- After my last 4000km road trip across China, and considering how many more interesting places there are to explore in China, I've decided to start hunting for a larger recreational vehicle for the family for an even bigger adventure the next time around.
That’s actually pretty cool, I hope to see more RV in China, competition is healthy.
With all the nice scenery in your previous video. It would be pretty awesome to travel China in RV with your wife or girlfriend.
They have 4 kids, so I’m pretty sure that the woman in his previous video is the wife.
Chαse Yú
I meant...if we were to hit the road in China. It would be pretty cool.
but when I think back about it...my parents would’ve been really mad if do so. They hate hippies....
Konata Izumi
Hippie in China? That is something pretty rare in China! And as for hitting the road in China ? I wish I can, but sorry mate, I can’t and I’m not even living in China ( although I’d love to travel around the country).
Chαse Yú
No...I am not a chinese. There are definitely hippies in my country...
What I meant is...my parents hated hippies, they see them as in jobless drug addicts. And in my country, they always travel in old van or RV, living in unsanitary condition.
If I were to get a RV and travel in China, Or anywhere in the world for that matter. I think my parents is going to disown me...lol...
Yes...it’s THAT serious.
Konata Izumi and your country is.... Japan 🇯🇵? Judging by your name. Well, I don’t think that I have truly meet a hippie before, but seeing it from the Americans TV and movies, yeah they often show as such that you’ve said.
And as for the Chinese as well as this video shows. You can’t have a RV and traveling around, if you are jobless or poor or anything like that. It is pretty costly to have a RV as well as traveling around in China as well.
I live in a rural village in Sichuan called Pingchang, a very poor country, but I still think that people here are happy after all。Welcome to my hometown as a guest, maybe there is no beautiful scenery, but there are warm friends here

Nice to hear worm people.
I never heard of RV' in China, it is quite interesting, I will spread the word. Beautiful video.Thanks.
of course you dont, because chinese dont call it RV. there are several manufacturer in china doing this, with their own brand.
@@vislytoong Do you have their contacts. As i am moving to China soon and I want to get one to live in full-time instead of renting an apartment
wow! how nice to hv one on a long journney holiday!
Never been in a RV before, but this feel and look so much different from the American one( judging from the TV and movie that shows the inside of RV). This is actually looking pretty Nice and neat.
Greetings from Dali, China!!!!! I’ve never even seen one of these here!!!!! This would be so much fun!!!!! You’re living the dream!!!!
Dali!! I have such a beautiful memory of Dali!! :D
Impressive, thanks for sharing.
Very nice. They are great looking RVs . I think that the Ford Transit is a very good choice. Here in Canada people tend to start with large units and downsize over time.
Thank you so much for this content. I just moved to China three months ago and am based in Hainan. One of the things that I want to do in China is road-tripping, so I have been exploring the RV options in this country. I will continue following you.
Pretty good for a starter!
I love RVs ... Moving forward with new content uh? Keep it up Daniel 👍
your dudes can make something like this? Daniel check this out:

