It's Happened! ULA Just Sued SpaceX Starship Launch In Florida & Can't Reach Moon...
This is unbelievable! Following Blue Origin, ULA has now filed a lawsuit against the FAA to block SpaceX's Starship Florida plan, citing concerns not only about environmental impacts but also questioning Starship's ability to reach the Moon and Mars. It's ironic that a company grappling with rocket launch and financial challenges is casting doubt on SpaceX's capabilities.
What exactly did ULA highlight? What are their intentions behind this move? And how will SpaceX counter these criticisms and demonstrate their capabilities? Join us today on Great SpaceX as we dive deep into these questions.
It's Happened! ULA Just Sued SpaceX Starship Launch In Florida & Can't Reach Moon...
Challenges in development are a given for any organization, and SpaceX is no exception. Ironically, their toughest hurdles often arise from their competitors.
Just recently, Blue Origin sparked controversy with their commentary aimed at restricting Starship operations in Florida. Not long after, another SpaceX rival, ULA, joined the fray.
ULA's CEO, Tory Bruno, recently penned a comprehensive 22-page critique highlighting numerous issues with the FAA's Starship Florida Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and SpaceX's plans. Beyond environmental concerns and impacts on local systems in Florida, ULA also emphasized perceived limitations of Starship that could hinder SpaceX's ambitious goals of reaching the Moon and Mars.
It's Happened! ULA Just Sued SpaceX Starship Launch In Florida & Can't Reach Moon...
Specifically, Section 2 of ULA's comment article highlights two main issues. First, concerning Starship's progress, ULA states: "As a threshold matter, the EIS must acknowledge that Starship is still in its experimental stages and that SpaceX's planned operations at LC-39A have evolved and continue to evolve. Starship is the largest rocket ever built, and it is currently tested at SpaceX's private base in Boca Chica, Texas. In prior test flights, SpaceX has experienced several technical accidents."
Next, addressing Starship's capabilities, ULA added: "SpaceX has acknowledged that the vehicle is not meeting anticipated performance levels. As a result, SpaceX plans to increase the size and thrust level of the vehicle stages to address this performance shortfall. This would result in environmental and safety issues greater than those witnessed at Boca Chica."

Looks like to me ULA is jealous of SpaceX
Everybody is, even Europe is starting to whisper they need to beat SpaceX. Without SpaceX, it would be another ten years or more to get to where we are now and cost a few billion more. I think jealousy is a huge part of it, but another is what Elon has done with the former Twitter and the twits that worked there.
ULA not good lol
Looks to me like they know they cannot compete with SpaceX on anything like a level playing field and so are trying to so hobble SpaceX that ULA CAN compete. I get what ULA is doing even though I consider it to be a super charley sierra move.
If starship is completed and goes into regular service, all other launch systems in the free world are out of business. All other launch providers have to stop SpaceX now.
70 years in the business they have reach the bottom Of the earth. 😂
if your exceptional you do exceptional things, if your mediocre you sue exceptional people.
Translation: We suck at what we do, so handicap SpaceX so we dont look like the losers we are!
Why does ULA think that they have any responsibility in regulating launch vehicles?
This is getting ridiculous! One man builds a space company to better humanity. The other two go to space to make money.
*Neither ULA nor Sue Origin have made a cent in profit out of space exploration*
@@ozsteamer2755 But they are willing to spend money on lawsuits instead of finding ways to operate with profits. How long can they last loosing money?
@@EnriqueAThieleSolivan *It will continue as long as the money-printing by the US F3deral R3serve continues*
Once that dries up, the whole creaking edifice will come crashing down.
@@ozsteamer2755 well, to do that - you need to actually deliver something. Blue Origin, well....they are yet to get to orbit.
@@ozsteamer2755 Wait do you think that the US federal reserve can crash down so easily? Especially when it comes to just some law suits considering how much money they spends on useless/inefficient projects that can be managed or cut off if the government really wants to.
This is why China will own the moon while we’re stuck here on earth suing each other.
Notice how soscex isn't sueing anyone. They should. For harrassment 🤔
Good point 👍
If you can't beat them, sue them.
It seems for launch companies if you can't beat them, sue them.
Like Sue Origin
@@colonbina1I see what you did there
Those who can, do. Those who can't, sue.
How can one company that has not gone to space try to sue another company that has already established
If you suck and can't beat them, then sue them.
😂😂😂
It’s pretty pathetic when companies resort to doing this. We really should not tolerate it.
ULA and BLUE ORIGIN need to stop whining about SPACE X and get their business in order, they sound like a bunch of 3yr olds that can't have their way......... how sad
Sounds like every space launch companies are jealous of SpaceX 😊😮
They know they can’t compete with SpaceX that’s why they’re doing that
they are jealous for humanity succes
Since SueLA and Sue Origin can't get their shit together so they have to sue to try to stop the competition. Neither company is anywhere close to competing with SpaceX so they should probably focus on getting their own houses sorted out instead of trying to stop the competition.
