Nothing better than a new starter army! Thanks for doing this!
No problem mate - its nice to have a part time job where you get to buy hobby stuff and open it!
I like the numbering and molded arms and guns together.
They definitely make life a lot easier.
Very nice, I think a box of these will be next on the list. Great review thank you 👍👍
Oh, good luck then mate. Let us know how you get on.
Great review, Thanks for sharing !!
Thanks mate.
Starting to really like the British army in bolt action, but the Canadians sound good too. I didn't get the starter army , but I did get HQ box and 3 new troop boxes. Great with my British Air bourne.
Sounds like you made a cracking start already.
Awesome, best unboxing ever!
Wow, thanks!
Fantastic review, thanks 😁👍
Cheers mate. Thanks for taking a look.
Another great unboxing and some nice facts thrown in 👍🏻😊
Cheers mate. Sometimes the facts are even true ;)
@@ModellingforAdvantage Totally 😂😉
Great unboxing. Really excited to get my hands on this set.
For a starter set its pretty decent. Nothing in there you would look at and say it is just junk to pad it out.
@@ModellingforAdvantage I've been reluctant to start a British force because I hate the armies without the guns attached to the arms. Because of that the only British I have currently are commandos. I'm excited to get some good infantry. (Now they need to do the same thing to the Soviet armies.)
@@wargameexplorer Sounds like the new Infantry sprue is exactly what you have been waiting for.
Very cool review guys,I think I may get a box
The new sprue is pretty good.
Engaging review - admire your library!
Why thank you sir.
Nice Happy with my new British infantry boxed set, I think I'll be doing them as Canadians eventually. But I am fickle, so who knows what I'll decide! The whole starter box is an excellent deal though, well worth picking up if late war is your thing.
Yeah, late war gets all the fanboys - I do like the earlier stuff myself too, but the ranges are far less developed.
The new infantry sprue with the Tam O' Shanters is ideal for me as I'm currently researching and building a force representing the 52nd Lowland Division, in particular the 52nd Recce Regt of the division.
Sounds good - have you made a start, or still racing down the rabbit hole doing the research?
@@ModellingforAdvantage Still doing the research, though I have ordered one or two items from Warlord, it will be my first foray into Bolt Action.
@@wilmgrau6206 oh right, well good luck mate. I am sure you will enjoy it. Like every system, it has its flaws, but overall it is very playable.
Bit surprised you didn't notice that they are the wrong rifles, they are modelled with SMLEs and not No.4s. Its a damn shame as the old kit had the right rifles.
Sorry, missed that.
@@ModellingforAdvantage easy fix to scrap the middle sights off. Although I would like to know your opinion on the respirator bags, would you use them on alot of tye models of leave them off?
Good review, might consider getting to get into bolt action. My question is how many points for the army do you get for the box?
Wildly varies depends how you build the units, but comfortably 750 - 1,000 in there.
I have wondered why there is no towing hook on the rear of the Bren carrier as I have seen photos with and without hooks .
Most remaining museum examples all have 'custom' jobs on them, slight field changes to suit the particular user. I think there was a lot of variation. As a tow, not seen many photos with trailers, but definitely some. Maybe it was another carrier that was used as a tow, the lloyd perhaps?
Yeah I was thinking on towing the six pounder I have seen photos of them but probably field adaptations .
@@davidlarge8894 a six pounder, really? Wonder where they put all the ammo?
I love taking MMG teams. Especially using Suppressive Fire rules. Plus making German MMGs experten (costly!) is great for shredding pesky vets.
suppressive fire? Not come across that rule, is it on a supplement?
@@ModellingforAdvantage Could be in a supplement or an FAQ. But I discovered it in a K47 FAQ. Further minus 1 to hit by for MMGs but also LMGs in squads can do it, only if there's 2 of them.
(Further minus 1) then if any hits it's 2 pins rather than 1.
Don't think the 6pdr needs a bridging disc.. other than that, love the review 👌😁
Good call! I didn't even notice that.
The only problem I can see with the new sprue is the lack of Thompson’s for Canadians who used it while the British used the sten
I never even noticed that. Good point.
Except they did. The Thompson was replaced with the Sten for most all users for D-Day and beyond in the Western European theater. The Thompson was used widely by Canadians during the Italian campaign, however. So, there is a case for models with either weapon.
Lots of slouching when it comes to Canadians. Watch out for their 2/3 capacity ways. It's a trick of sorts.
Not sure what this means exactly, but I will assume it is some sort of slur ;)
Do you need glue?
Yes you do
