  • This is a 3D video. Times Square, New York City in Manhattan is the most visited place in the world, enjoy this fully immersive walking adventure around Times Square NYC during the Christmas Holidays for the first time ever in 3D 8k 60fps VR180! So much to see here in the city that never sleeps, including Snow Globes and Christmas Villages and lights galore, this one is sure to become a favorite.
NOTE: Download RUclips VR App on Meta Quest 2 to experience this video in actual 3D VR180. Watching on phone/PC will only display 2D VR180.
All episodes are recorded in full RAW (19 GB / Min of Video) and color graded for uncompromising quality. A Times Square New York exploration walkabout is coming next week, as well as a special "New Orleans New Year's Eve 2022 Nightlife" episode in a couple weeks so be sure to sub!
Every week, I will release a new video of my travels around the world digitally mastered for highest quality Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, PlayStation 5 PSVR 2, HTC Vive, Pimax 8k, windows mixed reality, and other high end headsets including upcoming apple virtual reality / augmented reality.
All filmed with the best high quality 8k 60 fps 3D VR180 camera available. Only 3D if viewed on a VR headset with RUclips VR.
30+ hours of work goes into each 10-15 minute episode (color grading, editing, sound engineering) not including travel time and lugging around a 35 pound camera setup.
    Thank you for watching!

Thank you! That’s very kind, I put a lot of effort into making my content among the best experiences possible. It really is neat how a good 3D VR180 video can teleport you like that isn’t it? That’s part of the magic that made me fall in love with VR myself.

Your comments say "...best high quality 8K 60 fps 3D VR180 camera..." What camera are you using?

Hi, I love the pacing and the way you comment in the video, just enough and not too much to break immersion. Great work, you have a sub! You also inspired me to buy a 180VR camera for trip memories!
I use an Oculus Go, do you have 2048p or 2400p clip (max the Go can play) or just 8k? If yes I'll pay to be a patron!
PS: If you find a way to do 220VR (or 270VR) then it'll be much more immersive and unique, ppl will really pay for that! (I do, 180 3D is nice but still can't fill your normal FOV when rotating neck

Thank you, I try hard to keep a good pacing/commentary, happy you enjoyed! It takes alot of rendering hours and storage space to output these videos, so unfortunately I do not make other resolutions available on patreon. The good news is that RUclips streams in 2160P, so you are already getting nearly the same quality as a direct download 4k video, albeit at a lowered bit rate. If you could somehow get your hands on a Quest 2, you would be absolutely blown away at how it looks in 8k direct download on the Quest 2. 8k is literally four (4) times the resolution of 2160P .
Also, I do not plan on making anything higher than VR180 because the bigger the FOV( such as 220 degrees) the more spread out the pixels are, thereby lowering the visual quality of the video. I pride myself in making the highest visual quality 3D videos on the market, and believe the VR180 format is the perfect mix of immersion while keeping maximum visual quality.

Nice... I'm downloading the video to enjoy it uninterrupted in my VR headset. It is already over 12 years ago the last time I was in New York and chances are that I never will be going there again. I live on the other side of the world (literally, time difference is 12 hours).
Unfortunately I can only download it in 4K.

Hope you enjoyed the 4k walk around times square! Yeah I can say the same about Australia, would love to visit even once, but distance is so expensive Isnt it. Wild how you can be on the other side of the world, but get to teleport anywhere in seconds huh.
I actually just launched a patreon to allow direct download in native 8k (4k is 25% resolution of 8k) so please consider supporting the channel by signing up and you'll get the drool worthy native 8k downloads!

quest 3 here, sadly in youtube vr it caps at 4k and if i extract the 8k as a file on the headset it only streams at like 2 fps, not sure why the quest 3 cant handle this, it seems like it should right?

    • @SliceoflifeVR
      @SliceoflifeVR  7 месяцев назад +1

It most definitely can play in native 8k 3D 60fps VR180. Even Quest 2 can play it (Although Quest 3 looks better , Quest 2 still gets a massive jump in quality with the direct download native 8k vs the 4k limit of RUclips streaming)
You just can’t play it in 8k when it is ripped from RUclips. I host all the 400% higher resolution episodes for direct download on my Patreon. It plays in buttery smooth 8k and it is absolutely gorgeous.

@@SliceoflifeVR okay awesome, I knew there had to be a way! Is skybox VR a good app for playback of such dlna, samba and local files in your experience? Alright I'll head out to patreon to check them out 👍

Which codec are you using? Some player apps in Quest 3 haven't updated to support AV1 hardware playback and it software decodes super slowly.@@supersasquatch

This was filmed in stereoscopic 3D VR180. This is indeed a 3D video, you may have the settings wrong if you only see it in 2D. You need to view this video inside a VR headset.

@@SliceoflifeVR It looks better now, thank you, but I still wonder what the distance is between the lenses of your camera, if it is like regular ipd.
