Backsplash just on the back wall! Also, in case you do more peel and stick in the future, flip the tiles pieces the other way and then you can just lay one on top of the next instead of having to lift up those flaps 😊
I was cringing a little bit (not in a bad way though, just because I have seen that specific peel n stick in another video!!) because the flip would've made it look perfect and at the end you can just cut it, so it fits to the end/corner of the wall. Nonetheless, it looks cute! I wonder if it didn't come with an instruction, as the other creator had the same issue figuring out how they were supposed to be put together.
Backsplash just against 1 wall or it would look odd that you don't have it on the other side.. Don't extend it. You're so uplifting and you just don't realize it. You bring light to us all. Silent viewer here, but felt the need to say how inspirational you are to many young lady! 😊

Chelsea!!! I really like the backsplash! I would definitely say wrap it around that wall, especially as the sink is near it - it just helps protect the wall a little from water and is easier to clean. Also, side note, when YT recommended your video a few months ago I went back and started from the beginning of your channel and I am so glad I did because I appreciate videos like this one even more now. I remember you saying you were not so sure about the green color in the kitchen, but combined with the white of the sticker tiles and the brown of the cabinets , the green on the wall looks pretty good. I personally would leave the tiles only on the back wall. That little bit of side wall doesn't add anything to the look. But it's YOUR kitchen and you should paint and decorate the way YOU want it. However , lol I know itz not my apt & all , but I’m a lil obsessed w that candle under the bathroom shelf: I want it GONE ! ( for safety reasons. Otherwise , it does look nice). Chelsea, I didn’t want to tell you this, but since we’re learning - you’re supposed to remove the tape when the paint is still at least a bit wet. If it’s dry, you might rip some of the paint off. But you can always just patch it up with a paint brush 😁😁👍

If you had gone cooler or "minty" it would look too "hospital green". I'm sooo excited for you that you're getting your couch. Oh and I have a nearly identical thing for the bathroom, not bamboo, teak, I got it at Marshalls and I've used it in my bathroom, livingroom, and now it's next to my bed with Nina's nighttime sleeping basket on it. They are very versitile. Don't feel alone if things feel slightly off kilter....Mercury just went retrograde, so it's like crazy out of sort full moon energy feeling. Today I wanted to slap someone, lol, and I never feel like that, it's not my nature, so I had to reboot my day. It so helps having Nina a) because she's adorable and b) because cuddling her takes me from a 10 down to a 2. And she deals with any stress by napping. You are moving forward and doing so great so applaud You for your bravery and creativitity. I love the backsplash. okay 2 suggestions, if UPS delivered the dishes and you have that broken one, they are awesome about replacing stuff. You can just go on their website. They sent me a check for the full amount to replace, I think I just scanned a receipt and took a picture. Just a suggestion. Now with the back splash, I'd keep it strickly to the back. You may want to hang art on either side or a size appropriate mirror. Having a mirror always give the illusion of more space. And well placed mirrors can refract the natural light in interesting ways. So there's my 2cents and for what it's worth your Christmas tree is lovely, anyone saying other wise is a Grinch. I noticed you liked the cups above the coffee machine for easy access. It also really seemed like you wanted your food in that cupboard and your silverware in the cupboard to the right. What if you hung your cups with small hooks under the cupboards, OR on the side wall next to it? Which would allow you to change the cupboards and still have cups near the coffee machine! 🤗❤️ A display of your favorite mugs really gives your apartment character, also fun for you to see them often! I display my cups and I love it! Maybe something to try if you’re interested!

