The fast focus without a backup ring to lock it is the weak point of all those scopes that are similarly made, they all look the same and I believe it just a different paint job, the fast focus shifts and throws of the cross hair, thus causing a hell of adjustment problems.
Looks like an awesome scope I recently bought the Hawkw Sport-HD 4x32 AO for my crosman optimus, I'm very happy with my purchase but yours looks even better.
I'm looking to buy the same Hawke 4x32, how is it holding up to your rifle's vibrations?
I love my Hawke vantage and ir etched
Very good review 👍👍👍
DAMN, this was hugely helpful. i know nothing at all about guns or scopes so this was amazing and i had already decided on the TX200 MK3, going to get the vortek PG4 full power kit too. Why would someone not go with the larger 4-12x40? and why not go 50 also?
A 50 has to be mounted higher than a 40, reticles are different, weights are different, etc. Ounces and millimeters add up and can be significant depending on usage. Learning about mil vs moa, second vs first focal plane, how to calculate holdovers using each are all factors in choosing a scope. Learn all you can and apply it to gain experience. You will be better at all of it.
Hi. Can I use the Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 ao on a Gamo HPA whisper 4.5 mm? The scope that came with a 3-9x40 w1pm has some blur and can't be adjusted the dioptrie. Thank you.
Question ... I have hear that a Hawke scope is one of the best for an Air Rifle? I am looking for/at a .22-.25 Break-Barrel for hunting small game, to possibly a larger one? Something massive is coming down real soon, and everyone will be hunting just to stay alive.
This comment is aging VERY well ! Can you predict the future or what ?
Is this a good scope for my 20 joule 5,5mm air rifle to shoot in the backyard (10 - 20 meters) ?
If you need a sun shade for on of these, or in my case the Vantage 3-9x40 AO, its £18 from Hawke inc postage. However £7.99 inc postage buys you an aluminium 49mm cylindrical lens hood from Amazon. Slightly shorter but does the job.
Sun shade will most likely block the loading port of an underleaver or side leaver
You over looked the length of the scope Yes I'm shopping
Hi i have Diana 350 Magnum and i order Hawke 4-12x40 AO Vantage with Diana Mount Bullseye ZR. Do you think it will work out?? Thanks for reply
I’m about to do the same thing
How did things turn out for you
@@ziddodiddo it’s good enough %85 but i have HW98 it’s very good with any scopes
Planning to buy this for my gamo swarm magnum do you think it would hold or break?
Are the sidewinders springer rated? IE for a TX200
I got the 4-12×40 with my gamo big power 👍👍👍
Hows it holding? I just nought the gamo swarm magnum 10x .22 and just ordered the hawke airmax 4x12
I’ve got one
First ten shots
.4 at 40
After that can’t get it under 2.5
Everything is tight
Nice scope but can’t handle it
That’s the third scope on my rifle
Don’t know what to do
Sounds like everything is, in fact, not tight.
For that money get a SWFA scope which can hold up to 50BMG recoil.
Hi, I wonder if you could help please, I've just bought an ags 4 x40 scope, it says the parallax is set to 35yards, will it still be ok for shooting fairly accurately at less distances, around 10 yds or more. Thank you
It will if you have good form and don't move your head around...
Would this be suitable for a rim fire rifle if I wanted to use it for that (.22lr)
yes, checked with Hawke.
absolutely, ideal for a .22 LR rifle however Hawke make a rim fire scope that has a calibrated reticle either for sub sonic or HV ammo which would be very useful and a similar price...
how Long they Last on a springer ?
They are rated for spring airguns.
How's the scope holding up?
Pretty good. I've swapped which gun it's on (now on a springer) and still going strong.
I got a lot of use out of it and it held up very well, but I've sold it now as I no longer had a use for it.
I love my airmax 3x9x40 on my RWS 34
what mount are you using with this setup?
@@HughG.Rection101 rws dropper mount with medium rings after 150 to 200 shots the scope does not hold zero. Hawke sent me a new one under warranty. The replacement is now not holding zero after 125 shots
I really like the scope. I wish it would hold zero more than it does. I am shooting with a RWS 34 FROM 2008
The dropper mount is for a rws to weaver for weaver rings. The short rings should work, I have the medium rings on mine
@@stevethompson6197 that is the same mount I have my eye on at the moment
We're can I get one
Nice scope , got a panorama EV scope 4x12-50 with a L4 reticle ( centre dot ..) an extremely clear and full veiw out if it ( EV ) .. cannot for the life of me , and ive searched believe me ..find another ..it came with the rifle ( FX Typhoon ) with two tins of FX pellets ( worth £38 ) ( thats right £19 for 500 ) and bag .. all BRAND NEW .. for £350 .... hows that for a bargain?
Oh yeah ... and 2 packs of targets ..
I have one of them Scopes, I got it from Optics Warehouse. Not got a rifle for it yet tho.
TechGaming45
I'll check it out ... Cheers
All this is cool except the price. In my country it cost about 240£..
Most scopes that can handle air rifle recoil cost a lot more.
EV must imply European Version.
