The problem is, Caleb still tries to write and play everything that they release. So he has run out of steam IMO. He would do well to accept input from others, I think it would add to their sound for the better.
I don’t think it’s really fair to compare this song to others of the modern day since It came out in 2014. Like yeah the hooks fall flat NOW but this band literally became one of the biggest bands in the scene in a MONTH
I'm a big Beartooth fan and you're 100% correct. They are overal pretty generic and they follow a formula. Most of their songs are catchy af and carry a broad appeal and are radio friendly. Are they changing the game? Hell No. Are they good at what they do. Yes. Sometimes the catchy shit catches you 🤣
I always say it, but Caleb Shomo always writes the best choruses. Even my least favorite Beartooth songs have fire choruses. I also consider Attack Attack!'s last album to be the first Beartooth album lol
This entire album has a huge nostalgia factor for me. It had a lot of influence on me and pushed me deeper into heavier music. Also, I don’t think either of you will get into Beartooth at this point considering how technical you both like your music. Anyways, have a great weekend dudes!
Honestly not sure if you guys would like beartooth. They kind of stick to a generic structure and maybe one of the choruses is catchy enough to grab your attention. But I feel like if you guys keep checking them out you'll have very similar reactions to this song. And this is coming from someone who got into metalcore because I started listening to these guys. So not a bad band but I just don't think it's for either of you!
I really liked their first album, everything since then has been good but not amazing. As far as a recommendation, check out the new Earth Groans song Shatter!
Dream Theater just dropped a new live video today from their upcoming live album/DVD “Distant Memories - Live in London”. The song they dropped today was Pale Blue Dot which was from their most recent album. Definitely check it out! You’ll be amazed. The mix is killer on it as well!
I love Beartooth, but I'll admit most of their songs are pretty generic, I'm not picky when it comes to metal songs but with their songs rarely do they change it up that's my critique.
I agree even though I'm a die hard beartooth fan I guess I just connect with the lyrics which I think the lyrics are there best thing but this album is probably there most "advanced albhm" but there not for everyone
Trent Wilson same on both sides. Generic, yes, hardcore fan, yes. Lyrics are always really good though and some songs have such badass riffs that it just saves the whole song. Always dead, bad listener are two riff heavy songs that come to mind
Holy shit lol I’ve been gone from the genre for so damn long I just realized that Caleb is the same Caleb from Attack Attack with the snake bites lol. I’m so ducking exited to explore the band some more
Ah The good old times when Beartooth were fucking incredible. Newer Records sadly didn't do anything for me. Btw after three years of hitaus Breakdown of Sanity released a FUCKING BANGER today! You guys have to check it out.
I could honestly care less about Attack Attack. They had some ok songs. I never was a fanboy or anything, but Caleb Shomo just puts forth so much of his being into his vocals. He reminds me of Mike Hranica of TDWP in that aspect.
I personally prefer Attack Attack! of the Shomo bands, but I am a sucker for Beaten in Lips by Beartooth. I do appreciate that they bring heavier music to a broader audience, but over all besides the one off songs every once and a while they don't do it for me.
Saw Beartooth live in ATL at warped tour 2017, and they were awesome! While I’m disappointed with their last release they’re still a big band for me, and I love them. But if this song isn’t your cup of tea then maybe y’all just don’t like this band. 😂
I honestly only really like their first album, and their first EP, mostly out of nostalgia, since it was once of the first hardcore/metalcore bands I got into, but I haven't really been able to really get into their newer stuff, cus it all DOES sound quite generic, so I tend to stick to what I know best.
You guys nailed it on this one to me. Beartooth has never really done it for me either. To me it's just bland metalcore that only got attention because of Caleb Shomo. Being cookie cutter is fine as long as it's not bland, like there still has to be those moments that grab you and pull you in. Like Breaking The Mirror by Fit For A King, kind of a cookie cutter song but the entire song is hooks and melodies that get your attention.
Personally I love this song. Mostly because I got into this band during a bad place in my life and this band just heavily resonated with me. Objectively pretty generic I do admit though.
Listen to I Have A Problem, or Bad Listener. Maybe even Enemy. This is a pretty generic song even for them, they do usually follow a structure but this maybe not the best possible introduction.
I'm glad you're honest! I've seen do many other reaction channels react to this and they just bob their head and give the cookie cutter reactions you'd expect to a rock band. I personally hate this song because it's so cookie cutter copy and paste.
I have a problem by beartooth is such a classic beartooth song for me btw.
Totally agree!! I reckon they would have preferred that, a bit more hectic.
It’s their best song by far
I honestly just love that entire EP
First one they ever released and it still slaps
The problem is, Caleb still tries to write and play everything that they release. So he has run out of steam IMO. He would do well to accept input from others, I think it would add to their sound for the better.

