Vergil - "Dante, tell me. How is it that you knew my son." Dante - "He was a wild punk. The first day we met he dropkicked me and then impaled me to a statue without even exchanging one liners." Vergil - "So, Nero really is my son."
Both of them Exchanged Sword attacks Nero comes stopping both, then dante say that line that makes Nero Slap Him and knockback him "shut up! deadweight!" nero said Vergil,Chuckles "i see,you are my son,but i aint pay your child support"
Oh i didnt catch that and so does Nero. If he had the wits of Dante, hed catch the whiff that Dante was implying that they are blood related anyways so he can have the sword. Nah but hes too constipated like his dad. But Vergil is smart af, so hed probably get it.
Dante had his suspicions that Nero is Vergil's son. But he wanted to be sure which is why he said "It's got to stay in the family." The answer Nero gave was certain proof that he is Vergil's son after all. As it reminded him of the final battle he had with Vergil. It was only due to this certainty that Dante then said "Then keep it.". He didn't really want the sword, he wanted to be sure Nero is Vergil's son.
Also in the book for 4 when Nero activates his DT for the first time it knocked Dante into Devil Trigger because it was strong that it hit him from across Fortuna and Dante didn’t know what was random and unexpectedly it was the same energy he felt from Vergil long ago. That’s why he had to bait Nero into using his DT in the cutscene to find out if he was Vergils son.
Actually Dante already knew when he saw Yamato's reaction to Nero and already had suspicions when they first met before. That "It's gotta stay in the family." was more like a hint that Nero was family. But Nero didn't really catch that, which is why he was so dumbfounded after Vergil's resurrection. Another thing to note about Dante realizing there's Nero - Notice how he has this empty glare in his eyes - his face upon shooting Sanctus is even similar to DMC2's packshot - and stays completely silent before he gets attacked by Nero, just like he used to in DMC2, where he still dealt with the aftermath of Vergil's "death". But when Nero shows that same attitude, look and even some of the tricks Vergil used himself, Dante's slowly opening up and joking around as he did in the other games before - because he realizes, that this kid he just met shares something with his brother. And he knows it. "Looks like you too are a- [half-demon? Sparda?]" "We're the same, you and I... and the others. Though I *suspect* you carry something different from the others. You'll come to learn the meaning soon enough."
I always wondered if Dante didn’t tell him about his heritage because it was put a giant target on Nero’s back (the way he told Nero in 5 made it seem like he never wanted to have that conversation)
@@zeromrcy I miss those days, where I played with friends and family. And where you could borrow someone’s disc and play immediately instead of waiting hours for a game to install… Underrated opinion; I actually liked the Kinect too, I had so much fun with my family and best friend.
I think Dante had his suspicions. but the confirmation was there when he saw the Virgil after image in the back as well as how Nero said he *NEEDED* the Yamato.
He knew he was a special demon in the intro and he knew he was his nephew when Yamato was restored. Still I think Dante would have given him the sword so he could fight. Nero was already a fellow demon hunter even if before he knew he was his brothers son.
Nobody gonna mention how Nero used the same move to disarm Dante like Vergil did on dmc3, even the angle of the sword when it's about to stab Dante is the same, reflected on rebellion. And it's nice to see how Dante learns from his mistakes and completely avoid it.
On the contrary, one of the reasons why I left him the sword is because he believes that he has the power to defend it. Dante is clear about the importance of that sword and that it should not fall into the wrong hands. The thing is that I never imagined that Vergil was still alive and would claim her again.
@@MrMUERETECTMExactly, Dante figured the next big threat would try coming for him directly again. Instead, they got nero first, plus no one could have tracked nero down via yamato besides dante, vergil, or mundus. Mundus wouldn’t even be interested in Yamato.
It has always bothered me that, other than during DT, Nero never uses the Yamato. He's shown to be able to summon it and use it practically, but only in cutscenes. Frankly, it's a shame that Nero doesn't get more combat options. Devil arms is a big thing to the series, so seeing Nero stuck using the same gun and sword options is a real drag when they could have just have granted him something like Dark Slayer style. If they do anything beyond DMC5, I hope that take a risk and expand Nero's arsenal of Swords and Guns.
