El anzoatiguense y referente de la selección nacional de 1.96m de estatura fue ficha en 2017-18 del Oklahoma City Blue, filial del homólogo Thunder de la ciudad. Dejó respetable promedios de 7.0 puntos por partido con un destacado 42% en cestas triples, 4.1 rebotes, e impresionantes dotes defensivos con 1.4 robos y 0.6 tapones por encuentro en su registro, en casi 20' de minutos de juego. Con una condecorada carrera a nivel de high school en el ya clausurado pero histórico Montrose Christian, título universitario y Quinteto Ideal SEC con South Carolina Gamecocks y pasos por ligas europeas, la NBL australiana y distintas ligas latinoamericanas, Michael Carrera es de los jugadores criollos de mayor recorrido en los últimos veinte años.

The 6'5 with a 7'0 wingspan Anzoatiguense and key member of the Venezuelan national team played for Oklahoma City Blue in the 2017-18 season, a subsidiary of the city's counterpart Thunder. He averaged respectable 7.0 points per game with an outstanding 42% from 3-point range, 4.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks per game in almost 20 minutes of play. After a decorated high school career in the now defunct but historic Montrose Christian, a college degree and SEC All-Conference distinction with South Carolina Gamecocks and pro stints throughout European leagues, the Australian NBL and various Latin American leagues, Michael Carrera is one of the longest tenured & successful criollo players in the last twenty years.
