Hey Mr. Goode. Great to see you back in the garage, man. Nice shoutout to tangles01... he's a good guy.👍 I've been following him for quite some time as well and can't wait to see both of you guys terrorizing the streets and track in the near future. As you said in this video, one step at a time, Dustin.😉 I think I speak for everyone here, although you had a setback, I'm so glad it wasn't a major one. I hope all is well and you get to see the fruits of your hard labor very soon. Thanks for the upload and have a great evening.✌
Heeeey Mick! Thank you for the nice words! I'm super thankful that the damage was what it was, and not worse. It definitely could have been muuuuuch worse. I hope that it all pays off as well. Thank you man!
@@Goodezilla Tangles, like tangled, but whit an S mate. Thanks for the shout out, I've been internet down for a couple weeks with the moving of house etc. The comments section is never short of a few expert engine builder either lol.
Could've used a drill on the valve tip and just pushed up against the seat for a small amount of time back out and go back, its a sloppy way of doing it but it works and its alot faster process.
Love seeing your videos man. I got my R32 GTR last year and I’m planning a build very similar to yours can i ask you a few questions? I live not too far from you in New Hampshire btw haha
Hello from the UK, Mr Goode! What kind of cleaning and prep did you do to the block and head before reassembly? I’m assuming you didn’t take the head to a shop to skim again as part of this fix (trapped plastic, head off, new valve, back together)? Thanks in advance dude.
@@utsavmamtora7503 Hey! Yeah, I didn't take it back to a shop for this. Since it was a new build with less tham 1k miles on it, there really wasn't much of anything to have to clean. The head gasket surface wiped up easy with some brake cleaner.
@@Goodezilla i mean the width of the line where the valve seats on it. There should be a spec if that line is too thick that means too much material taken off of valve and valve seat
@@AMIN206r15 I'm not sure to be honest. The head work was done at the machine shop to thier specs, but then I bent 1 valve sucking up a piece of plastic, so this video was just replacing the 1 valve and getting it to mate to the existing seat. It would have better to have the valve machined but I didn't want to take it back and wait longer (or spend the money at that point).
@@Goodezilla thanks bro I’m lapping all valves and have troubles with couple of them. The grinding compound caused some lines on the valve seats cause I didn’t move it up now I’m trying to fix it and I’m afraid I’ll take off too much material
LOL...nah man, still have my beard. Was just busy this weekend and wanted to get the video out. Plus I did the intro in the video so didn't need another one with my face :)
0:49 that sound effect got me off guard. Nostalgia haha love it! (and also that timing) Good to see you back.
hahaha yeah, that's my phone notification sound!

I hear that Tangles guy is sketchy, I wouldn't trust a thing he says.

That's an interesting idea. I just went with the tried and true method haha
Very cool!
Thank you!

back to the future chime @ 0:52 ?
Haha yup! My phone got a notification lol
Thanks man for your helpful video do you know the spec for the valve seat?
What spec are you referring to?

I think I might just tear down my R32 too, I want new cams, valve covers, and timing belt.
You don't have to tear it down for new cams and valve covers. Just have to reshim if you get new cams.
lapping is Zen sone stuff
say what? lol
Atleast only 1 valve to replace and lap and shim 😂😂 fun process.
Yeah, nice and time consuming! lol
@@Goodezilla but a good learning process also! Might be able to see how much of a smaller shim you'll need based off of the valve top difference.
WOOT I'm famous
If only I was famous! LOL

Ive been waiting too long
Thank you for watching!

No problem. Have a great day

A little saliva goes along way... pause. But for real, easiest way to keep plunger on.
haha yeah...well hopefully I'm done with this for a long time! :)
The real question is, why didn't you show your face?! Did you shave off the viking like man beard? ✌😂
