Shame about the slightly negative comment on this one about not being able to start it🤔 couldn't see anything wrong with it myself, great video really enjoyed it 👍😁
Hey Rod, everyone does things differently eh, thanks for nice comments once again :)
@@TheClassicMotorcycleChannel No problem, I've thoroughly enjoyed all your videos 😁
I have to ask why you called me Rob again instead of Rod 😂 I've put 2 comments on this channel and been called Rob both times, are you the same person answering my comments? can't be I guess 🤔 don't worry it happens all the time 😂 perhaps it's predictive text doing it 😁
Rod. Sorry! I’ll let the guys know! Thanks for watching our videos :)
@@TheClassicMotorcycleChannel 😁👍 have a look at my comments on the Vincent video, I was explaining how the "Rob" thing has happened all my life... I wonder if Rod Stewart has had the same problem 😁😂😂
I just discovered your videos yesterday. I am truly enjoying them.
Gobsmackingly desirable. Fantastic machine. Green as grass with envy.
Absolutely wonderfully done
A lovely looking bike and very well put together too, the Manx style cafe racer takes some beating for looks. Specials are not so common these days which is a shame. I have started putting together a baby Tribsa, that is a Triumph 5TA motor in a BSA Starfire Rolling chassis which is going cafe race style, the only problem being most race tanks and seats are made for larger machines so to keep in scale I am fitting a steel race tank off a 535 Royal Enfield Continental and the hump seat is for a Honda CB 350 K4 race bike. Hopefully a Mikuni carb and bell mouth and twin T100C type hi level pipes with meggas. Once again another old geeza reliving his youth.
Dave, your explanation and advise is priceless. So glad this channel has guys like you that share your knowledge with us noobs on these old classic's.
One of the best videos on RUclips‼️ everything about the bike it’s just beautiful I can’t ride one anymore but if I could buy it I would have it in my living room instead of a Blumin television I would just look at it all day, Thank you so much for posting this🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice work , a credit to all involved , glad to see people still love the older bikes , in a shed , with a few tools .
Not able to use many words..
Just nice....brilliant...memory comes back....wonderful 👍👍😎😎
Phantastic!
Good Dude.!
Interesting is the exhaust- top.
I had the Commando Motor 2 in 1 exhaust in front of the frame. That looked really sexy.
Best regards🍀
Absolutely lovely video, i am 67 and have a 750 commando and a 900ss duke, both cafe racers, cant get off them after about half an hour, but i still try!!!!!
Thank you for a terrific analysis on this beautiful build. Love the portion on the importance of alignments of engine mounting. The metalwork on the fuel tank is superb, only outdone by the actual thrilling "road test" on those narrow two lanes. Well done! Cheers, Paul.
Beautiful bike Rod, back in the day I had a dominator 99ss, it came with an Avon GP rear tyre and speedmaster mk 2 on the front. With those I never hit the deck. When the rear tyre wore out I couldn't quite afford a new Avon so settled for a Dunlop K70....what a mistake, the slightest hint of damp on the road and the bike would try and throw me off which it did several times, twice when it snaked under hard acceleration and twice when it snaked when braking and once when banking over on a bend that I knew well and had gone much faster and lower with the Avon GP on the rear! Good tyres are so important!!!!
What a beautiful bike, sounds fantastic too. Love it.
A beautiful classic sports bike. Nice details, I love the tank👍
Dave You Know Your Stuff Good Explanation on how to do things
Nice one Chris, thanks for your feedback!
I'm just jealous of Phil's hair! Good genes right there. Ha. Good idea on the rear shock brace.
Hi Dave, this is one amazing video man, throughly enjoyed it , thanks for posting.
great video
a mini master class on building a cafe racer and doing an engine swap, keeping it as simple as you can :-)
Lovely sound !!!!
Lots of history!
Great job Dave ,I love it
Very nice cafe racer. Great work. Love it.
Thank you very much Ger!
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! Cheers for watching!
He kicks it with a vengeance. 👍🏻
Fantastic, I know exactly what you mean, i wish i had your commitment. I have to put up with a collection of modern Royal Enfield's, but they look great and i can dream about a days gone by. Lester in Australia ex pom
Beautiful 👍
Got to get those featherbed frame some day.
