Why would they block a trailer?? That seems so counterintuitive.
This trailer is exceedingly misleading to the main plot while also being extremely accurate with the main plot. Ppl might view this and think that, "Oh, this is the main conflict" but it's actually not and it makes me so happy coz ppl don't know what's in store for them yet.
I hope you guys are going to cover this show on your channel. The premiere was two weeks ago and the reactions were VERY positive about the first episode. It's good to note that people that did't liked season 8 of Game of Thrones, REALLY seem to like the first episode of House of the Dragon. one even said this show is better than Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. And Matt Smith is said to be amazing in the show And George RR Martin is also heavily involved in the series. And unlike Game of Thrones, the sourcematerial of House of the Dragon, the book Fire and Blood, is complete, so they have an ending and know where t all has to lead to. I think this show is going to amazing guys!

@@abdelghanimeralet9423 I actually think it’s just an analogy. Not specific but metaphoric. He had a prophecy in a dream. And roaring as one just means war. Same with the hooves. The realm rises. You can hear the sounds of war. It is a dragon in dragon war. Meaning not just literal dragons, but Targaryens. And yes they all roar. At once.
@@abdelghanimeralet9423 it can fit a lot of things actually. when Daenerys' dragons were born, it's said they all roared as one.
They announced at the comic con 17 dragons in the entire series including 9 on the first one.
Really hope you do react to HOT D. Lots of people are skeptical because of s8 & don't wanna give it a chance, but George is involved to help them out, fill in the blanks & come up with the direction they're going for in this show, since the source material is a history book which is an unreliable source of these events. Basically, it's a "here's what really happened" concept.

The problem is the book isn't a story but rather like a history book with events listed and an overview. So they still have to craft a story and all the nuances.
That's not a problem. They have the beats for it. They can choose and construct dialogues from it. Everything that has come out only has positive things.
actually with a format like that, it makes it easier to take liberties with the story.
It's funny. It seems like all the non-book readers haven't seemed that interested, I guess because of how GoT ended. But most book readers have long understood how good this could be, given the story. Like I don't understand how anybody could not be excited about this. But maybe it's just the lack of knowledge about the world.
As someone who listened to the audio book version, I look foward to how the show will take its own spin on portraying the characters. I wanna root for a faction and not feel like this story is a struggle between selfish contenders, as the book made everyone unsympathetic and grey.

Haven’t read books nor was I GOT fan (tried to watch it many times but couldn’t like it) but the trailers for HOTD intrigued me. I watched thinking I wouldn’t like it better than ROP but man was my expectations exceeded and down for ROP. Unlike other people complaining that it has many time jumps and similar names so no attachment to characters, I felt opposite. Understand every name and time jumps. Loved every character.

It does seem like this will be an even harder, darker show than Game of Thrones was overall. Particularly in season 1, GoT was set in summertime and focused a lot on the Starks, so it felt more balanced between the hard, dark, grittiness and the more lighter elements. Then especially in the later seasons, the more fantastical stuff often led to a kind of lighter and softer tone to the show... EXCEPT when Miguel Sapochnik directed. So it makes sense this show is more in the gritty side of things, as that seems to be Sapochnik's style.
Plus GOT was focused A LOT on young children (the starks mainly)
Where this show will have children in it... but they aren't the main focus.
As the two female leads are played by younger and older versions of the characters,
The meat of the show will be focused on older versions of the cast.
Meaning it will be a more mature show overall.
Yeah, even though GOT Season 8 was a dud, I think the team for the show, plus George RR Martin's extensive involvement in this show makes it a winner. Would love to see reactions to this series from you!
My cautious optimism about HotD turned into full-blown excitement when I saw this trailer!

I loved ALL seasons of GOT. I will watch HOD too, because it’s a fantastic story. Just reading it again to get a handle on the characters. It’s a whole separate entity and look fantastic.

