SENJUTSU is an amazing break through, including the long tracks. Nothing is boring. I enjoy the long instrumental interludes on the long tracks, and Bruce sings, its appreciated, no need to plaster vocals across the entire tracks. The short tracks are very catchy. The tempo cycles from slow to dramatic, slow, fast and racing anthems. It's what they've done for years and years, perfected, plus a dash of a little experimenting to spice things up just a bit. I also love SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON. great review!! thanks
1) The Number of the Beast 2) Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 3) Powerslave 4) Somewhere in Time 5) Piece of Mind 6) Brave New World 7) The Final Frontier 8) The X Factor 9) The Book of Souls 10) A Matter of Life and Death 11) Dance of Death 12) Killers 13) Fear of the Dark 14) Iron Maiden 15) No Prayer for the Dying 16) Virtual XI I'm not ranking yet Senjutsu because I haven't listened yet.
Awesome job man. Everyone has different tastes, I'm sure my picks would piss some people off too, especially since for me Fear Of The Dark is my least favorite because it pains me that it's a Bruce Dickinson album and yet I don't care for four of the tracks, even if I love Afraid To Shoot Strangers. And Piece Of Mind is quite low on my list because it didn't resonate with me as much as other albums. But anyway: 17: Fear Of The Dark 16: The X Factor 15: Virtual XI 14: No Prayer For The Dying 13: Dance Of Death 12: The Final Frontier 11: Piece Of Mind 10: Iron Maiden 9: Senjutsu 8: Somewhere In Time 7: Killers 6: The Book of Souls 5: Brave New World 4: Number Of The Beast 3: Powerslave 2: Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son 1: A Matter Of Life And Death
Not really sure what my entire ranking is but I would personally put Killers a lot higher, The X Factor and Final Frontier higher too. The first seven albums along with Senjutsu and TBOS are probably my top 9.
X Factor is great, was very innovative and you can hear elements of it in Dance of Death, Matter of Life and Death, Final Frontier and Senjutsu. Steve Harris had a big breakthrough on that album. Shame his direction of Virtual XI was so bad, and all the blame was pinned on Blaze.
1. Somewhere in time 2. Senjutsu 3.seventh son 4. Matter of life and death 5. Piece of mind 6. Book of souls 7. Dance of death 8. Brave new world 9.Final frontier 10. Powerslave 11. Number of the beast 12. Iron maiden 13. Killers 14. Fear of the dark 15. No prayer 16. X factor 17. Virtual shit
17) Virtual XI, 16) The X Factor, 15) The Final Frontier, 14) The Book Of Souls, 13) No Prayer For The Dying, 12) Senjutsu, 11) Dance Of Death, 10) A Matter Of Life And Death, 9) Fear Of The Dark, 8) Iron Maiden, 7) Brave New World, 6) Killers, 5) The Number Of The Beast, 4) Powerslave, 3) Piece Of Mind, 2) Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, 1) Somewhere In Time
Great video, dude! I have also remade my Maiden ranking. It looks like this now, which I also find more fitting. 1. Piece Of Mind 2. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son 3. Number Of The Beast 4. Iron Maiden 5. Somewhere In Time 6. Powerslave 7. Killers 8. Brave New World 9. Dance Of Death 10. A Matter Of Life And Death 11. Senjutsu 12. The Final Frontier 13. The X Factor 14. Fear Of The Dark 15. No Prayer For The Dying 16. The Book Of Souls 17. Virtual XI
1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - masterpieces from start to finish 2. A Matter of Life and Death - consistent, gritty and brilliant thoughtful lyrics, For the Greater Good of God and The Longest Day, what masterpieces. 3. The X Factor - dark and consistent quality throughout, so many darker melodies and feel, Blaze represents that perfectly. Sign of the Cross, Judgement of Heaven and Edge of Darkness are among the band's greatest material. 4. Somewhere in Time - awesome sounds, great guitar melodies and great feels. 5. Brave New world - a great balance of kick ass short rockers with a few awesome epics thrown in 6. Powerslave - peak performance in terms of vocals, instrumentals and song writing in a few of the best Maiden songs 7. The Book of Souls - a great mix of classic and modern material, with instant classic that have high replay-ability like Empire of the Clouds and The Book of Souls. 8. Senjutsu sits in between these 2 as of now. Which will likely change over time. Consistent in terms of quality, many great songs from start to finish, many call back to all eras of Maiden especially from Blaze era though this is a double edge sword as some melodies sound too familiar especially to those listening to these albums for the 50th time. Some experimental melodies and sounds unheard of before. So many ripper solos throughout. The writing teams bring their A game to each songs. 9. The Final Frontier - When the wild wind blows is my favourite Maiden/song of all time. Many absolute ass kickers and a lot of gloomy and chilling atmosphere throughout the album. 10. Number of the Beast - Classic all around, short ass kicker songs with great catchy tunes, probably the most accessible album and new fans should start with this one to see Maiden's greatness and what they're all about. 11. Virtual XI - Many darker heart felt song and perfect way to say goodbye to Blaze's contributions to the band. Songs like The Educated Fool and Como Estais Amigo represents this perfectly. The Clansman and Futureal are absolute classic killer tracks. 12. Piece of Mind - Another classic Maiden sound and transitioning between Number of the Beast and Powerslave, good mix of both world, catchy tunes, great guitar harmonies and song progression. 