That’s on nice bike❤️
Sure is Gerry, thanks for saying!
Double for The Fast Show
Dave Angel garage services?
Nice bike. I've always wanted a Rocket 3, and now I have one - just waiting for it to be shipped from the US. Tip: use an oil thermostat with these triple engines, as they take a long time to warm up, especially on colder days or short rides. Dave Madigan in the US makes a really nice one with a spigot for the rocker box oil feed.
Good call Peter, thanks for sharing!
If Phil wants the name putting on the tank I could sort that. The aluminium is very soft and needs a slight etching before paint or he could have stickers. I am a Signwriter by trade and in Leicestershire. Just a thought.
Thanks Hepcat, we’ll let Phil know next time we see him. You got a website etc?
@@TheClassicMotorcycleChannel he can contact me via Hickman Signs Ltd in Thurmaston, Leicester 0116 260 5406 after furlough ends (May 2021) or before via message on RUclips or Facebook: Ian McMullan :)
@@HepcatHarley Thanks Ian, we'll let him know when we see him next!
Everything is "classic passion".
Go on my son!
Nice video, thanks. I have just discovered your channel and it's great. I have a 1958 Norton Dominator 500cc that is stripped down and waiting for me to rebuild it. It also had the dodgy 70's fiberglass tank and seat unit that will not be reused. Where did you get the Aluminium tank from? It's a beauty!
Hi Jason, just asked Phil, here's their website address tabclassics.com/ thanks for watching the videos b y the way and your nice comments!
The Classic Motorcycle Channel That's very kind of you. Thanks very much!
Is gear shifting difficult on the right?
not like modern motorcycles, I haven't had the chance to drive one
I’ve just bought RGS replica built buy a guy called Len Haggis ...races a matchless G 50 ...it’s lovely bike but struggling to find people that know what they are doing to look after it .
I’m in the Southampton area .
Those velocity stacks look nice, but dirty air getting into those amals and the cylinder bores will cause problems. Then again, I am in dry, dusty old Australia, and maybe the green English countryside is less harmful.
Would you take 3000 quid for it?
If you put aviation fuel in tank, the problem of cleaning gas system after long time sitting disappears.
As you say looks great sounds great not the ride for me tho I’m a cruiser not a cafe racer king of guy
It's a lovely bike and well modified from when it was first purchased especially the alloy Lyta-shaped tank. You are the first I have heard explaining the true origin of the Triton using rolling chassis left over from the 500cc car racing series of the 50s I often tell people this but not always believed, thank you for that. A local company to me Crosley Cars from Hollywood in Northern Ireland built these cars and a few years back the former company owner Arnie Black raced it up a hill climb at Cultra, as it was technically a display he was allowed to run the megaphone exhaust as used in the day - display my butt, he drove that car hard and what a sound it made with the exhaust note resonating around the park. Unfortunately, I can't find a vid of that event but this is an example of the cars used in anger. ruclips.net/video/_1sc8ksh_sQ/видео.html
This is an example of the race cars Crossley build today sitting in the car is the most recent owner and standing the former owner Arnie (he is over 75 and still races a Crossley in the Formula Ford series all over Europe), I bought a bike from him a few years ago.
Hey Nightster, this is very interesting, thanks for sharing the video too! (from Alex)
This is a pure hooligans tool.
Difficult to start and don't stop? Like no triple I've ever owned.
And there is not much need to run that breather pipe to the rear. Triples don't pump out much from the breather if at all.
That was a quick 17 minutes.
Nice one Basin, thanks for watching!
Don’t want to use it for a getaway vehicle at a bank stick up unless you park it outside and running. Downside? May not be there when you come bolting out.
LOL
I had a nobsa, over 50 years ago, gold flash engine , handled like a pig
All the gear no idea dose not know how to start a British bike
Obviously you've never started an old british bike!
All the gear know idea you don't start a British bike like that.
Interesting observation! Perhaps you can start up a RUclips channel called "The Proper Method to Start a British Bike". If you do, you should get a spell-checker and someone to help you with punctuation. Otherwise you may be subjected to some critical comments.
Ha ha very funny I might have dislecsea but can build and ride British bikes and yes I can start them properly
@@peterdriver7816 I have no doubt you can start them quite properly. Just like all the other internet mechanics.