I agree to an extent, though if memory serves, Hideaki Itsuno made Nero to be a more beginner-friendly character in DMC4, without completely abandoning the depth of gameplay DMC is known for. I'd say they --MOSTLY-- succeeded, but if there was any one issue that I personally had with Nero gameplaywise, it was that his combos tended to be very flow-charty (i.e. the same sequence of moves over and over). DMC5 actually ameliorated this by introducing the Devil Breaker System, allowing for significantly more experimentation with his moves, without completely abandoning his more beginner-friendly playstyle. I find it brilliant how they managed to pull this off with Nero. Mind you, I say "beginner-friendly" in a loose way here, as Nero, like any DMC character, still has a learning curve. But this is just my perspective on it, take it as you will.
@@MaelstromTheDemon Definitely agree with you on this take. I had some trouble making combos with Nero and just learning how to use him effectively. It's better for me in 5 because of the consumable Devil arms. I can now SOME combos and I'm learning how to effectively play with him, but I feel like I'm coming along.
@@MaelstromTheDemon I completely agree with your statements. But I don't agree that Nero is user friendly. He's simple, yes. But since he doesn't scale with the same level of options as Dante, he ends up being a lesson on bad habits when you actually get into the meat of style changes and weapon swapping. You don't really need to get into all of that with Dante either because they're just combat options, not requirements to master like Exceed or Bringer grapples on Bosses. Many may not agree with my next statement, but Vergil is actually more user-friendly and a great introduction before experiencing Dante than Nero is. Vergil only has 3 Devil arms (kinda), does insane damage that rewards you for stacking high combos and keeping a strong style meter, but also punishes you for any screw ups. Vergil isn't complicated to play he just requires practice. All the while giving a sense of accomplishment for improving and training the player on what makes Dante fun to play. Nero and Dante are just too different. What Dante has can be overwhelming to someone new, I'm not trying to ignore that. But Nero doesn't prepare you for Dante.
nero's grabby arm was a cool mechanic too, but i absolutely HATED the red queen rev-rev mechanic so much. to me it always felt so insanely awkward and bleh, that in both DMC4 and 5, it was the sole reason why i absolutely hated nero, and would always look forward to using Dante or Vergil more

Dante's demon form was just reacting to a connection with nero just like nero's arm before dante enters. Same with vergil in dmc 5 Also happened in dmc 3 where dante was transforming to demon back and forth reacting to the demon world portal being opened
DMC 4 Dante: "Adios, kid" DMC 5 Dante: "Adios." .. he literally doesn't see him as a kid anymore since Nero is now able to safe the world sometimes (He still just thinks he's dead weight)

I imagine that was his assumption given the shock at the "reveal" in V. Other than when he thinks Dante is going to call him dead weight, he's weirdly respectful to Dante compared to how he treats everyone else, ain't he? Though that could just as likely be from the humbling experience of a fully charged Royal Release to the face during DMC 4.

I think i know why DMC feels so cool and awesome. In other games you got the "The road of the hero" where you start as a weak shit and build yourself into being strong enough to be the last boss. In DMC you're just as strong or stronger than the final boss. You're a complete unit who can kill and fight absolutely everything. You're so strong that nothing makes you feel worry or scared and your character shows that confidence and you also feel it too. Is not a road of "Weak to strong" is a road of "I'm such a badass too big to fight this small bum... OH COOL. NEW WEAPON!. Do i need it? Nope, but it makes me look cooler tho!"
The only times where this isn’t the case is dmc3, Nero in 4, and the final boss of dmc1 other then that yeah your on the money I didn’t think of it this way before
I tried beating this game with no upgrades except for speed and it was surprisingly easy on devil hunter mode. Also Dante is much less of a head ache when he doesn’t have a million moves to use.
I'd say that my self-confidence is most visible in the way I walk. And my walk was inspired by this Dante. And this is why he's my favorite video game character. He's not just a cool looking clump of pixels with sick animations. He inspired me to approach life with style, troll all my challenges, enjoy myself like no one is watching, find myself impressive even if no one else does, keep my word and protect those I love.❤
When I got to play this game, my first impression was: "Who the hell is Nero?" "Why is Dante killing everyone!?" And honestly, it was a bit disappointing at first, but after you play DMC 5, you understand a lot about the fourth game.
Dude, the game literally shows you that the "people" that Dante kills are all demons/half demons in disguise lol. And you didn't have to even play DMC5 to figure out who Nero is yourself.