This trailer looks badass I can’t wait and never got into the game of thrones never really sat down and saw it but do I need to watch the show to understand this one?
No. But there are plot elements that will be very helpful to know. If us have time to binge. U can in 2 weeks. But u can still enjoy this as a stand alone. I just know there are aspects that will nod to the show

If you're reading this and still unsure about watching this because of the last season of Game of Thrones, bear in mind that the source material that this series is based on is completely finished, George R R Martin pitched this idea to HBO himself, and is at the helm of this project, also bringing in his own creative team, a writer he trusts and the director of Battle of the Bastards and The Long Night, so we should be getting the perfect combo of the writing of the earlier seasons and the cinematography of the later seasons. Plus, dragons bitch.

This is about the first (I think it's the first) Targaryen civil war set about 200 years before the events in game of thrones. GRRM has outlined most of the events and timeline but the dialogue and screenplay will have had to have been done by the writing team. Most of what I have read comes from a kind of history book called Fire and Blood. If done right it should be epic as there are lots of dragons at this point and all the usual GOT political backstabbing is all there. So far it looks great with some great casting choices.

No. That dragon is already dead by this point. The dragon you are thinking of is Balerion. He died not that long before the when this show starts. Hopefully we will get a flashback so we get to see it. This is either vhagar or Caraxes I think. I didn't get a good enough look to see which one. There is going to be some epic dragon fighting action as this goes on including an absolutely epic 1v1 over harranhall.

@@bz6046 you really don't get a great look at the final one but I think it's Vhagar, described as having bronze coloured scales and green eyes. She is the oldest at this point and was one of the Dragons of Aegons sisters, Visenya, from the original conquest. It's hard to tell though.
Caraxes yes is pretty distinctive looking with a long neck and red scales.
The only other shown so far in the trailers is apparently Syrax who has yellow scales.
There's about 20 dragons in total at this time but I highly doubt we'll see them all. 3 of them are wild dragons who live on dragonstone.
I'm hyped even though I hated the eight season GOT is sto one of my favorite series ever. Interesting to see Olivia Cooke in this. She's great in Bates Motel and Sound Of Metal

Actually the conflict is the the kings daughter Rhaenyra and her half brother Aegon II. Rhaenrya is the oldest and did have a brother but he passed, her dad later remarries and they have sons. Hence the conflict on who has the true succession.
This is the Targaryen Civil War also known as the Dance of Dragons. Even though this is the peak of their house, it's also their demise. Family vs family, dragon vs dragon, it will be bloody no matter what. There is at least 17 dragons during this era since it's 200 yrs prior to the events of Game of Thrones.
Don’t spoil it for them please let them be surprised with the story as the episode airs

Am I the only one who thinks the dragons looks WAY too CGI compared to GOT? Even the thumbnail looks kinda goofy...
This is based on Dance of the Dragons, one of the most bloody times in Westeros. It has different and more competent showrunners than GoT, and finished material. You guys are truly sleeping on this. It's much better than the repetitive and mediocre products by Marvel and DC that you guys are used to. Plus GRRM is involved again, the first time after GoT S4.

Speaking of "repetitive", the new showrunners obviously noticed how popular the intrigue & drama of the War of Five Kings was so they picked a NEAR IDENTICAL CONFLICT to focus this series on. That's repetitive my friend, every character in this show is going to be an allusion to, or a version of a GoT character & that's not exactly "original" is it ? Viserys I = Robert Baratheon, Rhaenerya = Dany, Daemon is a cross between Jorah & Drogo, Otto Hightower is Ned/Tywin, Allicent = Cersei, Aegon II = Joffrey, Joffrey (weirdly) = Rhaego... I could go on.

Did the season one GoT trailer get you hyped? Give it a chance. I'm actually more excited for this than I ever was GoT, and I loved that show from beginning to end....despite the rushed job. At least this story is completed so all they need to do is put it on the screen.

To be honest, way better than Game of Thrones