"SueLA and Sue Origin"
I like that. Kudos!
🤣🤣🤣
ULA, you had better ask NASA about that. Launch your rockets and stop playing in court and get those rockets off the ground, instead of suing them to get ahead.
Right 👍
Maybe they can sue china to slow them down
Wow, industrial lawfare on the scale of current federal lawfare actions. Financially strapped businesses using the courts to go after their rival. ULA and BO are losing their credibility.
Have already lost it!
Stop development in Florida and focus solely on the Texas base. Eventually Blue Origin and ULA will go bankrupt as they can't compete with Starship.
Exactly
Those that can, launch. Those that can’t, sue.
I'm beginning to think that the only people ULA and Blue Origin employ, are part time rocket engineers, and full time lawyers, that way you can get government grants, and provide nothing but space junk with long delays and spend the bulk of the money on lawsuits to slow down your competitors. I hope who ever reviews the lawsuits, takes in to account the ACTUAL development and progress these other "space agency's" have built ( starliner and vulcan) and launched(?) into space when deciding to legally cripple real space pioneers like SpaceX. Also just wondering when Starliner is planning on returning the 2 astronauts back to earth in Starliner to earth from their scheduled 7 to 10 day stay?.Just saying.....
can't say i blame them for trying, since their entire company and life's work is about to be obsolete.
but it's just painfully obvious that they pretend to be worried about deadlines and the environment when really they're worried about their profits
That's why they will never beat SpaceX
It looks like the ULA, Blue Origin, and Boeing work for China because they're the only ones this helps.
Well, of course, Blue Origin is working for China. Where do you think Amazon gets 90% of their products from? ULA's electronic chips are imported from China while the engines are built by Blue Origin.
Those who can’t do…sue, The way of things now.
ULA and Blue Origin (stupid name) are not space launch and operations companies, but suing companies... they cannot compete on technology, competence, innovation, or imagination, so they sue.... they want corporate affirmative action to relieve the grave disparities in competencies. Space is dangerous enough without letting the legal system impose the need to let the accomodate the much less competent and able.
Yes. Launching rocket issues hard but this even is harder
How many lawyers does it take to sue your way into LEO?
@@stevechance150 about 22,300 standing on each other shoulders to get to 400 miles.
If SpaceX does not launch... the US does not launch... 😂😂😂.
I think it's Hilarious that ULA is suing SpaceX. Starliner is stranded at the ISS yet ULA is suing Based on Starship being Experimental. Boeing's Garbage capsule has people stranded in space and Starliner in all likelihood is going to have to be jettisoned into space so SpaceX Dragon capsule can dock and retrieve those people.
Those who can't do, sue!
Sue Origin and Suela
Two types. Those that do and those that sue.
Jeff Bezos just announced he's changing the name of BLUE ORIGIN to GREEN ENVY !! 😂😅
Rocket is complicated and dificulte
Low safety and high cost
We need somethings better

Easy lift off
Easy land on with antigravity Spaceship
No Fire
No Explosion

Just Spin and
Lift off
Powered by Baterry
Work base on Gravity just spinning by using Battery
can fly in bad weather, plunge in the ocean even in outer space
Can lift more than 100 Ton
Earth which weight predict 600 trillion ton does not fall at the Sun because of centrifugal in orbitting, on the contrary it does not be thrown far go out the orbit line of hold by gravity at the Sun as orbit center. Gravity and centrifugal is equal called Equillibrium, thats why until now Earth which we was inhabited always rotate and circulate the Sun. Now we justly take example : how if the gravity used and centrifugal is negated? The Earth will float far leave the Sun. So that centrifugal can be used to fly far away if gravity eliminated. Finally how to eliminate gravity?
It’s way rotate part of aircraft by horizontal. When that rotation faster centrifugal force getting greater and the gravity getting smaller, finally it lose the gravity and the aircraft start flying. Of course people would surprise: how the aircraft can keep rotate without fulcrums? Thats why we named that aircraft Shuttling System that is aircraft likes two disc adjoining attached in the midle as fulcrums:
A. The Top part, we name Positive rotate to right, and the edges is getting thicker and havier.
B. The Buttom part, we name Negative rotating to left, and the edges is getting thicker and havier.
C. Middle Part , we name Neutral, air crew placed and also machine and everythings turning Negative and Positive at the same time.
The aircraft can liftup added with explosion from the engine. However that aircraft construction later, let the engineer doit it, and we are sure the aircraft will bulletproof and also waterproof.

In modern civilization where human being generally using flying saucer as vehicle, will a lot of change in lives either in materialism and in psychological. In materialism area will apply the change in life like.
