A couple corrections for things you guys have been missing recently:
- Jetbikes can fire their heavy weapons at no penalty, because they are bikes. You were shooting the Shroud Runners at -1 on the move.
- Flamers do not ignore cover of any kind. That's an old edition rule I think.
Thanks 👍 i think the -1 for the bikers was for shooting through the wall which we counted as dense cover 👍🙂
in addition the space marine player started on 8 cp when he should have started on 6 due to upgrading both his chaplain and his tech marine both of those strats are -1 cp and increase the points of the model
Alpha strike was pretty huge as it basicly made the knight useless (well, at least he was a bullet sponge for the 1st turn) Also, a lot of failed rolls didn't help the aeldari. I would definitely bring at least one psychic character too as you severly lacked some psychic support in few situations.
Think you're right about strands of fate - I think scorps are better as ambush than charging in, that overwatch deny is really good on the banshees.
Could run the Autarch with the banshee mask with the scorpions and block OW with him and get the scorpions in like that
@@joelgore362 lots of effort to do that though - you could just as easy have something else cheaper charge first to turn off overwatch if you’re going to dump points to help the scorps, like a Vyper that is pretty tanky and could do it from decent range.
Im finally starting to work my eldars too.
Had small about 500p force I got few years ago when I started the hobby but they have been mostly sitting in box since.
Recently preordered some of the new models and bringing strenght to 1000p at first now.
Time to properly paint these guys and fix my previous models that I tried doing before I knew what I was doing with paints xD

love the Eldar! but the serpents shield nullifying 1-3 is only against ranged attacks. ;)
those objective markers, I have a doubt, Im working by memory here, but I think that the core role book says that an objective markers is 40mm in diameter, and to control with you must be within 3" of it, that means that from the center its actually 96.2mm, that will be 20mm + 3", not 3"
I haven’t looked but I don’t think the serpent shield works in combat, I might be getting confused with an imperial knight shield though

Also if those scorpions were in the falcon for the cloudstrike i think it has a transport capacity of 6
@@ascendingpotato9221 yep the scorpions being in the falcon would have definitely been the play to keep them alive, even if it meant cutting the unit down.

Strands of Fate is supposed to happen at the top of each battle round. (SoF; Player 1 Phases; Player 2 Phases; Sof; etc.; etc.). It looks like you were do it at the start of each player turn. Still a great report. Love it! :)

I think rangers do the mortal in addition to damage so in the turn one on the shrouds 2 saves should have been made, there's so many little things in this codex 😅

@Luke, u couldve just deployed the avengers and the guardians and then put them in reserve for 2 cp instead of 3, while also having options open for your scorpions. Just a thought.

Should the Astreus cost 1cp for forgeworld and the detachment cost 1 cp because same as warlord army?
the first turn make or break was that little titan. I just feel that a fire pike team was needed here on a wave serpent then a 30 man who walked on to the field.
Sorry for spam xD but @Luke, the wave serpent transhuman only works against ranged attacks i believe.

Tough game!! I really don’t think the list is that bad, but I do think the philosophy of getting a move on turn 1 to win games of 9th is wrong - especially for Eldar. In the two games so far you’ve over committed and even with phantasm paid the price. Draw the enemy out and then pounce; you’ve seen the effect of deep strike but this can be done on the board with bikes, serpents and falcons. I’ve only played a few games with Eldar but turn 4 and 5 is there I came into the game and overwhelmed the board. Same with my partner’s space marines - it takes her a while to get around the board, so a neat castle with bikers held back let’s her come into her own turn 4 and 5 when the opposition has burnt out in terms of numbers and CP. Try it next time with the Eldar - go Tau gun line, draw them in and gun them down - then charge and leap over the top of them and rush the backfield.
So hard to decide what to cheer for 😆
I have a primaris army but also a small eldar one... but then again alpha legion traitor :p so I guess eldar it is

We played all the bushes as obscuring so that didn't happen :-) just the titanics couldn't be obscured sadly.

