  • A step by step how to on how to remove the dash on this 89 Mx-6 GT.
There are some differences between 88-89 and 90-92, as well as manual climate control cars as mentioned in the video.
On 90-92 Mx-6 and all 88-92 626, those cars have power seat belts so that is something to figure when removing the A pilar trim.
I am parting out this entire car so if you need anything, just let me know!

I own a Mazda 626 Sedan in Prestige Silver colour, 1990 model ... bought brand new in Melbourne, Australia as a gift from my father for my 18th birthday. He paid $32,000 Australian dollars for it back then! It's now 32 years old, has done 500,000 kilometres and l continue to drive it daily. Has never failed me. Unbelievable car. I cannot part with it. My first and so far, only car ...!!
    People cant believe it.

Keeping the oil clean these cars can last a very long time. I drove my 90 626 for 25 years, and 400,000 miles, I then gave it to a friend. I did have to do the valve stem seals once. It was smoking a little on start up. I did the rope method so I didn't have to remove the head. Even at that many miles it did not burn any oil. Hard to go wrong with the Mazdas of this era, at least the ones with a manual transmission
I wasn't looking for another one, But when I saw a 89 MX-6 in great condition and 80,000 miles, I had to have it. Been driving it now daily for 3 years, and get positive comments where ever I go.

Eric, I love the MX-6's!!! My first car was a 1991 MX-6 manual. A couple years later I got a 1990 MX-6 - GT manual and fell in love with Turbos. Years later, when I wife and I were just married, I found a cherry 1989 MX-6 GT manual and we drove that car for about seven years. Hit two deer in it and fixed it my self both times. Tore the exhaust off and put a flowmaster were the cat was with a short pipe out in front of the rear tire. I traded that car for a old 22re pickup and miss her dearly. These Yotas are easy to find but that Mazda was special to me.

I bought a ‘89 MX-6 GT brand new back then. Manual trans, turbo and every option except 4 wheel steering. Was my first new car after graduation from college and working at my first real job.
I loved the car, though I replaced all the cloth with leather, including the door panel cloth. I also had black MSW wheels before black wheels were cool. My favorite feature was the oscillating center air vent which was handy here in South Texas. My least favorite thing, ALL the crappy terrible fragile plastic! I never could get rid of all the rattles though I tried mightily.
I was able to outdrive many a guy in their 5.0 Mustangs of the day, only because of the turbo and that I had some racing experience most guys didn’t have. Otherwise the Mustang could be the faster car. The torque steer in the car was unbelievable bad! The adjustable suspension was nearly a joke, barely any discernable difference between settings. Oh, and the junky Mistsubishi built alternator destroyed my expensive stereo system when the alternator blew.
Thanks for sharing and the fact that you loved these cars too. Almost all of them are gone now.

Hi Eric, Thanks for sharing this video. I have this MAZDA 626, 1989. I regret leaving this car in the driveway baking under the sun and snow in winter for years, this was my backup car. But this time, I want to use it again.
Do you have the parts that I need for this car, HAZARD SWITCH & ECO SWITCH? They just fell off, I think due to the heat and cold exposure. And also I need the driver-SIDE MIRROR so with the PASSENGER SUN VISOR.
I can pay for the shipping for all of these parts.
Thank you and I hope you will respond to me. More Power to your Channel!

Thanks for the video. Just wondering if you think the LX can upgrade the heater controls from a GT model. I plan on going to a u pull it, in a week or so because they have a 91 model, and I want the grill from it. I prefer the 90-92 grill more that the 88-89. I realize I would also have to grab the motors to what the heater controls go to. But not sure if it will bolt up and also have the electrical connectors.
