Been watching since the start of Leroy. After watching for a while, inspired to do my own build. Built a motor and getting ready to drop it in. Setting it up with the AEM infinity. Watching these episodes, it finally dawned on me, why am I just watching? I should be chasing bald eagles too. Thanks for getting me off my lazy ass and finally doing something about it.

10.0 is pegged rich on most widebands. You could have pulled some fuel and been around 10.5-11.0 and still been very conservative, at least you would know where you were really at. Too much fuel can be dangerous too. Just my 2 cents. Can't wait to see the 8 brother!

That's about the time I first found Cleetus... one of the turbo whistle videos and then didn't watch anything from the channel for a while and then all the sudden I stumble across a video of him and a twin turbo Leroy and I was hooked... Seen every video since the first Leroy video.

I appreciate their good audio but I mostly watch on my phone during break so it makes so difference to me. Although when I'm watching on my PC with headphones I always get chills
On my Hesh 3 headphones I can really tell the difference between when they use the go pro and when they are using a phone just by the audio. The go pro has a lot more depth to the sound.

ProTip, having such little timing will mean the exhaust gas is hotter as it exits the valve thus spooling the turbo faster, that’s why you can’t get boost under control.
Why was he so reluctant to turn up the timing? Isn't it worse having less timing than more?
@@djsteviebwony7 By turning it op he means going from 10° before top dead center to 17°-18° before TDC. If you have too much timing like 25° before TDC you'll create a lot more stress in the engine parts. Because your fuel detonation wil actually try to slow the piston down... So igniting earlier (more timing) is worse for your engine than ingiting later (less timing).

This happens more under 5-10 degrees btdc , not usually above that ... Look at twostep and antilag timing. Though i agree and you can actually detonate from to little timing as well. he is good, safe for now and has room for more if he wants ....
Fellas, did you forget, "the dyno isn't going anywhere." Save it for another time. Inexperienced tuning is what is at show here. Why blow up your car on the dyno. We build it, race it, break it and do it over again. Not we build it, dyno it, break it. What's the point of a fast car if you can't ever get to drive it?

Problem is, what you & 98% of America thinks, thanks to movies, is a bald eagle screech is actually a red tailed hawk. Bald eagles make a rather unimpressive collection of small sqwuaks & whistles.

vincent abbruzzese it would definitely be a good race but isn't Cleetus's engine a lot bigger than a 5.3?? With the new rotating assembly I'm sure they would go with more stroke. Both are hauling ass though. I hope they race though either way.
ruby's going to be faster than Leroy by the end of this race season
gnarkiller not really Leroy has way more engine and is sleeved a regular 5.3 will crack up at elevated power levels and throw the head gasket (4 bolt heads)

Ruby doesn't have to have as much power to go as fast because it doesn't have the aerodynamics of a sheet of plywood like leroy does
@@msengineeringdavid3702 aero and a powerglide will bridge the power gap. the glide will also let him launch like a monster consistently. not hating on either setup but i think ruby will show a lot of people how much speed Leroy gives up being a manual car with an exo cage.
gnarkiller if you think running 7’s will happen with a setup as simple as this you’re smoking crack. They will need to change the engine fuel and turbo setup and then get the cage changed but it will not automatically run 7’s.

A weathered block is the best block. Look at BMW 4cyl turbo F1 cars. they made 1300hp with old street cars blocks.