Dude... i have been saying for years that this is going to be a HUGE business in the future in China. The industry is just in its infancy and if i had money... invest. it's exciting!
Nice vid, it's incredible how much space is actually inside!
I use to weld and grind on painted boats, every painted surface close to a grinding or weld spark would have to be covered with a fire proof blanket. That guy grinding is leaving sparks that will rust 6 months later on the Finished surface .
He said it was bare metal, so I'm assuming it was unfinished
Good for touring China on self drive. Should have a company renting these out to travellers. 👏👏
😄 at the 9:41 that’s the Chinese kind of manners, the man will offer a cigarette 🚬 as a kind gesture.
Offering poison as "kind gesture"? No, thanks.
Very interesting to see, great stuff.
Live long and prosper, Daniel.
Haha you saw my Spock sticker!
Not putting holes in the roof for AC and then having to deal with AC condensation run-off is brilliant. I don't know why the US RV industry insists on the roof top ACs.
I was busy watching one of your latest videos then I found this one. I also want to buy an RV but it is super difficult to get a number plate in Beijing for cars and rvs. Just motorcycles for now. Maybe one day. New Subscriber, thanks for the good content.
I am very interesting on your RV trip video
Living the life man, sound like you really like it.
Can imagine people who enjoy life like that are some of the best personalities to hang with.
Never actually seen one on the road in China, but then again, guess they don't come into the cities often.
Yea cuz there is absoutely no place for you to park an RV inside the city.
Wow nice toy!!!
Good Stuff Daniel, but make sure the engine can start under sub-zero conditions.
thanks for making this vid. i'm looking for something like this as well but for mostly solo use
Wow, thats pretty interesting, RV..more rv videos please, n road trips in the rv
there is a Chinese rv family team travel around world channel here, named 房车小队
nice info brother!!
RVing in China? Don't do it! I owned and operated a class C Winnebago back in the US and enjoyed it on many trips around the US and Canada, sold it when I moved to China. I bought a new class C Great Wall RV in 2012 and used it for road trips in China. Sold it in 2015 for half of what I paid for after many issues and problems with the RV itself, and the road conditions in China. They look great at first glance, work great during the first year, and lots of stuff start to break down after the warranty runs out. The road condition in China is too complex for RV travel - I ran into e-bike riders who ran red lights and still my insurance had to pay for everything. Especially in many big cities, RVs are considered trucks and NOT allowed to enter the city during daytime. I got fined a few times not knowing that in advance. I got stopped many times by local cops just to see my registration card because RV is rare. Parking is also a nightmare in the cities, unless you have your own parking garage of course. RVing in China is a rich man's game, so if your net worth is less than $10 mil, I suggest you to avoid it!
Bob Huang 你可真是煞费苦心不留余力啊,还是好好待在米国吧!
@Dave WADon't get me wrong! It was a blast while it lasted, felt great for one and half years, it's the time after that everything started to go wrong. So be prepared to sell the RV and cut the losses before it's too late. I am still living in China but most of my travels are now by high-speed rail and it works wonders.
This is really cool...
Super coooooool
cool video
Some of those Isuzu Cab over Deisels have engines that don’t last at around 178 000 miles the engines need to be replaced at least the ones that were sold in the United States
i need this in Indonesia.. for vacation and explore thousand of islands in indonesia.
Hi Daniel - Great video. Your personable style is very enjoyable to watch. If I were you, I would rent an RV for my first trip to see if you and your family can adjust to traveling in such a small space. It might be fun for 1 night. But, for a week it could be less desirable. Cooking, showering, sleeping and living in such tight quarters will be a challenge for the four of you. When I was younger, I camped a lot in the Pacific Northwest and in BC and Banff, and Jasper, Alberta. I had a very large tent with comfortable sleeping cots and sleeping bags etc. I could set up and break down in about a half hour. I even had a tent heater for those cold early October nights up near Whistler, BC. To make the travel experience from the USA more enjoyable, I would both stay in hotels, some nights; and camp on other nights. At the hotel I would catch up on my showering, special restaurant meals, and other such niceties, and then enjoy the camping portion the next day being clean and refreshed from my hotel stay. I am a city guy, and this worked well for me. If it were raining heavily, I just spent more time in a hotel. Try camping for a week in this small RV, and after a few days I bet both you and your wife will know if this is a non-stop pain and series of chores, or total fun. I don't think it is accidental that Americans and Canadians with bigger financial budgets go for the very large RVs. For 2 people this small RV might work. For a family it appears to be challenging for the wife and mother.
Thanks for the feedback! We do actually plan on still staying in hotels for the most part, and perhaps have some of us stay in the car if the only hotel options are expensive and we want to just get one room. But for the most part, along our trips, we have access to a lot of cheap hotels. For the most part, I'm looking at this as something better than a small MPV for long road trips.
Thanks Daniel.
That's a nice motorhome! To get more options, I suggest to search for Hymer motorhomes. They are major European brand that mass produce excellent and reasonably priced motorhomes and offer lots of innovations that small builders don't have. Few years ago they supposedly made a joined venture with a Chinese company to make motorhomes and caravans in China. Haven't found anything on Google apart from that announcement, maybe you'll find something on Chinese web. Their motorhomes are really good quality and because they are mass produced, they aren't very expensive.
Vjacheslav Trushkin Hymer reasonably priced? Are you kidding or you are fully loaded? It is good the Chinese are starting to bring Motorhomes prices down. Examples: webastos being destroyed by Chinese heaters.
@@leoinswlondon They are reasonably priced in Europe for their class. Maybe in China they are more expensive. Also take into account that Hymer is not just one brand, its a company that has multiple brands: Dethleffs, Carado, Sunlight and many others. Some of those brands offer basic motorhomes, some offer premium motorhomes. Prices vary heavily depending on what class of motorhome you are looking for, as well as comfort level, technology: from about 50k euro to way over 100k euro.
Great idea. Hopefully I can rent one in China soon. Perhaps that a business idea?
These would be amazing. I would need to know the frame they are sitting this on. The materials used on the outside and that's really the most important parts. If the materials on the outside are not correctly made, installed and sealed, then the issues that arise could literally make this whole vehicle worthless.
That's awesome, Daniel. You're definitely making good progress here!. In about 3 or 4 year time, when my daughter grows a bit older and needs less attention from us, I would definitely buy a type B RV like the one you are buying now and travel around the country. I'm currently living in HK by the way.
That shower/ttoilet sliding screen in the Van was great, any chance of finding more info on it (Brand - Supplier?), regards from New Zealand.
Daniel could you please make a video showing how foreigners get driving permission in China? Thx
i made most of the latex mattress for this rv factory and another fty in foshan called yuanxi
Daniel, Are u going out to rural areas with this RV during this CNY?
I probably won't get it in time for that and it's a nightmare to be on the roads during the CNY travel rush.
@@DanielDumbrill lmao true, the highway it's gonna be nightmare
@@Marc-. true, but the volume is more than imaginable...The total travels during CNY are more than four billions persons/times.
Daniel Dumbrill
In the northern China and eastern China provinces, the RV markets and related infrastructure are much more mature. Also the RV campsite density is much higher than Guangdong province.
That's what makes China great. It's free from the Zionist axis of evil.
Wow, it's strange seeing rv's in China, I guess I've just never seen them there.
Zeus Almighty ruclips.net/video/DJdY1sQBxWk/видео.html you like?
They are called camper vans in the UK we had them since the late 1950s early 1960s. .
Originally they where a caravan mounted on to the back of a van .
They should make thenback bed a muphy bed sectionial. Its nice tho
Oh, the irony and the tragedy. Get all set for CNY and a nice long road trip, and then the whole world shuts down forever from COVID-19. Thanks for reminding me of what the world used to be like.
reasonable price what you wan what you can customize your camper van vehicle very good video