13. Killers - Fast, melodic and short punchy rockers throughout, a kick ass album from start to finish, the last song is a great send of to Paul Dianno, what a banger! 14. No Prayer for the dying - Many awesome melodies in the album that are highly underappreciated, sad and moody, pretty unique solos from Jan and Dave. Some great potential but the songs could be a little longer or refined. 15. Iron Maiden - One of the best debut album I've ever heard with instant classics like Prowler, Phantom of the Opera, Remember tomorrow and Transylvania is still one of their best instrumental tied or just lower than Genghis Khan. Some mediocre tracks that's inferior to the live versions like Running free and Sanctuary. 16. Dance of Death - A mix of some of the best Maiden tracks of all time like Dance of Death, No More Lies, Paschendale and Journeyman. But also some cheesy tracks or ones that feel a little off like Gates of tomorrow, The New Frontier and Face in the sand(which is still a good song). 17. Fear of the Dark - Also some killers songs like FotD, Childhood's End, Judas be my Guide and Afraid to Shoot Strangers mixed with a bunch of mediocre or trash stuff in there like Chains of Misery, The Apparition and Fear is the Key. What a discography! Maiden are the absolute best and their latest release just kicks major ass. The Parchment is a big highlight and a modern masterpiece.
1. Somewhere in time (this one and Powerslave are pretty much at the same level) 2. Powerslave 3. Piece of mind 4. 7th son 5. Number of the beast 6. Killers 7. Iron Maiden 8. Brave new world 9. Senjutsu 10. Dance of Death 11. Book of souls 12. A matter of life and death 13. Fear of the dark 14. Final Frontier 15. No fear of the dying 16. Virtual XI 17. The X Factor #1 Maiden song - Rime of the ancient mariner
Love the ranking! I’ve just gotten into metal this year and just did a maiden album ranking on my channel as well. Really cool for me to see someone’s opinion who is more experienced in metal
I have not listened to all their albums. Less then half with Seventh Son, No Prayers For the Dying, Piece of Mind, Power Slave, Fear of the Dark, Killers, and Number of the Beast. Can't give a proper personal ranking but was neat hearing yours. Still need to pick up Senjutsu as well.
Somewhere in Time has always been my favorite. Some Maiden albums took a while to grow on me and many of them never did, but right away I loved this one and it didnt leave my cd player for weeks.
I used to feel the same way you feel about Final Frontier. Recently I gave it another listen. While it’s not a great record, I highly recommend re-listening to The Talisman & Mother of Mercy. There’s some good stuff in there.
1. A Matter of Life and Death 2. No Prayer for the Dying 3. Killers 4. X Factor 5. Fear of the Dark 6. Seventh Son 7. Brave New World 8. Senjutsu 9. Iron Maiden 10. Dance of Death 11. Piece of Mind 12. Final Frontier 13. Powerslave 14. Number of the Beast 15. Book of Souls 16. Virtual XI 17. Somewhere in Time
I'm so glad I watched the entire video. Like others have noted, everyone has their own rankings but there's a general bend to the top 5. Somewhere in Time I have to admit - fails to spark for me but that may change with time.
Love that you're doing so much Maiden content. I'm also very hyped on Maiden recently so thanks for that. My opinion differs mostly towards the "newer" albums. But anyway here's my ranking: 17. X Factor - what you said 16. Virtual XI - What you said 15. No Prayer for the Dying - there's some good on it (especially Public Enema Number One i've come to love recently) but overall not their greatest effort 14: Fear of the Dark - slight improvement to No Prayer, but as a whole it doesn't hold op 13: Killers - what you said 12. Senjutsu - don't think it's as bad as many people say and it does get better with each listen, but it has not yet completely grabbed me 11. Matter of Life and Death - there's some amazing songs on here, like Brighter than a thousand suns or for the greater good of god, but not as consistent IMO 10. Iron Maiden - what you said 9. Dance of Death - Amazing album, don't really get why people hate on it that much (except for the cover). Paschendale, the title track, Face in the Sand all amazing songs 8. Final Frontier - Here I disagree with you. I don't like the first 3 songs very much, but from that point every song is absolutely amazing. 7. Book of Souls - has some flaws here and there but overall amazing record. I think my 9;8 and 7 constantly change over time. 6. Powerslave - Hurts not to put it in the top 5, but I think there is a huge discrepancy between Aces High, 2 mins, Powerslave, Rime and the rest of the songs. Mostly still pretty solid songs, but not compared to the 4 best songs on this 5. Brave New World - I love this record. I don't think there is any bad song on this. The first 4 songs are all bangers and the rest doesn't fall short either. 4. Piece of Mind - Classic. Pretty much agree with what you said. Though I think To tame a land is underrated af 3. Number of the Beast - Not much to say here that hasn't been said. Classic Maiden, classic Heavy Metal and yeah Hallowed be Thy Name is favourite Maiden song 2. 7th son - I love everything about this record (except for The Prophecy maybe). I go back and forth between this and my number, so if tyou ask me next week 7th son might take the crown 1. Somewhere in Time - Perfect album, love the vibe to it, the songs are absolutely killer. I really wish they played these songs live more ofte

