No future lines or extensions planned?
Line 3-2025. Not 2028.
Vraiment magnifique
25 years including 12 in the EU and not a single extension of the network, shame.
Yes, the St. Petersburg tram still has a lot to strive for. From 1998 to 2025 (in 27 years!) only 2 lines were built. Moreover, the lines in the center and a few on the outskirts were almost completely destroyed. And the population of St. Petersburg is 7 times larger than that of Zagreb.
@ oh, Spb is a case of it's own, definitely. Mix of corruption and outdated ideas about city planning which the West (at least European West) ditched in the 70s.
I know u put a lot of effort in this vid, but it just has too many mistakes. For example the blue line and orange line weren't ever called U1 and U2 in first place, they were always U6 and U3. Also the first line of U5 was never turquoise, it was brown. In addition the U1 only went to Innsbrucker Ring and not to Neuperlach Zentrum
Why does this video give me 2016 vibes
Is there any way that MRT-3 could extend to MOA?
I always think that
I watched Impograpiko its better
They couldn’t have put the subway through the middle? It just had to be another circumferential line? Not from the area, so I wonder what the reason is
type or class of people that will mostly used it, majority of its station route are in major business hubs.
Major CBD are on the route of the subway that's the reason
Remember, Metro Manila isn't one big city, it's 16 smaller cities (and one municipality) each with their own downtowns and each vying for attention whenever a new line gets laid down
The subway line follows a very crowded and saturated circumferential road (along the middle part of the line) and would support the cities in the north and south (ESPECIALLY the south) which are heavily dotted with subdivisions that have the worst transport infrastructures in the metropolitan area. Building a subway line is very costly. And so as the others have said they chose to align it with the CBDs. A circle line would have been good, however, the western part of the metro is heavily dense. It would have involved so many ROW issues and evictions (which would not be a good look for them). Additionally, there is no single governing body for Metro Manila so there is a lot of red tape there as well.
It shows it can be done again
what the heck is Anding Gate
The future projection is wrong. If you look in STASY website it will display all future projects and it’s not only line 4
Great video!!!
If you’re going to include the second iteration of Athens trams, then it probably would have been good to include the earlier Athens teams
The original tram system was slow and ran in the streets, like the modern buses and trolleybuses which aren't shown today. The modern tram system has (mostly) exclusive right of way and is considerably faster than a bus. But more practically, the old tram system would be rather cluttered on the map.
It’s really hard to find information on most legacy tramway systems, let alone ones in countries whose languages I don’t speak. There’s a lot that won’t show up in my Google results. I do have my eye on a few Eastern European systems (including one finished video), but I have to stop at some point and yeah, the modern tram is very different from the system that closed in 1960.
Wow! Didn’t know so much of the system’s expansion was so recent! Can’t wait to see what they do next (max to tigard and a tunnel under the river maybe?)
I love septa
Do Shanghai as your 1000 sub special
Really great video as well :) ! The network is supposed to grow before 2030, but it is highly unclear, weather the City will opt for new tramway lines, or BRT lines. The city is also officially getting an 'RER' (french style commuter rail, "S-Bahn"), as in Casablanca and Marrakesh, by 2030. The works are already underway, with the construction of Hay Riad's RER station
Really nice video! By 2030, an extensive Regional Rail Network will open, as part of the multiple works to host the Football World Cup. An RER sort of network, from Al Mansouria Stadium, in the north east of Mohammedia, to the current Mohammed 5 airport, with a branch to Casa Port. New stations are to be built. The works should be launched in the early 2025, alongside the highspeed rail extension to Marrakesh. Sadly, there is too few documentation about it: moroccan media aren't very developped. All you have are official tenders from the national rail operator, in French or Arabic.
Another day, another Green Line change. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/green-line-calgary-city-council-aecom-1.7409796
Le premier ligne c’est Ligne A? The first line is Line A?
Oui, le premier ligne c’est Ligne A
Frankly, Calgary needs to get it's sh*t together and stop endlessly sprawling into the prairie... As it approaches a metro population of 2 Million, it barely has just 2½ light rail lines... They need to get HSR to Edmonton and at the very least a good regional line from YYC to Banff. It's a no brainer. Metro Vancouver opened the West Coast Express in 1995 when it had a metro population of 1.7M, the same metro population Calgary has in 2024.
