Well said and all true. I've been in the Muscle Car hobby since the late '60s (with my '62 Impala SS 409) and have met every one of those guys. You nailed it!!!
In response to scabs, I love it. I am new to the corvette family, my love is for the Z-28.That being said there's an old statement, good parts are not cheap and cheap parts are not good..
What about the “young true enthusiast”? That would be me in the 80s driving a 1972 stingray roadster. This same person will have vast amounts of knowledge concerning their generation of Corvette. They will not have a trailer queen but they will have a great respect for those who do. I saw a stunning C4 several years ago at a Michigan show. The airbrushed intake was amazing. I noticed that he had a dual post battery in the car and that the upper larger posts were not covered. I politely told him that I had read a post on the Corvette Forum where the owner had the same setup and it caused a fire when something metal shorted the posts. He was not happy with me at all and gave me dirty looks throughout the day. I was just trying to help him out.