@@pairofjeansreviews2034 Yeah, man. My list would totally differ than yours but I totally get you. SIT at #1 makes sense. And funny, I would place X Factor in the middle somewhere. But it's so interesting to know other people's take on IM's material and so much to consider. But our passion is the same and yes, at many times, Iron Maiden is my religion!! And again, you did a great review. We appreciate it
After two spins of the new album.. 17. Virtual XI 16. No Prayer For The Dying 15. Fear of The Dark 14. Killers 13. Senjutsu 12. The X-Factor 11. Dance of Death 10. The Number of the Beast 9. The Final Frontier 8. A Matter of Life and Death 7. Piece of Mind 6. Iron Maiden 5. The Book of Souls 4. Powerslave 3. Brave New World 2. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 1. Somewhere in Time
I love the video, and your appreciation for Iron Maiden. That said, I feel wounded by the ranking of Brave New World and Killers, but hey, to each their own :)
My top 5 can be changed around based on my mood, but most of the time I’d say: 1. Powerslave 2. Caught Somewhere in Time 3. 7th son of a 7th son 4. Number of the Beast 5. Piece of Mind 6. Killers 7. Brave New World 8. Dance of Death 9. Fear of the Dark 10. Virtual XI 11. A matter of life and Death 12. Iron Maiden 13. Book of Souls 14. No Prayer for the Dying 15. The final frontier 16. The X factor. Haven’t checked out the new one yet (just listened to one song off it and I’m definitely going to be giving it a whirl). Side note: Flight of Icarus was the first Iron Maiden Song I ever heard and it instantly got me into Iron Maiden. I think it’s worthy of note that I pretty much like all of the Iron Maiden albums except for the X factor, so even my number 15 is still an album I’ll listen to from time to time.
1. Iron Maiden 2. Powerslave 3. Killers 4. Seventh Son of the Seventh Son 5. Number of the Beast 6. Senjutsu 7. Piece of Mind 8. A Matter of Life and Death 9. Dance of Death 10. Somewhere In Time 11. Fear of the Dark 12. The Final Frontier 13. No Prayer for the Dying 14. The X Factor 15. Book of Souls 16. Brave New World 17. Virtual XI
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 I thought that Killers was number one in my heart, but it's not. It does has it's problems here and there, but it's an awesome record. And I understand why Killers was lower on your list. However, Wrath Child and the title track are awesome! I also like Drifter, the last song on the album! Love the ending of the song. I didn't even expect the debut to be that awesome, but it actually is. Love the punk rock energy, and the production isn't that great, but it didn't have to be! Love that raw production they had. Remember Tomorrow and Strange World sounded more goth, and that's awesome! Prowler is a banger. Running Free isn't the song that a lot of people really like, but I love it. It's one of their most funniest songs they ever done. And I understand why it exists. Transylvania is a great instrumental. Phantom of the Opera and Iron Maiden are also fantastic songs as well! Overall, it's definitely a fantastic album and it's my 3rd favorite metal album of all time! Iron Maiden is one of the most important albums in metal history. And Iron Maiden are responsibly for bringing metal back to popular again.
Some people hate the new era of iron maiden. What a lot of people don't realize is maiden has never conformed for radio play. Maiden does what they want always have always will. They don't make songs for their fans. We are their fans because we love their music. And that's what true musicians should do.
Seriously StRblind is an amazing haunting sound and time signature. The lyrics and music match. Talisman also epic. Man who wouldbe king also has a great pounding thythm and melody quite dramatic. . Frontier 's only problem isits mzddy sound.
If you're going to go by number of great songs on a single album - I'd put Senjutsu at 4th or 5th spot. Powerslave/Piece of Mind/Somewhere in Time in first three spots.
17 Virtual XI 16 The Final Frontier 15 The X Factor 14 Dance of Death 13 No Prayer for the Dying 12 The Book Of Souls 11 Senjutsu 10 A Matter of Life and Death 9 Fear of the Dark 8 Brave New World 7 Iron Maiden 6 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 5 Killers 4 Somewhere in Time 3 The Number of the Beast 2 Piece of Mind 1 Powerslave
Nothing wrong with doing updated rankings. Interesting ranking dude. Not an easy discography to rank since they have many great albums. I will say I disagree with The X Factor is their weakest... Yeah it’s not one of their best but I do probably prefer it to Virtual XI and Final Frontier. Powerslave and Seventh Son are probably my favorite Maiden albums.
Meh 17 - X factor 16 - Virtual XI Good 15 - No prayer for the Dying 14 - Fear of the Dark Great 13 - Killers 12 - S/T 11 - Senjutsu 10 - A matter of life and death 9 - Piece of Mind 8 - The book of Souls Amazing 7 - Dance of Death 6 - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son ( prophecy drags this down a bit) Fookin hell 5 - The number of the beast 4 - Brave New World 3 - Powerslave 2 - Somewhere in Time 1 - Final Frontier ( maybe this is heresy but I grew up with it and I know every single song by heart)
You should do a metalhead reviews of ABBA's comeback album Voyage when it drops on November 5th. It will be the LEGENDARY Swedish pop group's first album in 40 years since 1981.

