Hiking Joshua Tree National Park: Hidden Valley Trail

Hidden Valley Trail was my favorite hike at Joshua Tree National Park! Hidden Valley is a one-mile loop hike through a scenic valley surrounded by large rock formations. Considered one of the easier hikes in the park (though there are stairs and rock steps at the beginning and ending of the trail), this trail is also one of the most popular hikes. Get here early because the parking lot can fill up quickly and the temperature can increase rapidly.
We made it to the trail at roughly 10am and the temperature was already at 105 degrees Fahrenheit. There are sporadic spots with shade thanks to the rock formations, though be sure to bring a hat and plenty of water. While only 1 mile, it's still a smart idea to be prepared on the trail.