I must admit that I love the color of the kitchen walls but I wasn't crazy about it next to the golden oak cabinets. BUT now that you've put the white peal &stick tile there it looks great! I also like it on just the back wall. You might consider peel and stick floor tiles or a piece of floor laminate for the floor instead of a rug. Kitchen rugs get so dirty and make it hard to clean spills. Also you roll your island around and your washing machine in and out so tiles would be easier. Your apartment is getting cozier by the day! Defo don’t continue the wall, I never used the stick tiles but if you was to turn the next tile upside down and slot into the grooves of the first one , then match the 2 straight edges would that have worked rather than the overlap ? I wasn’t sure? Maybe that would be too risky to leave gaps ? Xx

1. If you decide to extend the backsplash on the wall you might want to see how it looks extended on the other side of the wall by the doorway to the kitchen, it might make it look more balanced, or not, don’t know unless you try 😅 2. I’m in my last year as a 30 something 😬 and I just recently decanted all my spices into glass jars with bamboo lids with those nice white labels. And let me tell you, game changer. I didn’t realize how chaotic they looked before. 3. I highly recommend decanting your teas if they have individual packaging. Tea boxes also looked chaotic in my cupboard, I have a bamboo tea box but I’m thinking of getting some sort of clear acrylic box. And 4. You’re amazing and I’m absolutely LOVING your channel ❤
So cute! Loving how the kitchen is coming along. One suggestion I have is instead of thinking of your kitchen organization as food, dishes, etc think of it as zones of where you use things. My coffee mugs are with my coffee and tea supplies not with my dishes. My dry goods are next to my stovetop cabinet and my snacks are across the kitchen. That might help since it seemed in this video that you were conflicted on pieces (mugs versus plates or wine glasses) instead of organizing by where you use it. Half of a cabinet could have dishes and the rest of that cabinet be dry goods for example.
We have the same drainboard!!! I laughed because I also really love how it looks so neat and compact like it's hugging the dishes when it's full. I've had mine almost five years now and it's still going strong and the PERFECT size for small city apartments. It's so lovely to watch everything slowly come together. You're doing a great job!
Sharing your quirks is the thing that brings me back time and time again. It’s so scary to be vulnerable but the more we are, the more others (the majority) will feel comfortable in their own weird and confusing skin. Thank you for exposing yourself so that others may find the courage to so too ❤ I’ve yet to find another youtuber who’s this honest and open and optimistic about the ability to share. PS. Peel & stick tiles are meant to fit like puzzle pieces 😅 next time you do one make sure to slip the 2nd piece and it’ll lock into the 1st for a cleaner fit!
The kitchen looks lovely! The back splash was a great idea too, but I think if you’re not going to take it to the end of the counter on both sides then just leave it on the back wall. Are you allowed to put your furniture out on the street with a free sign because I think it will go fast. Can’t wait to see your new couch and the living room set up!
The good thing about it not being perfect is that it makes it even more realistic to how a real backsplash would end up! Looks fantastic in my opinion!
Your videos are such a nice break from all the vlogs with perfect homes and the ability to spend so freaking much money on decor and a lot of useless things. Sometimes i have been wondering if i could be a vlogger, but every time i was thinking about it, i also had the thought that my home had to be perfect and clean.. it really isn't. Not that i feel the urge to vlog but after i found you, the idea of vlogging at home doesn't feel hopeless, i know people appreciate the real side of life where it might take 3 weeks to do that small thing as to take down the tape. thank you for sharing the real side of things

As an older viewer and as you did not ask my opinion - hehe :) - can I recommend one gadget that I've come to love after standing in a kitchen cooking for 35 years: the airfryer. I am sorry you got rid of your dishwasher, I feel you. But if you don't need it then goodbye! I haven't had a microwave for 20 years. This fryer thing, tho! I got it going evey day: baking up fresh bread rolls in the morning, heating your pizza slices, baked mushrooms, making quiches, anything wrapped in bacon, baking muffins etc. etc. piece of fish without having to change any oil after ...I think it might fit your lifestyle pretty well. It's also way cheaper than using the oven. x
My one wee house tip would be to visit the thrift stores, got my sister into shopping in thrift stores and she's found so much cool quirky stuff for her house, ornaments, prints, mug sets etc, it's cheap plus it gets a 2nd life in someone else's home, and you'll never know what you could find, it's like a little treasure hunt 😂
Don’t feel any pressure to get settled in any faster than feels right to you & your whole system. You’ve been going through a lot of transition & there may be days when your nervous system is just a big “nope.” It’s OK. You could literally record yourself having a rest day & your viewers would watch because they’re here for you & not just for productivity. Any critics can go deal with their own stuff. 😂
Have to say the kitchen color is growing on me. It looks even better now that you removed the painters tape! Well since you have to order more, might as well continue the backsplash. Its looking great!
Love the backsplash! One idea is to buy under cabinet mug/wine hooks or rack to give you additional cabinet space. And maybe get a shelf to put your coffee machine on that has a drawer to hold your kcups for more space.