How do you finish this game an still think Dante is killing everyone? Not to mention look at Nero in the blue with yamato an not go "hey that looks like Virgil"
After watching some of these cutscenes, i have a feeling that thing what Nero said at the end of DmC 4 was not just a badass line, it also looks like Devil Bringer can absorb demonic powers by just physical contact, that first cutscene where Dante entered DT for a second and canceled it, and the then in DmC 5 when Nero stands between Dante and Vergil they came out of their SDT forms and Vergil commented like "This is curious" like it was not intentional, and when you counter Vergil air drop with a damn slam-dunk but with his head instead of a ball he also comes out of SDT. Anyway it is just a thought
I love that they made Dante seem like a psycho murderer bad guy in the beginning to where it makes the audience question why he's killing humans all of a sudden. But then we come to learn, along with Nero, that The Order are worshiping demons and experimenting in transcedending beyond their human forms into demon forms.
The first time I saw Nero in DMC4. I got confused he and Dante 😂 But, after knowing the story of DMC5 I soon realized my prediction was right.(Nero has a Dante brother's blood.)
“It has to stay in the family. Then keep it.” “I had my thoughts at first, but then I saw how the Yamato reacted - and I as sure. Vergil’s your father.”
I love how Dante was just casually holding back. Even when he realized Nero skills was improving with they're first encounter. Just extra nonchalant with it.
1:19 That part where Dante just has flashbacks from a similar scene happening around 20 years prior and is like "Well, I got switchable styles now." And proceed to change his style in order to dodge.
So Dante knew he was Vergil’s kid at that moment. Also leaves a hint at this saying that the sword has to stay in the family and then telling him he can keep it. And even though he never told Nero until 5 he still looked out for his nephew. Dante is a badass uncle
Moment when Dante realise that his brother make him uncle and nero is to close to what character vergil is, only one point left to be the same it's loose Kirie , and than V 2.0 is borned.
Just to memory jog people who I think forgot in dmc5 dante confirms that he was already suspicious but "saw how the yamato reacted" (presumably this cutscene) and immediately knew nero was vergil son

Ain't no way you're this cringe 💀
@@jeykeyo4682 I'm actually worse. And I'm not apologizing.
@@jeykeyo4682 nothing wrong with it hater
I thought this was a really cool comment. Personally the way Alucard moves from Castlevania Symphony of the Night is my favorite.
@@jeykeyo4682you prolly live your life miserably than this guy 😂😂😂😂
I love that Credo checks Sanctus' vitals. Just in case he survived the point blank .45 to the face.
7:48 this make me laugh 😂
0:55 I think this was the moment Dante saw Vergil in Nero
This was my first DMC game. Still love this game.
@@arcadius3257 He appears to be a fan of Horizon franchise, don't expect too much from him...
How do you finish this game an still think Dante is killing everyone? Not to mention look at Nero in the blue with yamato an not go "hey that looks like Virgil"
@@Andriej69 rarest insult I’ve ever seen 😭😂
Is this a joke or are you really an idiot
Is it just me? Or Dmc 4 dante is much more badass than the other ones?
because he is always on the top of the game, unlike others
in DMC 5 he even got his ass kicked pretty bad
Because he wasn't against Vergil or anything as equals as Vergil.
Well he's cool in dmc2
Real videogamers don't skip Devil May Cry 2
@@曉p-p7t Real video gamers know that Devil May Cry 2 is garbage
I wanted to hear Nero say Getsuga Tenshō one time
After watching some of these cutscenes, i have a feeling that thing what Nero said at the end of DmC 4 was not just a badass line, it also looks like Devil Bringer can absorb demonic powers by just physical contact, that first cutscene where Dante entered DT for a second and canceled it, and the then in DmC 5 when Nero stands between Dante and Vergil they came out of their SDT forms and Vergil commented like "This is curious" like it was not intentional, and when you counter Vergil air drop with a damn slam-dunk but with his head instead of a ball he also comes out of SDT. Anyway it is just a thought
MmMmmMmmm... Interesting
This is... curious.
It does, as far as everyone know, it can store stuff and use them as powers, Credo's shield allowed him to use his DT to COMMAND GRAB enemies
I love that they made Dante seem like a psycho murderer bad guy in the beginning to where it makes the audience question why he's killing humans all of a sudden. But then we come to learn, along with Nero, that The Order are worshiping demons and experimenting in transcedending beyond their human forms into demon forms.
