Poe which is the best seller for Halloween. This year the company what’s this collection to be out longer than the rest of the upcoming Halloween decor. When my boss and I opened a lot of the boxes this collection for sure gives 2010 clique old money meets gothic decor with a bit of rococo vibes! If you like this collection get it fast cuz once the fall decor comes out this one will be discontinued.
Halfway to Halloween! Woohoo! The wheel has turned with Beltane🌌🌌🌌🧙🧙🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻👻☠️💀☠️💀
Some really cool pieces in this line! The wall art in particular is elegant with just the right touch of dark aesthetic. Thanks for the overview Nyx!
I was SO surprised when I walked in the other day. My 15 year old self was going to run and fill up the entire basket, even though I wasn't even into pink back then. Their Ashland Spring collection also works well with it, being whites, pinks, and golds, as well, so if you're mixing for a classic academia or light academia, it's perfect.
Halloween decor hunting is 24/7, 365 days .
I'm heading to Michael's, didn't know about this. Good info, Vampire. 💀🗝⛓️🦇🌹
Id like to make the birdcages a hanging light
This is such an interesting collection. I feel like it doesn't quite go together in a way? A lot of the sketch/eye pieces are very reminiscent of John Derian.
It was great to see you again! You look amazing! Happy halfway to Halloween!!
Welcome back, Nyx! It's good to have you back. Happy halfway to Halloween!!!
Wonderful to see you again, Nyx! Love this line! I'm on a budget at the moment because I'm about to sell my house and move, so I only picked up the larger wooden arch. Look for the 30% off coupon Michaels has.
Love the lovers eye motifs. Your hair and makeup looks great.
This was super fun to watch. Thank you! It was great to see you. Your looking AWESOME as usual! BB.
Love this collection- looks like I’ll have to head over there and pick stuff up. Thank you for showing the quality of everything!
Glad you're back. The decor is kinda giving Bridgerton vibes too.
I agree on the gold skate, it doesn't really fit.
I actually FINALLY realized what it referenced: Enid has a pair of roller skates. But it's such a deep cut to put in the line!
Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us.
Nice to see you back nyx ❤
Love your videos! 🖤
Really pretty things. I'm tempted.
ooh your makeup is stellar on fleek
So good to see you!🖤
I have to say, I love Goth, Dark Academia and Taylor Swift!
There is a RUclips channel called A Vision in Vintage you may like. She finds some unusual,, especially Victorian, things.
Omg your back yay!!! I’m a silent watcher I don’t remember if I ever commented but I’m an avid watcher💖🦄🌈
Peacock feathers would look good in that weird vase with several holes.
That odd shaped ceramic vase with five holes would be perfect for paint brushes
It is weird- I think they are meant to be aortas/heart valves 😂
@@cindyr4918 yess I was thinking that too.
wow, that purple eye shadow & black lip stick so hot ;-)
Hope you're doing alright Nyx.
It’s overall a miss for me. The only things I liked were the teapot (but no cups? what? I guess black ones would be cool). The last three ribbons were nice. The atomizers would be cool if they were functional. The stained glass rose is nice. But overall, it’s mostly just midsized chachckis (sp?) that don’t feel totally cohesive. It’s Edwardian, but leans Victorian. If it was totally a Victorian line I would love that.
I just saw the collection 2 days ago , but I could tell they didn't have all their stuff, my favorites are The Tea Pot, the Big Huge Flower Wall Hanging, The Frames, The Black Frames, the little Dark Brown trays and that Flower Tray I am drooling over!!!! I am planning on doing a Dark Cottage Core in our Bedroom. I'm sure I am missing one or two on this video but I need to go back to work from my break now.
I knew I had recognised some of the paintings when I saw them in store, but the white lady/black lady were such popular subjects, I couldn't remember if I'd seen *those* exact paintings, or a dozen similar ones from the time period (late 1800s.) The White Lady IS a print of a famous painting! You're looking for a print of "Seventeeth Century Lady." I'm pretty sure the other ones are prints of famous works, too. Good news: if you don't *quite* like those particular ones, look at the time period and style of paintings. You'll have a lot to choose from.
My apartment was kuromori/dark cottage some years ago. I'm glad to see it's a trend NOW, but oof, how hard I worked for it almost ten years ago. I'm into the dripping pearls, jewel tones, and lush florals of pre-Raphaelite works now. I'm sure your room will be gorgeous!
This makes me crave an anti-haul. Glad most things were porcelain or metal rather than plastic, but still there is so much junk and goofiness in all lines like this coming from retailers. And this is maybe the third time I've ran into goth and Taylor Swift being put together - I'm not here for it and need the universe to stop torturing me.
Nice finds
It's nice to see gothic decor available outside of the Halloween season, but most of these pieces are a miss for me. I think it's going for a whimsigoth aesthetic?
I went there last week and didn’t see this so either they didn’t have it out yet or I missed the aisle 😮
You should check this week! Some of the line should hopefully be in your store now. 🤞🏼
Thank you for sharing! I don’t think the materials you were naming were correct, to me they seem to be resin or glass when you would say wood or porcelain respectively. Which would make sense because it is a cheaper way to make decor items. I unfortunately did not like anything from this collection. Everything is so crafty and tacky and cheesy.
I think she may have been substituting the word “porcelain” for ceramic. Michael’s definitely has ceramic items.
Lmao those flowers couldnt even sit on a wall with those stems. My god if anyone gives them money for this garbage
This collection in my opinion is so cringe. They are capitalizing on halloween decor madness and threw out some cheesy stuff that they thought was "creepy" lol its so dollar tree cringe . The Live Laugh Love of the goth world 😂
