Is putting a meeple on the start tile unique to this expansion? I’m pretty sure the normal rules are the take a new tile put it next to the start tile and place a meeple on that second tile.

I think Inns and Cathedrals is a good start to Carcassonne. But for gameplay fun, The Princess and The Dragon