Also, another idea I had looking at the kitchen, the side of the island where the little holes are, you could hang art or a cork board or something on it. Can hang with command strips. But with that and a rug below it the kitchen would look so intentional. I would have never thought to put an island there and it’s such a game changer!

Chelsea, I didn’t want to tell you this, but since we’re learning - you’re supposed to remove the tape when the paint is still at least a bit wet. If it’s dry, you might rip some of the paint off. But you can always just patch it up with a paint brush 😁😁👍

Chelsea!😊 Your place is coming along great! Ignore the naysayers they're just jealous or have no life! The bathroom is cozy and adorable. And personally I love the green kitchen. If you had gone cooler or "minty" it would look too "hospital green". I'm sooo excited for you that you're getting your couch. Oh and I have a nearly identical thing for the bathroom, not bamboo, teak, I got it at Marshalls and I've used it in my bathroom, livingroom, and now it's next to my bed with Nina's nighttime sleeping basket on it. They are very versitile. Don't feel alone if things feel slightly off kilter....Mercury just went retrograde, so it's like crazy out of sort full moon energy feeling. Today I wanted to slap someone, lol, and I never feel like that, it's not my nature, so I had to reboot my day. It so helps having Nina a) because she's adorable and b) because cuddling her takes me from a 10 down to a 2. And she deals with any stress by napping. You are moving forward and doing so great so applaud You for your bravery and creativitity. I love the backsplash. okay 2 suggestions, if UPS delivered the dishes and you have that broken one, they are awesome about replacing stuff. You can just go on their website. They sent me a check for the full amount to replace, I think I just scanned a receipt and took a picture. Just a suggestion. Now with the back splash, I'd keep it strickly to the back. You may want to hang art on either side or a size appropriate mirror. Having a mirror always give the illusion of more space. And well placed mirrors can refract the natural light in interesting ways. So there's my 2cents and for what it's worth your Christmas tree is lovely, anyone saying other wise is a Grinch. I noticed you liked the cups above the coffee machine for easy access. It also really seemed like you wanted your food in that cupboard and your silverware in the cupboard to the right.
What if you hung your cups with small hooks under the cupboards, OR on the side wall next to it? Which would allow you to change the cupboards and still have cups near the coffee machine! 🤗❤️

I must admit that I love the color of the kitchen walls but I wasn't crazy about it next to the golden oak cabinets. BUT now that you've put the white peal &stick tile there it looks great! I also like it on just the back wall. You might consider peel and stick floor tiles or a piece of floor laminate for the floor instead of a rug. Kitchen rugs get so dirty and make it hard to clean spills. Also you roll your island around and your washing machine in and out so tiles would be easier. Your apartment is getting cozier by the day! I never used the stick tiles but if you was to turn the next tile upside down and slot into the grooves of the first one , then match the 2 straight edges would that have worked rather than the overlap ? I wasn’t sure? Maybe that would be too risky to leave gaps ? Xx