i love no prayer for the dying, especially the title track :o but i agree on brave new world. it was my first maiden album but I never go back to it. i recall a lot of repetition in the songs. blood brothers, aaarrgh!
I love the final Frontier! It's my favorite Maiden album, coming in 2nd place No prayer for the Dying!I will defend these albums on all these rank videos!
For me 1) Powerslave 2) The Number Of The Beast 3) Piece Of Mind 4) Somewhere In Time 5) Seventh Son Of The Seventh Son 6) Iron Maiden 7) Killers 8) Senjutsu 9) The Book Of Souls 10) Fear Of The Dark 11) Brave New World 12) Virtual XI 13) A Matter Of Life And Death 14) No Prayer For The Dying 15) The X-Factor 16) Dance Of Death 17) The Final Frontier
Here’s my ranking of all the albums I’ve listened to so far: 8. Senjutsu 7. Piece Of Mind (Controversial pick, but I don’t think it’s a bad album at all! It’s great, but the second half is much weaker) 6. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 5. Killers 4. Powerslave (INCREDIBLY hard to pick between this and the number of the beast but I decided to go with number) 3. The Number of the Beast 2. Iron Maiden 1. Somewhere in Time (Jesus Christ, every song is incredible.) I know I said that number of the beast was my favorite in your review of it, but I’ve been on a maiden binge recently and my ranking has changed a lot
Great album ranking of Iron Maiden ! Definitely the greatest metal band along with Metallica and Black Sabbath. This is my Maiden list: 1. Somewhere in time 2. The number of the beast 3. Seventh son of a seventh son 4. Powerslave 5. Piece of mind 6. Iron maiden 7. Senjutsu 8. Killers 9. No prayer for the dying 10. Brave new world 11. Fear of the dark 12. Dance of death 13. A matter of life and death 14. The book of souls 15. Virtual XI 16. The X factor 17 The final frontier
Also I laughed because I agree with you on Senjutsu but your favorite songs are the 2 worst on the album (Senjutsu and Time Machine) Every other song is excellent :)
17 No Prayer for the Dying (1990) 16 Dance of Death (2003) 15 A Matter of Life and Death (2006) 14 The Number of the Beast (1982) 13 Senjusu (2021) 12 The Final Frontier (2010) 11 Powerslave (1984) 10 Piece of Mind (1983) 9 Brave New World (2000) 8 Fear of the Dark (1992) 7 Iron Maiden (1980) 6 Seventh Son of the Seventh Son (1987) 5 Virtual XI (1998) 4 The Book of Souls (2015) 3 Killers (1981) 2 Somewhere in Time (1986) 1 The X Factor (1995)
The Ranking is the same as the others in that the Blaze (or at least one) albums are the least scored ones...Well I like both of them...they are kind of melancholic, but that goes more or less through the albums after that as well...I wonder if the album would be more appreciated if it was by someone else - or Bruce had sung it.... you look rather young...cannot be a Maiden fan from the start, I guess - though you are probably not as knew to Maiden (or Metal in general) as me ... you don't like British steel...well I justed wanted to start listening to Judas Priest...I thought I could like it, since I like Maiden...but I will see.... thank you for your ranking
Was just re-discovering Risk today. Wonderful songwriting mostly throughout, but the polar opposite of what fans or critics want to hear from Megadeth. Seven, Wanderlust, Time, Insomnia - to name just four; great material. It's not Rust/Peace/Countdown/Dystopia, but it is a fine album on it's own merits and displays how good a songwriter Dave is.
Unfair to say Blaze is a bad singer. He burst his arse to be the lead singer for Maiden. Have you listened to his solo stuff , he can sing and some great songs
1. Somewhere in Time 10 2. Iron Maiden 10 3. The Number of the Beast 10 4. Killers 10 5. Piece of Mind 10 6. Powerslave 10 7. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 10 8. Senjutsu 8,6 9. Brave New World 8 10. @@mindful2864 that's blown my theory!...usually fans of the Dianno era were 60s born and fans of Bruce's first 5 albums were 70s born..but its a great choice of albums.

