- www.motorbeam.com tests the much awaited TVS Apache 200 which is the new flagship bike from the Hosur based automaker. The Apache RTR 200 uses a bored out engine of the Apache 180 but is new in almost every way, featuring more power, better handling and a stiffer frame. It also gets better hardware such as KYB suspension, Pirelli tyres, fuel-injection, dual-channel ABS and the likes.
The TVS Apache 200 uses 4-valves in its engine and is available in 8 variants. The flagship RTR machine is priced from Rs. 98,000/- (on-road, Mumbai).

I test rided both Pulsar As 200 and Apache 200 4v , and booked Apache right away, Apache feels so much better than as, very smooth linear ,powerful and comfortable.
Which variant?
base variant, carburetor one, FI is Still not available in Pune.

A good performance bike with smooth 200cc engine, efi, disc brakes and abs, everything has been completely developed in India. Good work TVS!!!

TVS Apache RTR 200 4v carburetor is my first ever bike.I spend lot of time on internet to find best bike.Finally i find dis bike with less price n better den other bikes.Its been now 1 n half year to the bike and i never feel regret.Bike is very good.Its give me pleasure of riding a beast.And i am really feeling proud dat TVS is an Indian company.

Not sure abt TVS tire but MRF zappers are abuse friendly considering indian roads....Pirelli's are better if u ride on GOOD indian roads

if you noticed that TVS build the bike not only for India market, moreover for south east Asia's. Because for Indonesia market, they only provide the FI and pirelli version. even the ergonomic and riding feeling of this RTR200 is very close to Indonesia Yamaha New Vixion (the most best selling sportbike in here).
what I'm trying to say is, that the TVS rnd division have been taking the inputs also from Indonesian bikers for their new Apache.
so, this is kind of win win solution to brake both India and Indonesian market.

There's something up with your review vehicle. My 200 starts vibrating post 4k rpm. I even complained when I gave it for the first service but the vibrations are still there.
That's very early in the rev band.

this bike would have looked a lot more aggressive and better had they set the headlamp a bit lower parallel to the scoops just like gixxer or any other Kawasaki naked bikes .. they slightly missed the trick there.
beauty is upon seeing eyes. distinct look is what that gives to you.. not bad

Is the bike as light and manuaverable as the FZ or the gixxer for city urban conditions? Which tyres would you recommend for such use?
Also, how spacious is the bike for two, and driving ergonomics for a 6 footer?
How much is the difference in low-end power between carb and FI version?

Hi. I have booked Apache RTR 200 Carburettor ( Pirelli ) and paid advance for booking on March 21st, 2017 . It's almost 41days and still they haven't delivered my bike. Everytime I enquire, the come up with the 2 statements
1. New load of bikes have come but in that we have Matte Red RTR 200 WITHOUT PIRELLI.
2. New load of bikes have come but in that we have ONLY MATTE BLACK WITH PIRELLI.
I'M NOT ATALL SATISFIED WITH THEIR REASONS. IS THERE ANYTGING I COULD DO SO THAT THEY WILL DELIVER MY BIKE SOON?!

Brakes are good but ABS variants aren't available yet.

it is a very good machine.. a tad bit difficult to handle.. not built fr the city but for the highway
Anyone noticed the bigger rear sprocket.. bigger sprocket=more teeth=faster acceleration.. i bet TVS has something bigger up its sleeves. ;)

Masses will like it while some demanding will be disappointed because of no liquid cooling and 6th gear. Nevertheless it is a good product as compared to some premium 150cc bikes but not as VFM as Pulsar NS200(relaunching with FI). I own a Apache 160 FI and I am happy to hear that it is smooth and vibration free mainly due to the balancer shaft. Also it has a more eye-catching design and signature Apache exhaust note which will surely attract the buyers.

Yes .. i like but when i see its review i am not fully satisfied with its look.. when i heard TVS merged with BMW and launching apache new model.. i was happy.. but not reveiw was not fully satisfied and i think its more to have some features. So please think about. No doubt apache models are always good. But apache 200 needs more improvement sporty look wise..

best bike ever i used apache 160 n yesterday i got apache 200. cornering sitting gear shifting clutch handling is best. i have also 220 but apache is better than pulsar.

Reasons behind this.The Avenger has added advantage like riding comfort for long ride due to its sitting posture but it's specifications are more or less the old ones wheras RTR 200 is with new technology & features but this is a new engine whose performance is yet to be checked for durability. so why RTR 200 above Avenger cruise..since both have plus and minus. pls clarify.
