    I enjoyed your video. This is my favorite Lisa Jewell, but I say that having read The Family Upstairs immediately followed by The Family Remains. The two, being read together, have so much more depth and many of the niggling confusions and questions are answered by reading both.

    What a strange premise lol. Too bad it wasn't a full 4+ star book for you! Have you read The Silent Patient? Many are putting that as one of the best thrillers this year. I personally loved it!
    I just found your channel from @aurabux 's baby tag! I'm glad I did!

      Yes, the Silent Patient is also an excellent read. Both are pyschological thrillers.

    Why dont youtubers state if there's spoilers or no spoilers- so annoying.

    Just found your channel and subbed :) Just posted my review for this book too ! I love Lisa Jewell! My favorite too is Then She Was Gone...honestly such a great book. Jewell has such great character development. I agree that I wouldn't recommend as a first experience with Lisa Jewell's writing, however I did really enjoy it.

      @@veereads4988 Thanks so much! Me too :) I have heard a lot of great things about I Found You, one of her other novels. I am thinking of possibly reading that one next month. Many people say it is their favorite of all her books! Happy reading :)

      VEEREADS I haven’t read anything by her! But I feel like a book like this sounds like a really good book to discuss with other people🤔

    This was my third book by Jewell; not my favourite. I too would give it 3.5 stars. For me, I just thought WAY TOO MUCH happened in the last 1/3 or so of the book. It started to beggar belief, each twist & revelation. I think dialing back on that would have made for a stronger novel. I did find the very last part of the book (like, the last few paragraphs) chilling.

    Thank you so much for the honest review. I would have a really tough time with the child abuse. Thanks for the warning and I plan to try her first book.

    Somebody who has read this book pls temme why did Henry put a GPS and video tracker on Libby's phone on the night at the apt.. why did he want to kno if she would go meet Clemency .. This part of the book and the motive is unclear to me !

    • @veereads4988
      @veereads4988  4 года назад

      Good question! My impressions of Henry was that he just didnt trust anyone, especially Libby when he thought she might be entitled to something. I think he wanted to keep track of her to have an advantage in case he needed to make quick moves. Whats your thoughts?