My personal ranking: 17: Virtual XI (favorite song: The Clansman) 16: No Prayer For The Dying (don't really have a favorite song from it) 15: The X Factor (fav: Sign of the Cross) 14: The Final Frontier (fav: Starblind) 13: Fear of the Dark (fav: Fear Of The Dark) 12: The Book of Souls (fav: Empire of the Clouds) 11: Senjutsu: (fav: Hell on Earth) 10: Dance of Death (fav: Paschendale) 9: Brave New World (fav: Dream of Mirrors) 8: Killers (fav: Killers) 7: Iron Maiden (fav: Phantom of the Opera) 6: A Matter of Life and Death (fav: Brighter Than a Thousand Suns) 5: Somewhere In Time (fav: Caught Somewhere in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land) 4: Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (fav: Infinite Dreams) 3: Powerslave (fav: Rime of the Ancient Mariner) 2: Piece of Mind (fav: To Tame a Land) 1: The Number of the Beast (fav: Hallowed Be Thy Name, Children of the Damned)
I would very much disagree with Blaze Bayley being a bad singer, he just has a vastly different vocal style to Bruce. I also think that Brave New World absolutely blows away any Maiden album released after it and is one of my favourites. Ah, subjective tastes, right?
1. Powerslave (9/10) 2. Piece of mind (9/10) 3. Number of the beast (8/10) 4. Seventh son of a seventh son (8/10) 5. Somewhere in time (7.5/10) 6. Iron maiden (7.5/10) 7. Brave new world (7/10) 8. Fear of the dark barely made my list. If Bruce and Adrian aren't on it then I'm not into it! Idk what happened on the final frontier but I didn't like it. Maybe I need to revisit that album
Agreed...I have said for years, without both Bruce and Adrian, Maiden are not at their best. That's why I rank the 4 albums from the 90's lowest. Just the fact Adrian is on Killers elevates it above the debut (his playing is cleaner than Stratton's plus better production).
For me 1) the number of the beast 2) powerslave 3) dance of death 4) brave new world 5) somewhere in time 6) piece of mind 7) Seventh son of a seventh son 8 ) a matter of life and death 9) killers 10) iron maiden 11) senjutsu 12) book of souls 13) fear of the dark 14) no prayer for the dying 15) final frontier 16) x factor 17) virtual xi And my favorite maiden song is " when the wild wind blows " and can't believe you hate that song x3 . But I respect that
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 He did. He was writing with the band for the next album (No Prayer) but then he upped and left to do his solo project, ASAP (Adrian Smith and Project - Silver and Gold) and the band kept that one track of his for No Prayer
I know...it is hard to fatthom the great Mr, Smith composed Hooks in You...he must have been awaken from a sound sleep and had to finish it right before he left the band. It's probably his worst tune--and I love most of his songs.