The way Dante pretended to rev his sword😂
The first time I saw Nero in DMC4.
I got confused he and Dante 😂
But, after knowing the story of DMC5
I soon realized my prediction was right.(Nero has a Dante brother's blood.)
Honestly, I do as well lol 😂
Vergil be like: "You told him to keep my sword, Dante? Foolishness, Dante. Foolishness"
2:09 That moment, Nero sounded like Vergil and emulated his lust of power which probably gave Dante another reason to believe he’s Vergil’s son
3:40 Dante is a true Uncle to kick his nephew's ass 😂😂😂
There's so much foreshadowing up here.
I’ve been watching this channel for quite a while now keep up the great work happy 4 of July stay safe much love ❤
I like how they gave him a blue jacket as a skin. Capcom knew what they were doing
When nero said i need this he surely sounds like vergil
Is it my imagination or when Nero uses his DT in cutscene - you can hear small part of Devils Never Cry?
“It has to stay in the family. Then keep it.”
“I had my thoughts at first, but then I saw how the Yamato reacted - and I as sure. Vergil’s your father.”
3:05 my fav part
So glad this version of Dante survived the shitty 2013 DMC and came back to us in Devil May Cry 5
My eyes are up here
*Camera man "No"
Dante was probably thinking "wow I've got a nephew, never knew that dull cold party pooper got someone"
Everytime I see this clip it reminds me of all the hype I had when they announced it after I beat DMC3. This game was boss.
ok can we talk about the respect Dante and nero share like holly shit the respect is off the charts 100% and no don't anyone dare do the vegeta thing
8:07 you could almost hear Dante say *EEYYAAAAAH*
Man,Dante ALWAYS plays it cool man!! 🔥🔥
This game was too good for its time
Literally though. If the game had its development finished properly, it could've been a 2009 or 2010 release.
@@Toni-ic7ki man imagine how good it would look if it came out then
What about gta4?
i love the part where Dante's using Yamato and beats Nero. When that totally, undoubtedly, 100% happened, at all in this video.
That soundtrack while you fight dante is called”Forza Del Destino” it is so powerful.
1:22 Dante learned from past mistake
9:00 most badass in history
1:13 ... Am I the only one that noticed the right eye of Dante doing a weird eye thingy?
I'd like to think dante always knew he and Nero were related someway somehow
So Dante knew he was Vergil’s kid at that moment. Also leaves a hint at this saying that the sword has to stay in the family and then telling him he can keep it. And even though he never told Nero until 5 he still looked out for his nephew. Dante is a badass uncle
The uncle of the year award goes to dante
dmc 4 dante : it got to stay in the family
dmc 5 dante : welp..
Well, it sort of did.
1:21 Dante had a flashback for a moment
“It’s got to stay in the family”
And so it does
I’m a 1999 baby and danm I hate how I never played this game but after dmc5 im looking back at all the other gameplays of dmc 😮😢
How touching.. an Uncle giving nephew a lesson on Coolness
1:26 WHY DOES THIS SCENE MAKE ME LAUGH HAHAHAHAHA
Dante: "I'm here for the sword."
Nero: "If you want it... then you'll have to take it."
Moment when Dante realise that his brother make him uncle and nero is to close to what character vergil is, only one point left to be the same it's loose Kirie , and than V 2.0 is borned.
Nero: "Kid?! The only worse insult would be something like "deadweight", but I don't see us working together."
"Not a bad name"
"Neither as yours"
I was just too blind to see it
10:15 at this point Dante knew he is Vergil son.
Like on their first reunion an awakening of DT and also the Sin DT.
"It's gotta stay in the family"
Oh Dante, if we only knew at the time
Dante out of breath showing it wasn’t just easy to overpower Nero
1:24 Dante: "dmc 3 flashback..."
Just to memory jog people who I think forgot in dmc5 dante confirms that he was already suspicious but "saw how the yamato reacted" (presumably this cutscene) and immediately knew nero was vergil son
7:40 LMAOOOOOOO Dante
2:18 Dante already knew that Nero is Vergil's son right here... it must stays in family but Dante permits Nero to keep it
2:28 this song makes me cry
7:41 i find it funny of how dante tries to charge his sword like nero's
nero still learning in the moment