People no longger need roadway and rel road which spend large of energy, money, places, things and time, object place and time. People would utilize that area for habitat or for other need:
Consider the people who want ULA on their resume.
It would seem that "Lawfare" isn't just for politicians...
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." -Mahatma Gandhi.
🤣🤣🤣
BOYCOTT AMAZON!
ULA and Blue Origin. should hire more good engineers instead of diverting the money to lawyers. Then they might actually have something productive to offer.
Wow, ULA is butthurt.
They are trying to avoid bankruptcy
didnt ula build starliner with boeing? how do they find the audacity to talk still? no shame
@@shu6037 No Starliner is just Boeing. ULA had no part in its design they just launched it.
I wish these other companies, instead of trying to hold Space X back with all this foolishness would instead try to get their own finger out and make progress of their own. Its this pety mentality thats screwing everything up, a real kindergarden mentality, take account of their own failure and take action to correct it instead of pointing fingers at the competition. this ' I can't succeed so let me hold the other guy back ' mentality won't cut it nowadays .
No one is remotely close to Space X in terms of launch capability. If these rivals can’t compete, they should get out of the market or concentrate on assisting third world countries.
I'm with you blue origin and Ula need to stay out and and let's SpaceX do their own business
Blue Origin and ULA should concentrate on fixing their own failures. That said, just as it is more successful making stuff happen, SpaceX will be far more successful making life difficult for Blue Origin and ULA by complaining about their capabilities than they are at being critical of SpaceX.
United Litigation Alliance
Someone, somewhere, is very jealous.
Er, so how is ULA's offering progressing? ULA's stuff is mainly theoretical and almost completely unproven.
When you can’t beat ‘em, sue ‘em.
These people just don’t understand smh. We could really be multi planetary one day and they’re here trying to slow the process over politics and jealousy
☹️☹️☹️
ULA should sue Blue origin for not getting out rocket engines on time and getting them fined by space force. The Spacex lawsuit is useless.
🤣🤣🤣
"ULA: If you can't beat 'em, sue 'em."
The loser
Awh shit, Here we go again
Here we go!!!!
I needed a good laugh, and that’s what these two companies seem to be. They, like little children, want to break someone else’s toys.
I gotta say SpaceX has meant every launch can any of the other space companies do that look at Boeing 7 years worth delays look at blue Origin and not including ULA. Not one of these companies has made the flights that where scheduled.
ULA and Blue Origin just want to keep launches dear so they can make obscene profits and high launch costs. SpaceX will make launch costs low and advance space travel.
"so they can make obscene profits "
*ULA, Boeing, Sue Origin have not made a cent in profit out of space exploration*
@@ozsteamer2755 Probably due to high cost of a single launch without at least partial recovery.
That's the only way SueLA and Sue Origin have any chance to compete. They cannot do it on a level playing field AND THEY KNOW IT! Their only hope is lawfare. Today there is SpaceX and EVERYBODY ELSE - including China. Last year SpaceX put more tonnage into orbit than the rest of the world combined. Think about it.
Yeah
Another form of lawfare. If you can’t compete with someone then sue them to slow them down.
Vote to rename these Lawfare companies to _Blue Destinations_ & _Useless Lunchmoney Allowance_ ....
😂😂😂😂
Nah. SueLA and Sue Origin works best for me.
Yes! They should concentrate on their own problems, it's all just jealousy!
Yeah 👍
I seems like every time we have something to be proud or hopeful for; it gets dowsed with cold water by someone or something.
The lawsuit is based on a bad faith argument. It should be comparing starship launches to shuttle launches and SLS launches.
Our company did work on the Centaur, and its predecessors, and it has been a problematical stage from the get-go. I'm not sure why that is, since by now it should have been developed to be bullet-proof. Leaks almost always are caused by crappy and inferior workmanship. Valve failures are typically a design issue, or poor materials selection. Are the new-kid engineers forgetting the 70+years of prior knowledge, or never learned it in school?
One should now be asking what ULA and Blue Origin have to offer? Well I'm waiting, (Cricket sounds).
Not ironic at all: ULA (Joint Venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing) is desperate: way over budget and years late. I'd like to hear the court's ruling on ULA's Moon claim. This is ULA's version of "sour grapes".
*I wouldn't trust boeing to put people in the air , let alone in space*
The whole idea is to slow down, and if possible block, Spx development...that is it, no other reason...they do not like the competition because they know damn well they would lose.
ULA, Blue Origin, and others. Of course issues must be addressed and evaluated.
Some might be meaningless, others may be highly relevant.
This said, I don't know if the court is the right place to solve these issues.
ULA and Blue Origin are just upset at SpaceX's success. Sour grapes.
👍👍👍
Can't get your stuff to work so take legal action against successful competitors. Can you imagine being sued for doing what no one else even thought of because you are still working out the problems?
