- S1E1 - In the first episode of the podcast Someone Lived Here, Kendra Gaylord brings you to the Alice Austen House on Staten Island. Alice Austen was a photographer who took beautiful, personal photos of her friends. These photos include crossdressing and card games. She was also in a loving relationship with another woman, Gertrude Tate, for 50 years. Alice Austen lived from 1866 to 1952.
While walking through the home you learn Alice’s story and the events that led to poverty and how her work was found before her death.
If you want to listen to other episodes you can find them on any podcast app under "Someone Lived Here".

Oh the Practical Magic house is my favourite. I love the story and everything in this movie. They made it so homely. The fact they have a garden, grow vegetables and glass houses… so many details.
The story has everything: a beautiful house, beautiful photography, and a beautiful love story.
Thanks Kendra, this is such a beautiful story. I hope Alice and Gertrude will reunite in the underground world someday.
15:21 I love Victorian Maximalist decorating. Just fans and frames stacked on top of eachother.
i love it too! makes my room feel very bare and missing fabrics in comparison
I really hope you keep making these podcasts/videos. This is exactly what I needed, thank you.
Very fascinating! I had never heard of Alice Austen before this!
she was such an amazing person! i'm going to slowly post the rest of my podcast episodes, since youtube now has a podcast tab!
Just stumbled on your work. I'm an instant fan.
As a photographer, thank you so much for introducing me to Alice (her work, her story, and her beautiful home).
You put these videos together so beautifully, and this might be one of my favorites yet 😊
This is phenomenal -- thank you for sharing this story
I love Alice’s photos so much! They exude so much life.
This was beautiful, might make me cry. Thank you
This was so beautiful. I love ghosts. Thank you.
Good information of an unknown person in history. I love the way you displayed the story and had people speak about the house. I would like to know how it became a museum. Also, where are her photographs of NUC immigrants?
My heart! ❤
This is such a beautiful story ❤
Love all of your videos!!! ❤
That was wonderful, Many Thanks for this!
Excuse me, what happened to once a week?? I binged thru almost all of your content already. Please produce more 😭😭😭❤❤❤ I have NEVER been interested in architecture, but you make it so interesting.

The audio is really, unpleasantly loud.
Just came across your channel. First, are you single? If not where do girls like you hang out? I really crave quick witty banter from a beautiful woman who is well informed and LOL funny. Going to watch more of your stuff. Let me know if you want to be friends 😊.
yikes
Sorry, that was probably too much. I’m actually rather normal. I do think you are very interesting and I meant what I said. Sometimes my filter isn’t in gear.
I’ve been thinking about watching Gilmore Girls from the beginning. I’ve only seen a few out of order episodes.
Do you think I should?
