As someone who also posts videos about fixing and upgrading computers, I would like to say kudos for such an easy upgrade. Thanks for being a part of the community.
The one issue I've frequently had updating these old Windows 7 laptops to Windows 10 is that there are no SD card drivers, and the ones I can find to install manually often don't work. So that's a potential trade-off that people should be aware of, but it's probably worth it for most.
I haven't run into that particular problem beyond occasionally needing to download drivers for realtek card readers. For that what I usually do is go to the computer manufacturers support site and download the driver's for the card readers. Very often only Windows 7 drivers are provided for the older computers but you can install a Windows 7 drivers in Windows 8, 10 or 11. It works.
Hullo Michael...Thank You, for making these workflow videos...! Very informative...Easy to follow along and compare. Your side notes, about chrome / Edge And Home / Pro, is interesting little gold nuggets...! I noted your answer to Cary H, about antivirus... This could be an idea, for another video...? Will check older videos, to see, if it is mentioned. Greetings and wishes, for a constructive 2022.
With this tutorial I learned that there's another way to transfer windows from an old hdd to a new ssd with ease. I did intel rapid storage but it won't work and my ssd works fine to my pc. My frustration will come to and end thanks!
I'm looking to upgrade a RAM on my E6430. But in a bit of a puzzle - CPU-z says that the current RAM runs at 1.5volts, while all the descriptions for upgrade say that it shall be 1.35 volts. Which is the correct voltage? Could it be that both specs will suffice?
Thanks for the video. I have been able to successfully do this procedure on a laptop. BUT... the Windows 10 update, using the Media Creator Tool (MCT) would not work on my Dell Latitude E6530. I tried everything. Every time I tried to run the MCT, I would get a message saying this program cannot run on on this computer. I wonder if it had something to do with the Win 7 not having service packs installed. So just a heads up for those who will give this a try.
Dude, I have installed new blank 128 consistent ssd in place of hdd and place hdd over CD caddy case(originally my windows is in hard drive), now when I boot up to windows, it not showing up ssd even in bios setting, when I turn on uefi mode.... , my windows is installed to hdd in legacy boot and sata operation is ahci
I am running Avast as well but free version and ever since I installed it my laptop has slowed down starting up and I have received messages about old files slowing down my laptop, and tracking software and numerous other issues. when I adjusted startup protocols to avast starting last initally faster???
Avast free will tell you it can clean up and speed up your computer if you buy all their software. Its a lie. Don't pay for Avast. With all they install it will junk up and slow down your computer. If you want to pay for antivirus get avg business.
Any solution for sound issue in this model a have te upgrade for windows 10, but a have no sound, i have installed the latest driver but not work, any help?
Here they are talking about using a idt driver for Windows 8.1. Older drivers often work fine on newer versions of Windows. www.dell.com/community/Laptops-General-Read-Only/Dell-latitude-E6430-no-sound-from-both-Headphone-or-speakers/td-p/4625644

Enjoyed video. That was a good laptop for me. Have two like it and a newer version.
got one today at an estate sale for 12 bucks works great
Is 1TB SDD compatible with the DELL Latitude E6430? Because I need to upgrade it.
Yes a 1TB or 2TB SSD will work. Get a 2.5" SSD
Good job 👍
There are ways to do windows 11 now... Just make sure your processor speed is over 2.4ghz or you will have slow issues even with the ssd

Some laptops can use either 1.5v or 1.35v. Go with 1.35v though.

What’s the differences of Windows 10 home vs Home single language?
The regular home version allows you to switch languages whereas the home single language you can only use one language.