It would not matter were Space X setup these losers would still find a reason to sue and slow down Space X.
Winners do losers Sue
Exactly
Those who can't do, sue.
ULA is scared.
Shouldn't be able to be sued by a competing space / rocket company. Should have to go through govt. NASA or something of the likes and then the gov sues if its not found to be mute. Right now its just "We sue them now, and slow their progress by a year, the cost to sue, with a very small chance to actually win, is less money then falling another year behind and loosing potential contracts and such down the line. Plus, they have to spend money just to counter to keep their name clean." Such a BS strategy. Same strategy some big competing companies do to small ma-pa shops to shut them down.
Those who can't do....sue.
Exactly
Space X doesn’t need Florida to go to the moon…..
So they rent/lease space at a rocket launch site and built facilities there but the facilities and people are not able to withstand or otherwise deal with rocket launches unless, of course, it is their rocket launch.
The courts used to throw this nuisance crap out the door, why do they even give this crap the time of day?
Is the judiciary making money adjudicating these nuisance fights????????
Pure Speculation from ULA … everything they are saying is to try and make SpaceX and Starship look bad. The tragedy is their own failure to be competitive or even Capable … they obviously don’t like the SpaceX process because they probably can’t afford to be as iterative. For ULA to talk about timelines they need to get their own Act up to speed . Blue Origin? Yeah them too!
I've been watching GREATSPACEX for years now. And I have to say to you, Kevin. You do such an awesome job as the narrator. Straight to the facts is why I keep watching your channel & the frequency of updates. Thank you & your team, keep it up!
Agreed
Thanks for your great comment. Keep following and discussing on our channel ☺️
Agreed Erica!
Lawfare has to stop
Obviously they can't compete. They could have used these resources had they a chance but instead they choose to drain away resources from their competitors. With Ariane now flying again the field is crowded and ULA, despite favorable government contracts, is falling behind. Sadly because we need all of these companies. Maybe a bookseller isn't the best choice to lead an aerospace endeavor.
Sounds like ULA is getting JEALOUS of SpaceX just like Blue origin. Not going to stop SpaceX though.
ULA and Blue Origin are embarrassingly Pathetic!
Jealousy. Simple jealousy.
Go SpaceX! ❤
If you can't compete...sue. Looks like the dems are even more pissed at Elon.
Naw this has nothing to do with politics. Has everything to do with Jealous billionaires are jealous of the one billionaire who beat them to a profit margin and is actively investing in R&D. They are just trying to use the government to cover up their own ineptitude.
ULA, (Boeing Co. & Lockheed Martin) This is exactly what losers do.
🤣🤣🤣
Those who Can, Do. Those who Can't, Sue
😂😂
🤣😂🤣😂😅 Blue Origin can't even get a orbital rocket built and they started before SpaceX. It's not SpaceX fault that they can't even do, how do Blue Origin even able to bid on contracts to put things into orbit.😂🤣😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Lawfare infects the space program. SpaceX should have kept going with ocean launch platforms and seasteads for workers.
ULA and Blue Origin will never catch up why bother sueing??
SpaceX needs to do a conversation suite and also sue the for Harassment and inconvenience.
Sadly, NASA has gone from a premier space engineering establishment to a bureaucratic engineering management establishment.
This bureaucracy is in the business of building expensive infrastructure that must be sustained with evermore public funding. Most of the, purported, rocket launch companies fit well into this bureaucratic scheme. All budget featherbedding, and ever diminishing technological results.
If you can't compete with product and services, compete with lawyers. It's the American way.
(ULA and Blue Origin) "Daddy daddy, he's too big and he (SpaceX) is not giving us a chance!"
Daddy (US Government) ;
"You! (SpaceX)play nice!"
(SpaceX), "Sorry Dad.....but they're so easy to beat!"
spacex isnt even trying to beat them lol
I believe Bezos and ULA have teamed up to stop spaceX. If Starship is successful that would make ULA and Bluee Origin basically obsolete.
Yup, that 10x difference is game over
They are already obsolete. They have no reusable rockets so right there their environmental impact is greater than Space X.
ULA and BO needs to try flying more rather than suing.
No matter what they will do musk will not give up
Definitely
ULA Sour grapes
Maybe NASA or SpaceX should sue them for attempting to monopolize the market by hindering SpaceX progress.
😂😂😂
Yes, ULA, the great environmental steward…….
Not that it is going to happen but...... if Blue Origin or ULA beat SpaceX to the moon, the first person to next walk on the moon should be a lawyer.
In other words, "There is no way in hell we can compete with that huge F*cking Rocket...waaaaaaaah"
Well, that's something.
Both Blue and ULA, criticizing others may give them the sense of accomplishment they're not getting from rocket building.
CEOs can't lead their teams to space so they're leading them to the courtroom.
☹️☹️☹️
