    You should probably adjust the LED Bulb, so that the chips face the 3 and 9 o'clock position, from the video it seems that it doesn't do that, that's probably why your high beams are almost non-existent

    • @asmongoldsmouth9839
      @asmongoldsmouth9839 Год назад +1

      Not just the high beam efficiency, but the light pattern gets messed up as well. The beam reach up and down becomes shrunken. The width of the beam from side to side is much more narrow to add.

    It looks like the old bulbs actually work better with the oem headlight housing but the other ones are brighter and the white is nice

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  2 года назад +5

      Yeah, it's really close. The main difference is the color of the light and maybe the light intensity as well. I tried to do an apples to apples comparison and I kinda missed the mark a bit. Literally, I never marked the road or my exact location on the "before" segment, so I had to guess where I was during the "after" portion of the video. I'm definitely in two different positions in the video, but close. Either way, I like the lights and I'm still very happy with them. But I think the biggest difference is really just the color. For me it was a very worth while upgrade, cause I hate yellow light! Cheers 🍻.

    Did you get any error codes on your dashboard?

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  2 года назад

      No, none at all. This is a simple plug and play system. This was a 3 wire system if memory serves, you only have a ground, then high/low beam wires. Pretty simple really, but I guess some of the newer vehicles are different? I'm decades removed now from the service industry, but it works the same today as it ever did, just with more monitoring. Cheers 🍻

    How did the sticky tape on the driver hold up?

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  2 месяца назад +1

      Still there as far as I know. My cable management was nice and tidy, so that tape only needs to hold the feather weight driver itself. If it ever lets go though, I probably won't know until a wire breaks and I have reason to pull the lights again.

      As you can see in the video, I have no good place to tie the driver modules which is why I mounted it the way I did. The double sided sticky pads are specifically included for mounting these modules. All surfaces were thoroughly cleaned with rubbing alcohol before assembly, and so far everything is still right where I put it. I can peak behind the headlights with a mirror and flashlight, that's how I know. Those modules do get hot, that's why I keep checking on them. But so far so good.

    • @asmongoldsmouth9839
      @asmongoldsmouth9839 Год назад +1

      @Richie Grohs - Brightest doesn't mean best. LED light pattern is the most important issue for reflector and fluted housing. Second to that is brightness for what the driver wants to accomplish. No human needs 20,000+ lumens unless they are off-roading.
      As a computer engineer I work with electrical loads, heat contingencies and efficiency design and flaws all of the time. The more power you use, the more heat it creates. Heat (even if cooled properly) causes early degredation in electronics.

  • @jairrivera2284

    Have you had any issues with the overheating?

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  2 года назад +1

      No, not yet. I felt the heat from the drivers before I reassembled the head lights. It does get hot. But I do not daily drive this truck, so I don't know if hot is hot enough to fail or a period of time. But the drivers do get hot, it was a concern to me while installing the lights. But the cable length is so short that you are left with few options.
      I did what made sense to me, but I think extending some wires and mounting the drivers in a clear path of air, might not be a bad idea. They do get hot!
      Cheers 🍻.

      Your halogen bulbs get over 400°F. If THOSE don't melt your wiring or housing, the 220°F LEDs sure as heck won't. LoL

    Are these legal to use on the road?

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  Год назад

      I do believe that to be very much state dependent. These LED lights are no brighter than the OEM lights, they're just a different color temperature. Cheers 🍻

  • @lone_wolf4809

    Ah you forgot one step. The led’s are supposed to be at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock for the proper beam. The locking ring does detach with a slight twist from the led. Then you should be able to line it up properly.

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  Год назад +1

      Just because you didn't watch me check the clocking doesn't mean I forgot anything! If you had to do your install twice because you didn't read the instructions, well that's not forgetfulness, it's ignorance! Just like making an assumption rather than asking a question.....🙄
