I had cancer when I was 15. They told me it was a rare form of cancer that was "late recurring" which meant the older I get, the higher the chances are that I will get it again. The chemo I underwent gave me a secondary cancer and caused infertility, and they also nearly lost me twice on the operating table. I am 32 now, and go back every 6 months for checkups but everything has been just fine so far and I am living a happy, healthy, and productive life and have since married and adopted 2 children. I know how it is to think that cancer can come back, and what it's like having to be monitored and go in for checkups for the rest of your life but, in a way it's a really good thing that they can check for a recurrence. Rather than a source of anxiety, it's become a source of comfort for me to know that I am doing okay and to know that if I get sick again, they will basically know right away. Anyway, thank you for sharing Lauren's story. She's a very beautiful and brave little girl :)

    Hi LPS Studio,
The parents created the script and there were cues on site so they would not miss any of their talking points.
