The last part of the music represents his gameplay quite well. What you thought was a vulnerable, lumbering slow, fat, elderly man, is suddenly airdashing at you with the force of a pissed off American freight train.
@@daysand123 I mean, he has a rather bad defense and a monke character is his worst nightmare, but yeah, he can get pretty terrifying if he is the one who's going into the offensive swinging a full metal tomb at you.
@@franconunez925 i think it's his hilariously american that he is the absolute secretary of defense but he's best at putting pressure and going offensive
The singer is actually Naoki Hashimoto from the band Outrage. He's been singing all the vocal tracks since Xrd and it's amazing. Daisuke IS the one composing all the battle tracks though so yeah kudos to both
Honestly, just discover the OSTs of the entire series, Guilty Gear is like a monster full of absolute crazy good songs, be it the first game to Accent Core to Xrd, with Isuka and Overture in the way. Strive just elevated it to a new level because it's the first time all the characters theme have lyrics. Just enjoy your adventure, my man. Maybe one day, GG's little brother, BlazBlue could tickle your fancy as well.
I absolutely love Guilty Gear Strives Alone Infection which is Fausts theme, it is an absolute crazy insanity mind trip that very much sums up Faust as a character.
It's really difficult to go wrong with _Guilty Gear_ music in general (taking aside "this isn't what I'm into" reactions), but my personal nomination for next is "Armor-Clad Faith" from _Guilty Gear Strive._ I've found that the game's resident grappler, Potemkin, has had a bit of trouble settling on a theme that felt fully encompassing of his character. Whether his original theme, "Slave's Glory," his theme for most of the X series, "Burly Heart," or his theme for Xrd, "Engage," it always felt like something was missing in some way, whether, say, "Burly Heart" failing to really capture anything but a beast, and "Engage" feeling a little flat and overly soldier-y. "Armor-Clad Faith," though? It's intense and powerful from start to finish, capturing his pathos, his ferocity, his compassion, and his unshakable resolve to fight for a more equitable and just world.
The music is definitely what got me into Strive (and watching clips of Potemkin). For other character themes, I would definitely recommend "What do you fight for" and "Necessary Discrepancy".
For future reference Daisuke is pronounced more like "dice-kay," and yes everything he makes is gold. Definitely do the rest of the STRIVE music, or even just go back and check out the older themes. Even the original GG had the best music.
i 'm a Metal head into Death, Metalcore/Death and Thrash and i love videogames, and Guilty Gear is a videogame, that has a long history with Metal/Rock Soundtracks , Because Daisuke loves Metal and Rock. Even the characters, in the past games and now, has some "Metal" characteristics to them or have attacks or other stuff with the names of popular Metal songs or bands PS: i loved ur reaction, glad i found ur channel!
You had the same reaction as me when the song picked up lol. Strive's OST is crazy good. A lot of the songs do stuff like that, where there is a section that sounds different than the rest of the song, but still fits in perfectly. The songs feel like they take you on a journey. My personal favorites are this one, Roar of the Spark, Rock Parade and Love The Subhuman Self. Whole OST is amazing though.
Definitely give the vocallist Naoki Hashimoto's band Outrage a listen when you get a chance. Outrage is even referenced in Guilty Gear, having been a weapon/object created by the main character. They've been around a long time and still going. Their 2020 album Run Riot has a lot of bangers. I've been loving going back to their older 80s stuff again recently as well. Really good Thrash.
It's hard to say which is the "best" song of all the Guilty Gear Strive character themes, but my personal favorites are Love the Subhuman Self and Necessary Discrepancy.
See, now that you've listened to Goldlewis's theme, you've gotta listen to Bridget's theme (This Town Inside Me), his adoptive daughter. It's a lot more pop-ish than metal, but it fits her character really well and is just a good song overall. Bridget adopted him, of course.
You should listen to Alone Infection next! That's easily tied with Rock Parade for my fave themes in the game. I'd definitely recommend either of them.
I think two songs you would like are Nightmare King and Grimm Troupe from the Hollow Knight DLC. Rest of the soundtrack is also great but those 2 songs in particular are a real bop.
A bit late to the video, but any Guilty Gear song is sure to be great. My personal favorites are Sky Should be Higher and Heavy Day from Guilty Gear Xrd. The cool thing is almost every song in GG history is in Strive for you to unlock.
For me, the first adjective that came to mind when I heard those low, heavy riffs was "bluesy". Something about the style and the chords just make me think of a blues musician whose band happens to play metal. Is blues/metal fusion a thing..?
Glad your enjoying the strive soundtrack! Literally all of them are really good. If I have any recommendations it would definitely be What do you fight for-strive and since you reacted to a persona song probably Counterstrike-Persona 5 Scramble! Edit: also The only thing I know for real- Metal Gear Rising! Love hearing your thoughts on these bangers
You should check out Find your one way, Roar of the Spark, and Six Black Heavens Guns they’re some of my personal favorites. But honestly pretty much every song from gear is an absolute banger, Daisuke is a god.
If you ever get around to it (Patreon or otherwise) the first vocal songs for the series (not counting a series of albums which are remixes of previous game tracks with vocals) are from, and I shit you not, a Japanese gambling machine. A 'Pachislot' Guilty Gear themed machine. These tracks are much more well known thanks to being included in subsequent releases thankfully. (Xrd and Strive) These tracks should not bang as hard as they do- but they do. The tracks are "Storyteller", "Dice", "Shotgun+Head", and "Coming Home". I recommend them all (Especially Shotgun+Head and Dice) It's Naoki's (vocalist) first involvement in the series, and it was probably a dream come true for Daisuke because every proper noun in the series is a reference of some kind, and some of the earlier games had references to OUTRAGE (Naoki Hashimoto's band) Every subsequent release of Xrd had new music, and the opening theme of Rev 2 (Break a Spell) and the arcade ending track (N.S.F.W) are also really damn good. Oh, and uh, don't read too deeply into the lyrics on The Kiss of Death- the official lyrics have yet to be released, and Naoki's... English can be difficult to discern; despite our best efforts. The tracks tend to make a bit more sense with officially released lyrics. (whenever ArcSys gets around to it) The Kiss of Death is probably a bit easier than a couple of songs I can think of, but I can definitely spot a few mistakes. I'm a stickler for these sorts of things though...
Yeah Guilty Gear ost is such an awesome listen could recommend the whole OST but "Alone Infection" "Requiem" "Armour Clad Faith" from Strive and "Midnight Carnival" from the older games (I know thats alot to say in one comment my bad but there just awesome) love the reactions and musical talk
Btw the actual kiss of death is his left eye (conceiled by a blacked out glass with lips drawn on it) wich actually is an aiming device for an orbital strike lazer...

All of guilty gear strive's character themes are essentially sung by the characters, and represent either what they want or who they are. Goldlewis, for example, is simply content to be a tool for his government without thinking too much about what he's asked to do.
Sick video with a sick song! BTW, did you check out Risk of Rain 1 or 2? Both games have amazing soundtrack, especially songs called "Coalescence" and "...con lentitud poderosa"
