The finest band of the 1980s. Timeless. This looks and sounds like it could have been done yesterday. Thanks.
What happened , it was the pick of crop back in day , usual suspects dare say
Says a lot that I still listen to this like 37 years later. Rock has stood still for a long time. Who will advance it?
Eight Rounds Rapid might be worth a punt?
For those who want to learn and play drums. This is the band to strive to play like. The rhythm section is amazing and the vocals and guitar just fit in perfectly. Really one of the best Rock and Roll/Punk/Country songs i ever heard.
I'm not a musician even less a musicologist but I know when a song is good and I wholly agree with all what you said. You just know this song is good almost immediately. Love at first sight.
Oh God yes! If I recall correctly he did not really stop drumming all night. Yet you were aware of the end of song and start of new one. That was so cool and what STAMINA they had!
Beatbox
So magnificent what a drive. Best of everything
How I wish more people got to experience this band live. It was like being attacked by lions and I LOVED every second. Mad mosh!
They were Brutal, it was an experience like no other to be sure, appreciate your comment
Simply the best live band I ever saw - 5 times! Love your comment!
I so wish that I could have that experience. Good on you man! 😎
I can only agree - that pretty much sums it up. What an experience...
I saw them in Pittsburgh with drivin' and cryin' - stupendous show. I may have lost some hearing.
Kenny Harris' drumming is phenomenal on Wild Blue Yonder. Saw the band a couple of times in the mid-80s--they brought the house down both times.
Kenny was definitely a powerhouse and precsion drummer, matched with Chris Thompson they were rock solid unbeatable, happy Live memories eh?
You HAD to of been there...travelled down from Brum to see them at the Marquee in London.....Devastating
Life changing performances, they were tight and deadly live, nice one Andrew
I was also at that gig - they opened with Sweet Water Pools ... and I was never the same after :) Great post Andrew
saw them open open up for the Cramps in 85…thank you.
Nobody kills a Telecaster like Billy, not even George Thorogood.
I agree, but he is heavily influenced by Wilco Johnson which is what brought me to this band. I cant belive I missed them when they were around.
fuck you were so fkn swesome man..... $$$$$$????? one of the best bands of that time. really great
Brilliant stuff
I WANNA BE A' SCREAMING BLUE MESSIAH' BABY!
Fucking AWEsome!! Saw em at The Mean Fiddler in Harlesdon back somewhen...
I was in London in '88 (age 24) - over there on my big O.E. (overseas experience) from here in New Zealand. I was dossing in a flat in North Acton with about 6 other Kiwis all from New Zealand. There was a 'TNT' magazine lying around so I decided to read it and found an advertisement in it for The Screaming Blue Messiahs. They were going to play 2 gigs just around the corner from the flat in The Mean Fiddler 1st and 2nd September '88. I can't remember which gig I attended now. I have never forgotten how LOUD it was though. Think I was deaf for 2 days. Gig went off though big time. We may have been at the same gig who knows?
Blues have been an integral part of my musical influences but it was guy's like screaming blue messiahs/iggy pop who opened the door to me understanding where and what makes a good influence to aspire from /this track bleeds the very soul from my hands that's a compliment.
Living in New York City, I talk to a lot of record industry people and I'm amazed when I mention the Screaming Blue Messiahs and they indicate they have never heard of them.
It's unbelievable but I'm not surprised, we got lucky and I feel good about knowing this best kept secret :o)
Your mistake is expecting music industry people to know music.
Thanks for this! Never seen before...
I always dig this tuna! Excellent song!
Saw them in Geneva Switzerland 1988, they killed all contestants that day including the Gun Club
Nice 😉, some things just stay with you, excellent testimony, cheers

billy boy great artists screaming blue to tell yous.good son.
I was thinking of this when saw airplane flying west-east over the mexican restaurant by the friegt harbor just after stepping off flex. Followed the paramedic (cute, but freaking pissed) as she drove to back door. I liked the way she turned the wheel and needed to check. Coincidental and incidental. What Happened UCLA-CSU vollyball game? Four engines or could have been tri-star?
👍🤠
💪💪🔥🔥👍
Still here
Cheers Bud, have a look at the coco the town video, an unheard track that the Messiahs didn't ever record in the studio
Science fiction
I woke up this morning bent on destruction in an ivory tower on the sunny side of the street….a mission from god. The definition of epic bombastic elimination of all TrumpTraitors.
