Thank you so much for this video. I'm about to get ablation in 2 weeks. I don't know why my previous doctors never recommended it. I've been suffering with menstrual pain to the point where it was affecting my work. The amount of days I've lost because of this is just frustrating to think about. I'm so glad you're discussing this. I feel a lot more confident about this surgery because of your videos. Thank you. Thank you.
Love that you talk about women’s health. It is SO important! I often feel like women aren’t heard as much when it comes to health so I’m happy you put it all out there
As someone born immuno-deficient, and having numerous overlapping autoimmune diseases, it is very important to openly talk about them. They wax and wane, but never go away. Timely info., Jen, because what you're doing does lessen flares. It really is up to us. It took me years to be fully diagnosed, a real battle. If a doctor doesn't listen, move on💞🤗
Such a good perspective, Donna! And you’re so right - it really is all up to us both in terms of lifestyle and in being advocates for our own needs with our doctors!
Thanks for sharing. I’ve had a couple of incidents where doctors told me actual conditions and issues were caused by laziness or weight or just weren’t a problem. I love that you walked our of that office saying, Nope! I think too often women especially forget how to be our own best advocates. Thank you!
Jen, thank you for sharing your experience... you are a continued inspiration for me. I have Fibromyalgia & it takes over my life. Hearing how you are able to manage your autoimmune illness gives me hope!
I really appreciate your openness in sharing this personal stuff. I know it will help many. 💗 I have M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome along with a couple of other I identified autoimmune related issues and pains. You are so right when you talk about how when we haven’t had a flare for a while we get lax. 😬
A few days away from getting my ablation. I hope it works. I can’t believe it’s taken this long to find a doctor that would consider it and bring it up as an option for me (30yrs old, childfree, tubal ligation in the past) Your channel has been very helpful. My sincere gratitude to you.
How did it go for you, being that you already had a tubal? This is likely the route I'd like to go a few years from now! A long, heavy, atrocious period has felt like such a burden my entire reproductive life, and not wanting kids makes it feel even more pointless. This seems like a more practical route for me vs a hysto.
@@maddieschulz3537 hey! So, I had the tubal ligation in 2020. Was supposed to get the ablation at that time but chickened out. Fast forward to June 2021! My cycles kept getting worse so my doctor performed the ablation in June. Now it’s October and I only spot! The cramps I was experiencing before the ablation would be so bad I would vomit, now they are barely a 2 (on a 1-10 scale!) No more Debilitating pointless cycles and even more of a safeguard to remain child free! I have no regrets and wish you luck on your journey!
Then you should get your vitamin d levels checked. Most people don't even realize they are deficient. My level was at 10 and I would have never known to check for it and I'm coming to find out that it's been really affecting my quality of life. 40% or people are deficient it's best to just make sure your levels are where they should be. Good luck with your health journey.
Thanks for sharing! I’ve actually been wondering. I don’t know why but RUclips keeps recommending your Hashimoto video even though I’ve seen it. We definitely need to hear others talk about their struggles. So many creator, youtubers, influencers, celebrities, even friends and family, only talk about the positive things and don’t ever share the struggles. And of course everyone gets to choose what they share but it can make you feel alone or like no one else struggles or has health issues and or has a hard time getting everything done, it just applies to so many different areas of life, not just health. So I always appreciate when someone is willing to share. I’m so glad you’re doing well. I had never heard of a uterine ablation before so that was interesting. I always think the less invasive option should be explored first. It still maybe not be the best option for everyone but it doesn’t mean it isn’t a good option for some. I remember your previous video saying it had like a 30% chance of not working and my thought was “well that’s a 70% chance it will work. That’s pretty good!” Anyway, thanks for the update. We do care how you’re doing and I’m so glad it’s a positive update. And if/when you have an update that’s not so positive, we will be here for you then, too.
I'm glad you share!! So many people feel like it's not okay to discuss and I think that builds up and causes potential other issues, such as stress and anxiety! I suffer with awful anxiety and I don't hide it, it's part of me!
I just found this channel. I love your other channel but this really hits home due to my own diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Congratulations on your progress and God bless you,❤️
Getting that diagnosis can be scary but also a relief because there’s finally a why! It’s so hard to keep pursuing an answer when you’re being told you’re fine - so glad you kept working to get to the answer!
I also got an Apple Watch for Valentine’s Day because I’ve decided to get a better handle on what I was eating and really having no exercise and, like you, having these “goals” to reach us really working well for me too! Thank you for sharing and love that you’ve found a rhythm and lifestyle that is keeping the Hashimoto’s away and being free again after the ablation - that really IS Joyful Living! 😃
Thank you for sharing your journey Jen. Yes, reducing stress (I’ve retired from “paid” work early), IF, eating mindfully, listening to my body when it’s time to rest, helps a lot to address the Hashi issues. Going from defence to offence has helped with another auto immune disorder I had (Chronic benign neutropenia) to be resolved 🙏🏼
Great video. I am still eating between 8 and 6 because of watching your intermittent fasting video. It has helped me keep my weight under control and I do feel better when I am consistent. Not snacking at night while watching tv is huge for me!

Your point about giving your body a break from digestion is interesting. Digestion so often can be a cause of autoimmune disease. I went into remission a year ago from my Grave's disease but I haven't been taking as great of care of myself and I really feel it after the holidays. I am going to start reducing the trigger foods for myself but I think I will now look into what may be an ideal fasting period for myself. I'm glad you are doing so well!

I had a uterine ablation several years. I heavily bled for a solid year. I had to have blood transfusion and the doctors did nothing. I went to my dr and asked to have my tubes tied and said, “Hey, while you’re in there, can you fry the inside of my uterus.” The horses ass looked at my husband and said, “Are you OK with this?” My wonderful husband said, “Well, it’s her body so it’s her decision.” The dr said, “She can’t have anymore children after this.” I was 38 and done having kids. My husband said, “You need to stop talking to me. Talk to her and only to her”. Any way, the ablation worked for just under a year then the bleeding came back so I had to have a hysterectomy. The hysterectomy was an easier recovery than the ablation. I also have Hashimoto’s.
