Excellent video. FYI: The area where the mil stamp was located, with the small creek running through it, is a hazmat site. The small creek is carrying heavy metals and cancer causing agents down into Deep creek. There is a plan (10yrs old) to lay a plastic type sheeting material down and then cover with a few feet of earth and re-directing the small stream.
I wonder if they were to do that by redirecting the creek? If it would help clear out the cancer- causing agents that would have been a problem for people and animals by filtering out those contaminated agent's into the ground soils? I am just wondering if any of the animals have been affected by this agent? If so? Would they have any fact detailing this? And if this would have affected deer that would have possibly been eaten by humans and transferred to the humans? If this makes sense to you?
This is a great old mining site to go to and not that hard to get to. I've hiked up to the old mine site on the ridge and all the mines we could find were caved in. It's a fun hike - we did it in September and started out at Copper City around 80 degrees and up top where the mines are it was snowing!! Many parts of the road were washed out and we had to hike around them a few times - this was 32 years ago so I'm sure there are more washouts now, but it was a really fun hike.
That looks like a walk to the mill site that's fine though and thanks for sharing this with us. Have you guys ever encountered any cougar or something else like a bear ?
That was a great video and tour of the site, hopefully i can make it there in person someday!
Thanks Ben appreciate the comments. Hope you can get out there.

Thank you, Lee, for the information.

Yes, it is a great area!
That's changed a lot since I was up there in 2016.

Bears, yes, cougars, not that we knew about anyway.
@@ghosttownsandminesofwashington Big bears or just small black bears?
There's definitely mountain lions up there, I've known people who've seen them.
@@nopc9728 Black bears, yes cougars reside in most areas we explore just no sightings.
