  • ...it depends if the bike thieves are carrying tools , or just opportunists . I should have edited out the strange 5 minutes at the petrol station ....I suspect it was a helmet issue but nobody said anything !?

...I was wondering how it had got so out of control...then remembered Ginger's vet's bill and the new washing machine , which together was almost a grand....so it soon adds up !

You could thread your chain through on old bicycle inner tube 🤔

hi Steve, in one of your vlogs [ anglezark i think ], you mentioned a chap called Ernie, I was just wondering whether it was an old friend of mine who used to travel to the lakes every Saturday from Chorley on the x8 bus. He sadly died 2/3 years ago. Please let me know if this is the same chap.

....no , he's my mum's old boyfriend from around 1957 ....then he dumped her and she married my dad in 1959. When my dad died in 2003 , he reappeared and they've been an item again ever since ! He keeps promising her a luxury holiday cruise....but it's never happened and he's bought premium bonds with all his cash instead - but WHY at 83 years old....?!...which is annoying as my mum deserves a nice holiday .

@@StevesHornet900 thanks for the reply Steve, the Ernie I knew was quite a character, and went to the lakes every sat in the summer, he is sadly missed.

...great idea - my 'Groundhog 3' ground anchor was from a new bike shop in Preston , which had it on offer at £55 ....then the shop closed down ! Branded security items with names , cost a packet , but as you say - a huge chain link concreted in would be a lot cheaper and probably better !

Must be a massive relief not to have the credit card debt Steve. Hopefully you can move on and enjoy life a bit more now. Such a shame to see Dereks pride and joy being stolen, vandalised and dumped. He is very much like you in that he spends a lot of time looking after his bike. I find it hard to swallow that the tw@ts that stole it will probably never be brought to justice. Take care Steve and all the best.

...thanks - yes , it also means I'll be at least £300 a month better off as I wont have any payments to worry about.....so I'm going to get the kitchen window replaced in June or July ! Derek's address was in his video a couple of weeks ago, on a receipt for the cushdrive rubbers ....so maybe the thieves had seen it , if they're local blurts ?
