Good morning Jim and Stephanie. I love and appreciate these information videos. You have so so many leaves. Mowing them really reduced the size and looks like a great mulch. Thank you for sharing your great expertise and knowledge with us. 😊
Why is it so fun to watch others work 😂 Seriously, we truly enjoy your channel. These old "experienced" gardeners can still learn something new. The Weekly garden planner is excellent. We don't have many issues with leaves here in the NC Sandhills, we are always dealing with a ton of natural pine straw dump from our very mature and gorgeous longleaf pines. Wish there was an easy way of dealing with that. Just raking it off the top of shrubs doesn't work very efficiently. We do a lot of hand clean up on most trees and shrubs. Any ideas? A little pine straw on shrubbery or small trees is charming, but they would be buried if we didn't constantly work at this.
I am so glad you cherish your long leaf pines! We love them too and just planted two to replace some oaks we lost in Milton. Maybe you should tell people “free pine straw” and have them come to take it, cleaning your property in the process. I am mostly just kidding…but my neighbors do pay a lot of money to do pine straw mulching on their properties. 🤷♀️
I try to “mow” (with the mower high and in mulch mode) the leaves as soon as a decent amount have fallen and continue until leaf drop is done. It’s a lot easier than trying to blow them anywhere! I have two acres of hardwoods next to me, so there’s a ton of leaves.
That tall pine behind the shed, is that ivy growing on it? It caught my eye because I am in an epic, years-long battle with ivy in our woods from where a predecessor planted some 50 years ago. I curse her under my breath every day.
In the spring if you have a pressure washer I think if you hit that Concrete in front of the house along the road it would make the front of your house looks so much better don't take it the wrong way Jim it's just me I hit my sidewalks in front of my house once a year in the spring just to give it a nice clean look
Instead of moving leaves to drive to mow/mulch ; get a leaf mulcher/bager BUT don't use a bag . Move mulcher around as you work and mulch right back onto ground. Worx offers a light weight relatively inexpensive unit with adjustable legs and folds down to nothing for storing.
I'm so glad you address leaf removal. I see SO many gardeners tout the "Leave the Leaves" campaign without providing any context to what conditions are appropriate for that and what aren't. This is the City of Oaks for a reason. Other plants will get completely buried under leaves where they will be blocked from air and sunlight. They'll also be surrounded by voles taking advantage of hiding under those leaves, creating a great place for them to feast on the roots of your plants.
I wish more people would "leave the leaves" and use them for mulch like you do. They are natures fertilizer.
Love your channel!
Looks good Jim! I’m betting that you’ll have a vine planted at the base of the Trachycarpus in the next year or two 😂
Envy you that good looking "trunking palm". ...from Missouri. Sure enjoy these clean up videos.
Gardening, cleaning time..😅happy holidays, everyone.. Merry Christmas ,Mr. Jim ,Stephany .🙏. 🎄.❤

Here in Southern California, I run the lawn mower over my avocado leaves when I cut my lawn. Once they are cut up they really are not noticable. 😊
How exciting
I love watching my plants grow up, I can imagine the pride you two take in your palm and garden as a whole

Good morning ☀️
So relaxing to watch.🍂🍁

Many Windwill palms here in La Ventana, Baja, Mexico. There are over 8 on our property here in the desert by the Sea of Cortez.
Hugs Jim! Your helping garden! Huggicates!😊
Hey Jim, what kind of blower are you using? It looks like it's fairly light weight & does a great job.
Good morning! Jim, is that a small Thunderhead pine next to your driveway? I just planted one about that size in zone 8A in Seneca, SC. Thank you
مسبرة موفقة🎄🎄🎄🎈🎈🎂👍🏼🍺

I don't take anything poorly. I agree that a spring washing goes a long way. Thanks for watching

I've shown that same leaf mulcher on the channel. It is a bit flimsy over time. I'd like to get a better one at some point
