Unbelievable piece of contemporary art.
Long live the C-64.
Stunning. 30+ year old design, last C-64's were sold in 1991. The best 8-bit computer ever built....... I cannot believe what these guys can do!
1982-1994
I have to admit that this is one of the better C64 demos I have ever seen. Nice effects presented in a original and unique way. This demo actually puts many Amiga demos to shame by a far margin. The clarity and non-mess portrayal of both the graphics and music is what makes this demo shine the way I see it :)
Well at the end, you can hear the .mod file playing in c64. Talk about reverse engineering.
It most definitely is and this is almost 10 years old, i have not seen much on the demoscene that comes close. These guys should try developing a game.
That Comadance part is stunningly great. :D And sweet graphics!
... and lol at the last sample xD
Just impressive! If released 30 years ago you would have probably been hunted and burned for black magic ;)
Wow. That is one of the best demos I've ever seen! So good. Programgasming all over the screen.
Love this demo! I have to say, even as an Amiga fan, the C64 demo scene is just more impressive.
7:12 amazing😏
speechless, took a deep breath, so asskicking cool
The live version is alot better, hearing the crowd roar in excitement on the impressive parts will let you know what feats were created if you're not in "the know" about c64 demos.
Beautiful! :) How did I miss this demo? Nevermind, what's important is that I've watched it. Awesome demo! :)
1:39 what a beatiful SID tune ! Great job
They probably could have earned millions composing music for games in the 80s
Magnificent. Unbelievable. Wow. "Maya war bist du?" LOL
Thanks for the upload.
The magic of dithering. Makes wonders for low color count palettes ;-)
I don't remember having seen something so beautifully done on the C64. And it was my first computer. Congrats, guys, you're amazing !
Bellissimo, superbo, stupendo.
Incredibile ancora oggi si riesca ad andare oltre i limiti già raggiunti sull'intramontabile demo scene del Commodore 64!
Everything's so smooth!
one of the best, dancing man is great
outstanding
Das ist einfach nur toll!!!!!!
Mindblowing! Almost can not believe it is real? Can this actually be running on a real c64??
This one won X14. From a technical point 'Uncensored' by Booze should have won, but if you look at the total package: style, concept, design, music, art and tech then I guess this is a worthy winner.
Awesome!
A M A Z I N G !
Fast nich zu glauben, dass es auf einem C64 läuft. Hätte nicht gedacht, dass man im Vergleich zu früher nochmal so viel mehr aus dem Brotkasten raus holen kann .....
yup, ich denk da geht noch einiges
Really cool!
awesomesauce
Amazing rural fantasy art.

At 6:42, would it be able to rotate on vertical axis I wonder (i.e. to right and left).
I want to recreate the data of a Michael Jackson dance routine and feed it into that comadance stick figure
6:34 reference to coma light 13
@10:41 suddenly Falco
Maja wo bist du?
As cool as these demos are these days, compiling and compressing the code on PC's is just plain cheating. It takes the heart out the complex coding required we had to do in the old days!
If it runs on real hardware it’s not cheating. It’s just better tools. With the logic you are bringing forward we should not have used any art software or assembler back then either. Just punch all the bits in with machine code monitor.
14:16 Where can I download this chiptune?
Läuft das eigentlich auch noch auf einem original c64 oder wird sich hier ggf. die Emulation auch zu nutze gemacht?
Size?
Watch the 50fps version instead
What code and editor did they use to get these graphics? I know Vice is the emulator, but what editor did they use?
Everything was coded in Assembly for 6508, graphics of course was made with programs like Deluxe Paint (This was for Amiga, so probably not this one)
Thanks :)
Graphic tools that have been used for this demo afaik are Pixcen, Timanthes, Pro Motion, Photoshop and Project One.
Incredible! Pure magic! Why don't you build a game for the C64 with the same outstanding characteristics? Make it people.. Even if it spans 10 floppies.. Who cares?
Oxyron made a Donkey Kong port for c64 which is awesome