Hi Daniel nice video. The quality of work look great. Is it possible to give the name of the man/factory that makes the RV?
come to shanghai where will be holding the rv show in this weekend and there are some rvs there in middle size as what you want, which is also what the size I want.
@Daniel Dumbrill It looks like they've installed only the finest quality Chineseum Landfillium electronics into their conversions. Keep your warranty documents somewhere close to hand. 😂😂
the conversion rv in china pay a lot on off grid system. epower and water are very strong to support of non hookup camping
'liked'. Thank you for the video. The RV factory owner seems like a very nice guy to make changes to the RV you are going to buy even though it was not made at his factory. Your friend in the yellow jacket seems to be from Malaysia or S'pore, or spent some time there from his accent. Are there RV parks or RV rest areas in China to hook up the water, electric and toilet? If not, they may be coming up, seeing as to how many people seem to be buying the RVs, from what I hear you say. It's nice you can drive an RV on your regular license if the RV is under 6m. Just curious to know from your viewers if there is a similar provision regarding driving license in the US or other parts of the world. Thank you.
Sound more like Malaysian from when he speaks Chinese and his English accent. Could be Singaporean but imo most probably Malaysian.
@@lizyliz970, ok, thank you la. 😛. I can't distinguish that much between the two countries. I can only guess from the English. I just can't tell from the Chinese accent or style.
Thanks for sharing, a great adventure vehicle, how much is it?
buying is easy, but where do you park at home?
Your Chinese is pretty good.
The engine sounds diesel, so it may freeze again if you go northern places in winter again lol.
Probably not. Nowadays all diesel engine in China equiped with pre-heating function. Should be able to start in almost any contion. I used to calibration this function in -30℃, so I know it.
YZ Chen good to know, thanks!
Did they mention on the price of this secondhand RV? I only heard the brand new price.
Much much better than most of the us rvs
are you planning a road trip or something?
I did a big one not too long ago and posted the video on RUclips. We go on road trips all the time, so yeah, looking for something a bit more comfortable.

