I recently went to the ER with scary high blood pressure. I'm a 52 year old female. I do not smoke or drink alcohol. I smoke marijuana, but don't indulge in edibles or any other recreational drugs of any kind. I drank when I was in my early 20's, but was never a fan and I never wanted to leave my car overnight so I basically stopped drinking so I could drive. It's been years since I've had a sip of alcohol or even had it in my presence. However, at the hospital I tested positive for small traces of ethanol in my system. I cannot tell you if it was from a blood test or a urine test -- they were taking everything from me and testing it. lol. Anyway, how could I possibly have alcohol in my system? I hate that they might have thought I was lying about consuming alcohol, but I'm concerned that I have a toxic substance in my system that I can't explain. Do you know what it could be?
*10:10** yeah, when thr is inadequate medical care, and ppl are abandoned by thr clinical, team a range of bad things hapn. the opiate crisis is the fault of medicine abandoning pts too; not "purdue pharma and the sacklers lying to us". it is in part this puratanical **_have a frat party where everyone has 2 drinks_** mixed w our undertreating pain and disallowing pt internal locus at the other end.* our job isnt just to get them to the hallway. it is to help them flourish. sometimes they fall, as is thr right. but our fault is when we dont even give them a choice. - JC