1 Iron Maiden 2 Killers 3 book of souls 4 Number of the Beast 5 Balls to Picasso 6 Chemical Wedding 7 Smith Kotzen 8 Skunkworks 9 A matter of life and Death 10 Accident of Birth. This would be my Maiden 'family' top 10.

I know you know this already maybe? But, X Factor was ‘low energy’ because Steve was going through a divorce. Which as you can imagine would take its toll on him and his music. I should say that the divorce happened in 93 and the album came out in 95 so he obviously was writing songs for X Factor. The time Leading up to that album must’ve been absolute hell
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 Dude you can only write what comes from the heart and if you’re going through some difficult shit (such as a divorce) it’s gonna show. I don’t particularly care for the album as a whole but that is the reason.
I think it's awesome how different everyone's rankings are for Maiden. There's love and appreciation for every album.
So many different thoughts it’s awesome!
Almost every time you said a song was your worst it was my favourite from that record 😂 Great vid anyway my dude looking forward to the art one🍺

I also love SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON. great review!! thanks
SHITJITSU is boring, dull af. as shite as matter of life and death. entirely dull. so bad.

But anyway:

Not really sure what my entire ranking is but I would personally put Killers a lot higher, The X Factor and Final Frontier higher too. The first seven albums along with Senjutsu and TBOS are probably my top 9.
I’ve noticed a lot of people really love the X factor!
Hey twinsies
X Factor is great, was very innovative and you can hear elements of it in Dance of Death, Matter of Life and Death, Final Frontier and Senjutsu. Steve Harris had a big breakthrough on that album. Shame his direction of Virtual XI was so bad, and all the blame was pinned on Blaze.

Probably the Maiden album ranking I've agreed the most with so far. Also nice to see that Somewhere In Time is getting the love it deserves.
1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - masterpieces from start to finish
5. Brave New world - a great balance of kick ass short rockers with a few awesome epics thrown in
6. Powerslave - peak performance in terms of vocals, instrumentals and song writing in a few of the best Maiden songs
The Parchment is a big highlight and a modern masterpiece.

lol i dunno how experienced I am in metal but thanks!
Afraid To Shoot Strangers is so underrated! Possibly my favorite Maiden song... Senjutsu is awesome but it's so damn long!
Such a killer song! Very wpic
I like your top 5 picks
I used to feel the same way you feel about Final Frontier. Recently I gave it another listen. While it’s not a great record, I highly recommend re-listening to The Talisman & Mother of Mercy. There’s some good stuff in there.

Solid ranking! Somewhere in Time is my favorite as well, with Seventh Son a close second.
Hell Yeah!
I'm so glad I watched the entire video. Like others have noted, everyone has their own rankings but there's a general bend to the top 5. Somewhere in Time I have to admit - fails to spark for me but that may change with time.
Yeah everyone has a similar top tier just different order
Love that you're doing so much Maiden content. I'm also very hyped on Maiden recently so thanks for that. My opinion differs mostly towards the "newer" albums. But anyway here's my ranking:
17. X Factor - what you said
16. Virtual XI - What you said
15. No Prayer for the Dying - there's some good on it (especially Public Enema Number One i've come to love recently) but overall not their greatest effort
14: Fear of the Dark - slight improvement to No Prayer, but as a whole it doesn't hold op
13: Killers - what you said
12. Senjutsu - don't think it's as bad as many people say and it does get better with each listen, but it has not yet completely grabbed me
11. Matter of Life and Death - there's some amazing songs on here, like Brighter than a thousand suns or for the greater good of god, but not as consistent IMO
10. Iron Maiden - what you said
9. Dance of Death - Amazing album, don't really get why people hate on it that much (except for the cover). Paschendale, the title track, Face in the Sand all amazing songs
Mostly still pretty solid songs, but not compared to the 4 best songs on this
5. Brave New World - I love this record. I don't think there is any bad song on this. The first 4 songs are all bangers and the rest doesn't fall short either.
4. Piece of Mind - Classic. Pretty much agree with what you said. Though I think To tame a land is underrated af
3. Number of the Beast - Not much to say here that hasn't been said. Classic Maiden, classic Heavy Metal and yeah Hallowed be Thy Name is favourite Maiden song
2. 7th son - I love everything about this record (except for The Prophecy maybe). I go back and forth between this and my number, so if tyou ask me next week 7th son might take the crown
1. Somewhere in Time - Perfect album, love the vibe to it, the songs are absolutely killer. I really wish they played these songs live more ofte
More Maiden content coming soon!
Loved your maiden thoughts
thank you!