1. If you decide to extend the backsplash on the wall you might want to see how it looks extended on the other side of the wall by the doorway to the kitchen, it might make it look more balanced, or not, don’t know unless you try 😅
2. I’m in my last year as a 30 something 😬 and I just recently decanted all my spices into glass jars with bamboo lids with those nice white labels. And let me tell you, game changer. I didn’t realize how chaotic they looked before.
3. I highly recommend decanting your teas if they have individual packaging. Tea boxes also looked chaotic in my cupboard, I have a bamboo tea box but I’m thinking of getting some sort of clear acrylic box.
And 4. You’re amazing and I’m absolutely LOVING your channel ❤
So cute! Loving how the kitchen is coming along. One suggestion I have is instead of thinking of your kitchen organization as food, dishes, etc think of it as zones of where you use things. My coffee mugs are with my coffee and tea supplies not with my dishes. My dry goods are next to my stovetop cabinet and my snacks are across the kitchen. That might help since it seemed in this video that you were conflicted on pieces (mugs versus plates or wine glasses) instead of organizing by where you use it. Half of a cabinet could have dishes and the rest of that cabinet be dry goods for example.

We have the same drainboard!!! I laughed because I also really love how it looks so neat and compact like it's hugging the dishes when it's full. I've had mine almost five years now and it's still going strong and the PERFECT size for small city apartments. It's so lovely to watch everything slowly come together. You're doing a great job!

Sharing your quirks is the thing that brings me back time and time again. It’s so scary to be vulnerable but the more we are, the more others (the majority) will feel comfortable in their own weird and confusing skin. Thank you for exposing yourself so that others may find the courage to so too ❤ I’ve yet to find another youtuber who’s this honest and open and optimistic about the ability to share.
PS. Peel & stick tiles are meant to fit like puzzle pieces 😅 next time you do one make sure to slip the 2nd piece and it’ll lock into the 1st for a cleaner fit!
The kitchen looks lovely! The back splash was a great idea too, but I think if you’re not going to take it to the end of the counter on both sides then just leave it on the back wall. Are you allowed to put your furniture out on the street with a free sign because I think it will go fast. Can’t wait to see your new couch and the living room set up!

Your videos are such a nice break from all the vlogs with perfect homes and the ability to spend so freaking much money on decor and a lot of useless things. Sometimes i have been wondering if i could be a vlogger, but every time i was thinking about it, i also had the thought that my home had to be perfect and clean.. it really isn't. Not that i feel the urge to vlog but after i found you, the idea of vlogging at home doesn't feel hopeless, i know people appreciate the real side of life where it might take 3 weeks to do that small thing as to take down the tape. thank you for sharing the real side of things

As an older viewer and as you did not ask my opinion - hehe :) - can I recommend one gadget that I've come to love after standing in a kitchen cooking for 35 years: the airfryer. I am sorry you got rid of your dishwasher, I feel you. But if you don't need it then goodbye! I haven't had a microwave for 20 years. This fryer thing, tho! I got it going evey day: baking up fresh bread rolls in the morning, heating your pizza slices, baked mushrooms, making quiches, anything wrapped in bacon, baking muffins etc. etc. piece of fish without having to change any oil after ...I think it might fit your lifestyle pretty well. It's also way cheaper than using the oven. x
My one wee house tip would be to visit the thrift stores, got my sister into shopping in thrift stores and she's found so much cool quirky stuff for her house, ornaments, prints, mug sets etc, it's cheap plus it gets a 2nd life in someone else's home, and you'll never know what you could find, it's like a little treasure hunt 😂
Don’t feel any pressure to get settled in any faster than feels right to you & your whole system. You’ve been going through a lot of transition & there may be days when your nervous system is just a big “nope.” It’s OK. You could literally record yourself having a rest day & your viewers would watch because they’re here for you & not just for productivity. Any critics can go deal with their own stuff. 😂

One idea is to buy under cabinet mug/wine hooks or rack to give you additional cabinet space. And maybe get a shelf to put your coffee machine on that has a drawer to hold your kcups for more space.

Also, another idea I had looking at the kitchen, the side of the island where the little holes are, you could hang art or a cork board or something on it. Can hang with command strips. But with that and a rug below it the kitchen would look so intentional. I would have never thought to put an island there and it’s such a game changer!
