First game I've seen without a cliff hanger ;). I wish you would stop making these games look so much fun, you're costing me a fortune. Oh well, keep up the good work and I'll keep supporting my local game store staff.
Man I really want to try this game out now! Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but at 37:00 I think Jen shouldn't have gone to the Market. If she had gone to Sultan (get a gem) -> Jail (send to post office) -> (summon worker) Gemstone Vendor (get a gem) -> (summon worker) Large Market (sell ring from post office along with her other goods) -> Gemstone Vendor (get a gem), she would have ended with 0 gold but two rounds earlier, winning her the game.
I think I found another way for Jenn to push it to the tie-breaker and lose: At about 39:00 she goes to the police station and grabs her nephew, if she instead sold the measly two goods to the large market she would have grabbed 7 money I believe, putting her at 35. She then buys the next gem for 19, dropping her to 16. Her next move she drops back to the large market, she still has one of every type of non-ring good, so even on a triple ring (which is what popped up) she could sell again for 7, bringing her up to 23, which is enough to grab her sixth gem after Rahdo grabs his sixth, but only leaves her with 3 money, so loss on tie-breaker.
A question on strategy -- does the large market pay off enough that it's worth selling the rings to buy gems instead of going directly to trade (donate?) goods for gems? Since things get more expensive as the game goes, I suppose it depends on how much either spot has been used. But in the mid-game, I think Jen could have done better by trading the goods like you were doing. It would have made it more difficult for you to keep up because you hadn't upgraded your cart at all at that point, and then she could have gone back to selling and buying once you were stymied. I think. :P
big market has better return than small market definitely (especially at 3 or 4 items, IIRC). and like you say, which is the best place to go? depends on board layout and other player locations :)
Around 2:00 when you bought the jewel form the palace, you paid an "any"-cost that seemed to only apply to a 4/5 player game, based on the "tab" over it...?
If you had stacked the neutral assistant on top of the green assistant in the police station, as indicated in the annotation, would you be able to pick them both up at the same time had you gone back to that tile? Also, would they have both been summoned back to you at the fountain area if they were stacked? Basically, would they act as a single unit?
neutrals aren't summoned back to the fountain ever. not sure which annotation you mean regarding stacking the neutral on top of the green though, but you never have free assisntant stacked on top of each other in the game...
Jen has that card that can summon back an assistant. Can she summon back a white assistant? Because if she can then that would allow for some interesting moves preventing the opponent from getting their white assistant.
I think near the end you wated a turn for Jen. Instead of moving her to police station, you could have sent her back to the big market, so she could have made a small sale. Than she could have bought a gem, than again she had to move to the market a nd make tha small money she needed to buy the last one.
you probably wouldn't enjoy playing games with me and Jen IRL then, as we're very friendly and forgiving players, and let each other backtrack all the time :)
I think what happens is that you only backtrack for yourself and not for jen. Also you do it after you see what jen can do. I am also very friendly but if a the 2nd player started their turn, only in rare instances is it allowed to backtrack
hehe, don't take this the wrong way, but i suspect my wife and i would not enjoy playing games with you and your friends, and the feeling would probably be mutual :)
Do you and your friends make run-through videos of games? Do you play more than one player each at the same time while holding a camera, all while trying to explain the game to people? LOL
correct. if a player's assistant is there, you can ignore it. but if the player themselves (the piece with the sticker) is there, you have to pay them to use the tile :)
I hate how Rahdo undoes his moves but will happily let Jen be incredibly inefficient. Definitive bias. WHEN WILL JEN WIN!!!!
HaHa, I was going to say the same thing. Easy to beat Jen when you CHEAT. Poor Jen.

also could have sent the nephew to the small market instead which would have given enough money for both purchases.
Jen can't sell at 5:40. She sold those goods previously but Richard didn't remove them from her cart.

Really great job with the goofs Paulo!
This game looks really fun.
Thanks for the nice video.

that 4/5 is for setup, not gameplay. during setup, if you're in a 4/5 game, a gem would have covered that space. :)
At around 7:40 you went to the "Carpet Warehouse" where Jen's worker was but you didn't pay her the two bucks.

WeR2VEVO it's been awhile, but i don't believe that's allowed :)
This is a darn goof-intensive game.

So much backtracking. I'm sorry to nitpick, im a huge fan, but i find it irritating.

20:30, the correct move was to the post office.
at almost half hour you forgot the bonus for catching the nephew
he did receive the bonus... at 30:04 he choose to receive $3 instead of the Card
for me and my friends, it is a sin to backtrack , wouldn't allow it, period

rahdo yeah no offense taken, anyway i learned a lot from your video, thx man
Do you and your friends make run-through videos of games? Do you play more than one player each at the same time while holding a camera, all while trying to explain the game to people? LOL
Or is it only when the "face" token is there?
correct. if a player's assistant is there, you can ignore it. but if the player themselves (the piece with the sticker) is there, you have to pay them to use the tile :)
At 34:20, you didn't move down the last ...um... toggle
Note added... Thanks :)