Itreally harde though to actually get to build the HSR line between Calgary and Edmonton because of the airplane industry (YEG)
Well Alberta needs to accept that it can only support 1 major international airport. BC, Quebec and Ontario all only have 1 true large international airport. Ottawa and Quebec City are not in denial about this and their respective aviation markets are totally content using YYZ / YUL for overseas or long haul flights. Once Edmonton accepts this they will realize that high speed rail is a win-win. Edmonton gets a fast rail connection to YYC for overseas flights and YEG can remain a strong regional hub. YYC benefits from a larger market and Edmontonians benefit from more options and competition. Alberta wins when they connect their two largest cities.
Fascinating!
Nice
I was Born and raised in Bielefeld. Thank you very much for this great video.
Thanks for watching!
@@Direction-North You´re welcome!
poate era o varianta la fel de buna sa plece cu M6 de la aviatorilor, asa aveai legatura cu centrul direct. Dar posibil studiile au aratat ca e mai bine direct la gara.
This yellow line just destroyed my sense of logic 🤯😵
That pink line is so fucking useless😂😂😂
I made three years ago, and I agree with this view now. LOL
Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, where all the other Miami Metrorail extensions were ACTUALLY built... Resident #1: "this is one of the best Metrorail systems in the world! It's super easy to get from one place to another thanks to it!" Resident #2: "I know right? Just imagine a universe where only one of these extensions was built, that would be so sad!" Meanwhile, in our universe...
Where the 2002 sales tax money wasn’t squandered. I mean, $900 million of 2.8 billion on politicians too cheap to pay for operations, my goodness …
@Direction-North Resident #1: "do you sometimes wish you lived in a alternate universe where more extensions of the Miami Metrorail were built and not just the airport line?" Resident #2: "yeah dude, I do."
I’d laugh, but it’s actually so pathetic I just can’t
@@Direction-North sorry.
the best public transport system in America!!
pink lines kinda useless tbh, its not connected to the city center and people would have to transfer to get there, only adding more pressure to the green and blue lines
After three years, my views have changed (a bit), and I have to agree with you - the modern Pink Line napkin proposal would probably have been better than what I drew 3 years ago.
Beautiful city. One of, if not the best public transit services in all of America.
You didn’t Add the station stops no offense
Is it going to come in future?
You made a mistake, The 4th line will go via Podilskyi bridge when it opens,
Don't know if there is enough public information but the Bielefeld Stadtbahn would be much appreciated (Keep up the good work, always a good day when direction North uploads a video
Thanks! I’m sure I could scrap together the information for Bielefeld’s modern stadtbahn, but only as far as 1978. I’ve got a large backlog though, so it may take a few months.
@@Direction-North thank you, but I know this isn't the only request you got so I can wait happily 🙂
Nice!

If Jean Drapeau was alive and Quebec was less corrupt, this would have been a thing
Woah! Thank you for making this video about Kolkata! :) I didn't think you'll do it so quickly!
You’re welcome :) As it turned out, I wanted to get ahead of the Orange Line extension (next month?)
Part of the first segment there (in blue) is already covered by line 2 of the Otrain, which was built on the old rail that I think was being represented here. However, it unfortunately doesn't go across the river.
You should do Santiago de Chile
It’s in my pile of videos to release!

Merci pour votre remarque!
Good video quality. More clear animation than in older videos. I like your work, good luck with your future productions! Btw, maybe video about transport system in any Indian city? Many cities there with small systems have big future plans.
Thank you! I’ve looked at some Indian cities, but I haven’t made anything yet. Mumbai and Kolkata look interesting.
@@Direction-North Cool! good luck and take your time
Maybe Mumbai/Navi Mumbai metro?
Very nice video! A few small details I'd love to add: Metro Line stopped running to Century Park in 2021 thanks to an upgraded signaling system, now it only runs from Health Sciences to NAIT/Blatchford Valley Line West is slated to open in 2027 Capital Line South Expansion phase 1 expansion to Twin Brooks and Heritage Valley Transit Centre is slated to open in 2028 Future connection of Valley Line Southeast to Ellerslie - but this is at the concept planning stage like the Metro Line phase 2 and 3 extension!
Has Capital Line South started construction yet? Seems like they signed the contract, but I’m unsure. As for Valley West, the provincial website says 2028, but I could be misreading/missourcing. Or they’ve made progress against the deadline, which would be great
@@Direction-North yes I live close to Century Park and the construction has been quite intense on the new tunnel!
That’s great news! Of course, I wish I heard it earlier …
This is beautiful what do you use to make your videos?
