    The history of the Toronto Streetcar network, from its opening in 1861 to the end of the Toronto Railway Company franchise in 1921, as operated by the Toronto Civic Railway, Toronto Railway Company, Toronto Street Railway Company, Toronto Suburban Railway, Toronto & Mimico Electric Railway and Light Company, Toronto & Scarboro Electric Railway, Light, and Power Company, Metropolitan Street Railway Company.