Wow you living dream life I dream it from childhood how much it cost you wish to have small one like this and wish to drive from Pakistan to China just wishing
I wish some of this design would make it to North America
Wonder if countries in Asia have infrastructure for RV’s, dump stations and RV parks.
Wow! I’ve actually been watching a lot of smaller RV/larger Van videos lately. My daughter and her partner are seriously thinking about doing #VanLife for a few years. Most of the ones we’ve seen are custom made, but I really like the designs of these-different from what I’ve seen here in the US! (Especially the washer! My daughter would LOVE that addition! 😂). This video had me wondering..
Is there anything in China resembling the Tiny House movement here? Or even #VanLife? It seems more young people each year, both in US and Canada, with the freedom of working remotely, are choosing a traveling lifestyle. Personally, I think it’s GREAT considering the small percentage of Americans who have never even been outside their state, nevermind the country. I’ve talked to my kids about this a LOT, that because we did so much traveling outside the country, they have a completely different view of the world than most of their peers. My friends and family used to tease us that we were a “1 family traveling UN.” 😁. So, I think it’s GREAT that these young people are now getting out to see the rest of the country-hopefully that inspires them to go even further!
Name of factory or company please
I am impressed with your Chinese well spoken. Are there plenty RV parks in China? Is that easy for hooking up with fresh water or dump your black or grey water ?
Would be interesting to know the address of this shop, or the name, cause then I would drive over to Dongguan and check their RVs first hand. I'd like to see, how they work, and the price would be very interesting.

plz help me ship one to subic bay?
I'm wondering who gonna buy these vehicles? These kind of vehicles are rear in the Shenzhen though
Maybe for the export or some private club that focus on travel.
Ken Yup retired couple or hippies
I suspect a lot of people will, they just need to find out that motorhomes exist and understand how they work. In Europe roads are full of motorhomes and caravans every summer. Its an excellent way to travel and see things. Drive wherever you want, stop wherever you want, don't bother with hotels. Caravans require site hookups though, so they need infrastructure, but motorhomes don't depend on infrastructure.
I've seen some in Hainan, probably bought by the retired eastnorth elderly family for road trip from the north to Hainan avoiding cold winter.
It makes me really want to travel China 🇨🇳 can anyone tell me what the cost is ☺️ a Rv like this
Chinese RVs are more stylish than American's one . . .
Nah the Chinese ones are basic camper van.
blue copper wow calm your horses Commie! I said that because American RVS are more bigger and have more room than this “RV” shown in this video that looks like some Fiat/Ram camper van.

How affordable are RV's in China?
Far cheaper than in the US. You could get a decent fully loaded RV for about 50k USD, brand new.

it s not a big deal to buy one, but it s expensive to buy a parking space and get a local register plate for it.