Yes! Love the debut at number 1!
No prayer has a great raw sound. I think they wanted to copy the success of Tatooed Millionaire.

It's much more fun if you include tiers, you can still rank the abums worst to best using that system, use the horizontal position in each tier!
I don’t really like tiers too much because I feel it’s too easy to cram things into one category
Or you could just say which one resonates more with you mate.
i love no prayer for the dying, especially the title track :o but i agree on brave new world. it was my first maiden album but I never go back to it. i recall a lot of repetition in the songs. blood brothers, aaarrgh!
Lol blood brothers always annoys me. That’s the part in the concert you go get a drink
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 definately!

I love no prayer for the dying hooks in you is part 3 to the Charlotte the harlot saga

Here’s my ranking of all the albums I’ve listened to so far:
8. Senjutsu
7. Piece Of Mind (Controversial pick, but I don’t think it’s a bad album at all! It’s great, but the second half is much weaker)
6. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
5. Killers
4. Powerslave (INCREDIBLY hard to pick between this and the number of the beast but I decided to go with number)
3. The Number of the Beast
2. Iron Maiden
1. Somewhere in Time (Jesus Christ, every song is incredible.)
I know I said that number of the beast was my favorite in your review of it, but I’ve been on a maiden binge recently and my ranking has changed a lot
My ranking will really change all the time though lol
I agree with the second half of piece of Mind being a tad weak!
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 Such a shame too, if the entire album was as good as the first half it could be the best maiden album
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 I think somewhere in time dips just as badly. Both albums have fantastic openers but piece of mind has a brilliant closer.
@@maxrav1831 I strongly disagree but respect your opinion
Great album ranking of Iron Maiden ! Definitely the greatest metal band along with Metallica and Black Sabbath.

The greatest metal band ever! I think 😉
I honestly don't blame you for the way you rank these albums. I have controversial opinions about Megadeth. Risk is actually in my top 10 at #9
Was just re-discovering Risk today.
@@ghurley2269 I didn't like insomnia too much, pretty cheesy in my opinion. The rest of the album is great though.
Risk actually has some cool songs! Don’t know if I’d rank it that high but definitely not the shit show everyone makes it out to be
Unfair to say Blaze is a bad singer. He burst his arse to be the lead singer for Maiden. Have you listened to his solo stuff , he can sing and some great songs
He isn't a bad singer, but his time in maiden wasnt great. He was pitchy and just couldnt match the epicness of the music

I would very much disagree with Blaze Bayley being a bad singer, he just has a vastly different vocal style to Bruce.
I also think that Brave New World absolutely blows away any Maiden album released after it and is one of my favourites.
Ah, subjective tastes, right?
All opinions!
Oh dude, check out Blaze's solo stuff. He's absolutely amazing. He was just a bad pick for Maiden.
I'll check it out!

The rest don't rank because there not good albums.
For me
1) the number of the beast
2) powerslave
3) dance of death
4) brave new world
5) somewhere in time

And my favorite maiden song is " when the wild wind blows " and can't believe you hate that song x3 . But I respect that
Lol I know a lot of people love that song
Hooks in You is up there with Adrians Worst written songs. But, I loved all of No Prayer except that one song.
He wrote that? I didn’t know he wrote anything on that album because he doesn’t play on it
@@pairofjeansreviews2034
He did.
Everything before Jannick joined is great -- everything afterward sucks.

Yeah I know but still not a good excuse lol

Dude you can only write what comes from the heart and if you’re going through some difficult shit (such as a divorce) it’s gonna show. I don’t particularly care for the album as a whole but that is the reason.
