This song is my favorite because of something very interesting I’ve seen pointed out: Mafuyu is shown looking at the ground or generally detached from everyone else. This is because Mafuyu has no identity that she is aware of. The song is about embracing your identity, but Mafuyu cannot, and her behavior in this video showcases that.
I saw her looking down at 1:47 and at the beginning, nice attention to detail. Good eye.

@@azurlynne she lived her entire life being told what to enjoy or who to become by her parents, mostly her mother. this results in her having to bottle up every emotion and cast aside any ambitions she had to please them, hence having no identity that wasn't fabricated to make her parents happy. in the imprisoned marionette story she has a panic attack when she realizes how her mother's control on her life has resulted in her loss of self

@@latyus even though it’s incredibly reasonable for her to be like that. What it looks like is that she’s just completely out of it for the entire song. Looks like she didn’t get enough sleep, or she is just completely thinking about something else like noodles or something. I found that a little bit funny despite knowing the actual reason. Very good creative choice, despite me missing the point.

I accidentally replaced mafuyu with Emu and it was jarring. Emu actually looked sad. Really great song though. Mizuki is my favorite character and deserves all the love.❤

This song was the first time I had heard MEIKO sing and let me say, I love her voice. Definitely one of my preferred songs from Nightcord
Meiko has many good songs but they're hard to find. She's hard to tune.
So I'd STRONGLY recommend to you all of the Meiko Justice playlist (a series of 5 or 6 covers trying to bring Meiko's potential to spotlight), and of course the classic The Snow White Princess Is cover using Meiko! There are a lot of original (good) songs too, but I wanted to show the best of the best

I love the fact that throughout the MV mafuyu looks kinda off and detached from everyone else almost like if she's in her own world, the songs about embracing your personality, but mafuyu doesn't really have one, that's why she seems so depressed and shows no interest throughout the video and her dancing goes from fast to slow in some parts of the choreography.

This song gives me the chills. It’s literally so pretty but at the same time it feels kind of sad. It’s just SO AMAZING! And the vocals! They all sound so good in this song which instantly forced me to get covers for each night cord girlie. Just a masterpiece to my ears. Most of the time I prefer upbeat songs but this is just too good for me to pass up.

I actually have a theory about the light turning from pink to blue. As most of you know mafuyu have indentity issues but the others does not. for me this song tells a story about mafuyu and mizuki, them being the mcs of this story. I think that this is why the lights are pink to make a direct reference to saki's physic and childish behavior in general. from saki's pov everybody around smile and enjoy the music ( wich is a representation of life for me ) that express their identity, everybody except mafuyu. then we move to mafuyu's pov this is why the lightning suddenly became darker, her vision of life is sad , empty and sorrow ( also everybody stops smiling ). then the lights suddenly turns blue as a representation of mafuyu finally finding hope in life, finally being who she really is ( wich represents the moment where she found her true feelings and didn't have to keep that "good girl image" ) it's like she is finally accepting the fact that she does not belong to any common type or characteristics in this society, she is just who she is and she can do whatever she wants. then the light switches from blue to pink, I don't really know why this happened but I think it's whether a transition between saki's and mafuyu's pov or mafuyu's hope finally turning into realisation/reason to live. and finally the lights turning pink ( again ) kinda like an end of something but also as a renewal of an other.

this is very good! however, i think it’s a different reason. this is a mizuki focus song, and it wouldn’t make sense to also make mafuyu the focus when it doesn’t have anything to do with her.
the song is about mizuki accepting their identity just as they are because they were bullied previously. i think the blue light represents mizukis masculinity, and the pink represents their femininity, because it has been hinted mizuki is trans.
mafuyu is not a main character because IDSMILE is a mizuki focus song and it was written for a mizuki focus event and only focuses on her

I'm not sure if this a major detail, but I kind of like the fact that at some point the lights go blue and pink. It might be of Mizuki questioning their gender. (I mean that's what I like to think).
