Does this have a strong smell? I'm thinking of using silicone because it's odorless, but this is cheaper so I am looking into it. I also wonder if this is harder to work with. I also saw your comment about 'Sculpt gel'. Is that something different? Thanks.
3d gel does not realy have a smell to it. But that is not for all gelatin products! I love sculpt gel because it is a silicon. Once it sets it will stay where you put it and it does not react to temperatur or moistus. And that had no smell as well.
@@SchminkenGrime Thanks for explaining. I emailed Titanic FX about their gelatin cubes and they told me it didn't have much of a smell compared to other brands so I decided to try that first (was able to get a good deal on Amazon). So Sculpt Gel is basically the same thing as 3rd Degree Silicone, but a different brand? Silicone sounds like liquid latex (which I tried), but easier to work with and no odor (albeit more expensive).
Did you heat it up to a bolling point? If it boils the texturen breaks and it wont dry anymore. Of it is just sticky put some powder over it. that will take the stickyness away. Hope this helps.
SchminkenGrime I microwaved it for 10 seconds; and when I pour it into a bowl it eventually dries but won’t dry on my skin...I put powder over it and it’s still too wet to use. I even tried microwaving it for less time to see if that would work and it still didn’t ):
Young-lady, Thanks for the vedio, learnt heaps from watching you, I use the products in teach young teenagers first aid. Thanks again

This video seriously helped me. Thank you.
So happy it helped you! Thank you 😘
Hi is it possible to "create" volume on arms like if I had more muscles ? Or do you recommend another product ?
I would not reccomend doing this with gelatin as it melts with temperature. You could try using silicone. That should work.
can i use this with my skin tone (shown in prof pic) or will it be too light...cuz i cannot find a darker gel without it being the dark blood one
If you would get the clear one you can color it to your own skin tone. Just mix a bit of eyeshadow poder or foundation powder in it.
So no skin adhesive is needed beneath or before applying the gel?
Nope. It sticks realy well to the skin
@@SchminkenGrime awesome. I have flesh tone that I’m going to use. Thank you very much.
can the same be done with liquid latex?
Yes . You can make these wounds with latex as well
@@SchminkenGrime Thanks!
Does it matter that I melted mine in hot water instead of in a microwave?
Not at all! As long as you dont put it directly in the water and dont let it boil.
I've never used 3d gel before, does anyone know if you can reuse the stuff in the bottle after it cools down?
In the bottle yes. What you put on the skin not
How long does it take to cure/dry?
Just a few minutes. it dries when it cools down again
It’s perfect how are you so good
Help! Mine won’t dry at all, I’ve tried everything and it’s still super sticky and wet to the touch.

That is strange. Do you use the Mehron 3D gel or do you use a different brand?
@@EmilyTooke same! Mine won't dry either. You can't put powder on it-it's that wet. :/
Having this same issue! Using Mehron 3D flesh. Won't dry!! Only 10 sec. Then 5sec.
I le es yo know how hoy do it if you dont have a microwave
How do you remove it?
As it is a gelatin you get most of it of just with your fingers. Any residu can be removed with water and soap. Easy to remove 😊
How you do it if you dont have a microwave?
You do it "au bain marie" or just put the bottle of 3d gel in hot water untill it is hot enough to use
boiling hot water for 5 - 10 minutes
How do you use this to create a prosthetic?
I will make a video on this! Prommiss
I'm actually going to try and do this today! So would you describe what you'd do?
It’s not like what do you do it’s come white !! I just removed it
Good
