Ragi / Kezhvaragu/Finger Millet kozhukattai is a healthy dish enriched with calcium,iron.
Ingredients:
Ragi Flour-200 gr (Roast the Ragi Flour in an empty kadai before using it)
Grated coconut-4-5 tsp
Moong Dal-2 tsp
Small Onion-10
Green Chilie-2
Ghee-2 tsp
Coriander Leaves-Little
Curry Leaves-Few

Hi ma... I have tried this.. Taste is so good and nice... I used store-bought flour.. It takes very long time to cook.. I felt the flour is still raw after i have boiled it for nearly 30 min.. Kindly suggest whats the mistake i have done..

Make sure that the flour is moist as a whole. If there is any dry flour then the modak will not be cooked.Sieve it well before cooking it in the steam. Thank you.

I loved your Ragi kozhukattai. Made it last night for a simple dinner. It was fabulous. I have some gut issues and the Ragi was very well tolerated by my gut. Thanks a lot. The only thing I didn't do was to sieve it after adding water and kneading, because I didn't have a jaladai. But it came out really well and was tasty. My husband also enjoyed it. Thanks you for your wonderful explanations. I am going through your RUclips channel and can't wait to try out other things from there slowly.

salli samy Thanks for ur compliment.If you donot add hot water to the flour and leave it in the steam, Ragi Flour will not be cooked properly from all the sides.
Therefore don't skip step 1 .

Thank you mam.I tried it but I think there was a small mistake done by me but I can't find the reason. The kozhukatai became very dry and when bitten became powdery.please tell me what was the mistake. thank u in advance.
+Devi manjula If your kozhukattai is dry when you take,then it means the water is not sufficient. When the water you add to the flour is not sufficient then it will become dry and the flour will not get cooked.