90% of the salt is in jest buddy, sorry if your not enjoying the content I'm in. When we're filming it always feels like we are having good fun and the salt is just there in a funny way. I will try to tone it down in future if its not enjoyable to watch, we always aim to make the content as enjoyable as possible.

I'm not a native speaker so maybe that is why i cannot tell the difference.
Note that i commented in the past for a similar thing on another battle report and that time Tom acknowledged his saltiness :) So the barrier between salt and fun salt is thin.
Also maybe i'm more sensitive to negativity after a grueling day at work and just look for good vibes.
Anyway some people seems to enjoy this so have good fun your way!

@@StrikingScorpion82 2022 GT pack p4, 2nd column - "If a player's army includes one or more SH Aux Detatchments, they can change the Command Benefits of one of them to '+2CP if the unit in this Detatchment is not your warlord but it is the same faction as your Warlord's Detatchment, and that Faction is not CHAOS, IMPERIUM, AELDARI, YNNARI or TYRANIDS" - so in this game the factions were BEIL-TAN and RED SCORPIONS, so Astreus and Wraithknight should both have been 1CP not 3 :)

Not sure exactly what it stops benefitting, based on the 2nd paragraph from the bottom of 1st column of p4 (ie the shared faction keyword of your army can't be CHAOS, IMPERIUM etc...). I guess it stops you taking an IMPERIAL FIST super heavy in a BLOOD ANGELS list for 1 CP - this would cost 3 - they both share ADEPTUS ASTARTES Faction Keyword so it was legal in 2021 although not under 2022, but they don't have the same Faction keyword of BLOOD ANGELS.

This is actually hitting into a kerb that has been bugging me ever so slightly for months up until the point where I eventually cancelled my (admittedly lowest tier) channel subscription. I 100% don't mind a community element in the videos, but I have felt that the time spent on running through Patreons, discussing Phoenix Lord units and - the big time killer - the amount of time that is being spent deliberating which Patreon die to pick (or finding the die you want to pick on the list) just takes way too heavy a toll on the flow of the videos to the point where it's just not as enjoyable to watch anymore as it used to be.
@@donSinistro87 Perhaps time stamps would be appropriate - I can think of other channels that do it so I know it's possible
Luke I'm sorry for spamming but I'm not getting how you ended up in range of the las rippers in turn 1 I don't think they are 48' like normal las? Is it a tiny board? Or did you deploy too far out
And Tom, eldar codex is good, but pretty tame apart from the Harlequins, nothing like the Tau dex 😆
Las rippers are 36inch range, luke had to deploy close as his guns are only 36inch range sadly this was a whoever gets turn 1 causes huge damage game because the SH can't be hidden. The harlequins sound insane! I'm liking some of the eldar changes to make previously poor units stronger.

Every codex that comes out shows that the SM nerfs after 8th were unwarranted. It is what it is, bad choices were made by GW, but the thing that drives me up the wall is that the SM nerfs will all be reverted in another 9th codex. And then they'll nerf SM all over again for 10th, pulling the same stunt.
I'll be honest, I already stopped buying the 'expansion books' and I'm thinking I'm going to stop paying for codexes.

I finished the video. You really need a transport with firedragons in it, especially now that they can just jump out and delete whatever they want from a turn 1 drop.
I'm not a fan of the forgeworld models. People have redemptors and maybe a Repulsor executioner as their 'heavy' unit. I'm happy to see them be used in a video, they're just not what most people use.
Every battle rep I watch, people massively miss play the wraithknight. He should always have guide on him. Also Heavy Wraithcannon and Sword seems like the best option atm. When accompanied with JZ or an autarch with banshee mask.
Guide only works on core and character.
I love your attitudes for the game, production quality is great, board looks awesome as usual.
But you guys need to cut down the pre game stuff. It takes like 25 minutes to get to turn 1....it's just too much.