FUN FACT: Shomo wrote and recorded all the instruments for the album
And every album
fun fact: beartooth is technically just caleb shomo
@@lessur same with attack attack, wrote practically their entire discography
@@losingapathy except for the shit Austin did

Their music might not be all that technical, but it's raw, emotional, and fun to throw down to live.
Beartooth live is such a great experience. I saw them in the tour they did with motionless in white and it was 100% the best concert I’ve been to
This entire album has a huge nostalgia factor for me. It had a lot of influence on me and pushed me deeper into heavier music. Also, I don’t think either of you will get into Beartooth at this point considering how technical you both like your music. Anyways, have a great weekend dudes!
Breakdown of Sanity - Traces please
Defamed - doves...... this is a brand new song by ex: drown in sulphur members and is the most interesting disgusting song I've heard in ages!

Bro. yall gotta try "go be the voice" by them. Their first EP was the most entertaining album to me tbh
I really liked their first album, everything since then has been good but not amazing.

I just listened to this whole album for the first time this morning right before this video came out.
I love Beartooth, but I'll admit most of their songs are pretty generic, I'm not picky when it comes to metal songs but with their songs rarely do they change it up that's my critique.

I love beartooth..we need more beartooth on this channel..if u wanna give their other stuff a look.
I've jam this album so much man when he got out!
You know it bro, Breakdown of Sanity - Traces 🔥
Ah The good old times when Beartooth were fucking incredible. Newer Records sadly didn't do anything for me.

Beartooth - In Between. 👌👌👌
their first EP was dope
Btw in the description it should say this song is from the album Disgusting, not Disease
This song is a lot of fun to play on the guitar too😂
I personally prefer Attack Attack! of the Shomo bands, but I am a sucker for Beaten in Lips by Beartooth. I do appreciate that they bring heavier music to a broader audience, but over all besides the one off songs every once and a while they don't do it for me.
This song is from their album Disgusting, not Disease.
I think Caleb is really talented, but beartooth songs are so damn repetitive it's just hard to get into.
Yeah I liked the EP and the first album, but after that i just got bored. Disgusting was just Disease rinsed and repeated.
You guys should check out Within The Ruins, they’re very good. They just dropped a new song “Deliverance” that’s amazing!
Im gonna ask every time. Flannel?
The Black Briar by Saving Vice!!
Saw Beartooth live in ATL at warped tour 2017, and they were awesome! While I’m disappointed with their last release they’re still a big band for me, and I love them. But if this song isn’t your cup of tea then maybe y’all just don’t like this band. 😂
You should definitely check out the band Saving Vice and do a review for them! Check out their song Broken Window!
Deftones - Radiant City!! Best song on the new album!
I honestly only really like their first album, and their first EP, mostly out of nostalgia, since it was once of the first hardcore/metalcore bands I got into, but I haven't really been able to really get into their newer stuff, cus it all DOES sound quite generic, so I tend to stick to what I know best.
In between by Beartooth is another you should do.
Please react to : Chelsea Grin - The Sonnet Of Wretched, its one of their older songs.
the fat that beartooth can be talked about without mentioning attack attack! makes me feel super old!
React to SHREZZERS - PHOENIX
You guys nailed it on this one to me. Beartooth has never really done it for me either. To me it's just bland metalcore that only got attention because of Caleb Shomo. Listen to the song you never know
Tdwp put a new official out video today!
Yeah I feel the same way about these guys. They're good at what they do but it's not for me. Respect for Caleb for getting to where he's at though.
I prefer Aggressive and Bad Listener from them more.
Y'all should check out no place like home by valiant hearts
This song has one of the weakest choruses in all their earlier songs.
Beaten In Lips and I Have a Problem are two of their best hooks.
React to DISTANT-OEDIPISM!!! It's a song from hell!!!
you guys are always so critical about the "structure" for no reason lmao
Beartooth is the softest hardcore band there is
Please react to this☺
Leaves eyes-Chain of Golden horn
React to the new The Ocean please, especially recommending the opening track Triassic
Yes! Such a good album
Personally I love this song. Mostly because I got into this band during a bad place in my life and this band just heavily resonated with me. Objectively pretty generic I do admit though.
I'm the opposite, used to like this song but now whenever I hear it I get reminded of a bad place in my life and now I hate it lmao
Listen to I Have A Problem, or Bad Listener. Maybe even Enemy. This is a pretty generic song even for them, they do usually follow a structure but this maybe not the best possible introduction.

Eh Beartooth.
Tbh this is my least favorite song on the album. Body Bag is my personal favorite but this band pretty much doesn't get any more unique than this.
Man that was a boring reaction😂
But i understand its not everyones cup of tea
This Song didn't blow me away tbh. Not that it's bad it just didn't grab me. To each their own though🤘🏻
Great take guys, enjoyed the reaction, This song was painfully generic.
Buy a slipknot and use it
