Cardiac Failure - Patient Testimonial (Mr. Bhosale) | ESMR Treatment | Dr. Rahul Patil -Cardiologist

Sarjerao Bhosle a resident of Ahmednagar district, currently aged 63 suffered a heart attack. In year 2015 the patient suffered from a heart attack with almost 99% & 80% blockage in the arteries, post which he underwent an Angiography and Angioplasty. After a duration of one year the patient complaint profuse sweating, loss of breath while speaking and unable to perform daily activities.
It is when Mr. Sarjerao came to know about Dr. Rahul Patil who he consulted. The condition from which the patient suffered was an heart failure. When a patient was suffering from loss of breath while walking or talking, or wakes up from sleep due to loss of breath. These symptoms are known as heart failure.
When the patient visited Dr. Rahul Patil the patient was suffering from extreme loss of breath and when we performed his 2D Echo test, his heart pumping capacity was hardly 18%. Heart was dilated as so he was suffering from these various symptoms, known as heart failure.
Patients who have undergone an angioplasty in the past, in such patients we firstly stabilize the patient and perform angiography and then decide the further plan of action. But as the patient didn't want to undergo an angioplasty surgery Dr. Rahul Patil recommended him ESMR treatment.
Extracorporeal shockwave myocardial revascularization (ESMR), it is a treatment in which shock waves are given to the heart at the point of blockage. Which clear the blockage and create new blood vessels, increasing the blood supply to the heart. When the blood supply to the heart is increased the pumping capacity of the heart increases and the symptoms of the patients tend to improve. Its been more than 5 year and patient walk 6 Km daily without any problem. He takes 4 regular medicines, follows all guidelines, has reduced his salt intake, drinks 1.5 liters of water as suggested and comes for regular check ups. As he has been following all the suggestion and due to the treatment received, he is able to lead healthy life now.
