Does my heart good to see the younger generation appreciate real music I saw journey 3 times Steve Perry is my favorite vocalist you guys get it the stuff I just can't call music anybody can do what there doing today so glad I grew up when I did .
I saw Steve Perry at Constitution Hall in Washington DC in 1994. The place only sat 2500 and we were in an upper balcony over the stage, close enough to spit on him if we wanted to. It was AWESOME! After he did his solo songs for about a half hour, a white tuxedo jacket began lowering down from the rafters over the stage on a coat hanger. His Journey jacket! The crowd went nuts when he put it on! Then Neil Schon came on stage with his guitar, and for the next TWO HOURS, it was a Journey concert! Best concert I've EVER seen!
Chris, I saw the exact '94 show of SP in St. Louis. Exact same size building, the American Theater downtown STL. We were 10 rows from stage, there were only about 30 rows. Building had a balcany. The coat they lowered from the ceiling was AMAZING. He was talking to it like where have you been all these years. The place went NUTS when he put it on. My buddies and I were so PUMPED UP. Steve dominated that show 🤗
My cousin Steve Smith was their drummer for Journey from 78- around 85 I believe. He actually returned to play with them for a few years not too long ago. But it didn't work out so he left. Anyway he's a great drummer & good guy. Peace!
No auto tune, real talent. Saw these guys live 5 times. 🎼🎶😎🤘Enjoy your musical ride.Mother Father , same concert, also Stone in love. Steve Perry - one of a kind.
You two Papitos are learning about good honest music, pure vocal range and talent, the use of real vocal control, dynamics etc. Steve Perry is but one such voice,. I could recommend several other bands that featured strong leading vocalists. STYX Kansas Super Tramp Blood, Sweat and Tears ToTo Chicago Three Dog Night Yes America The Association Gary Puckett and The Union Gap Bon Jovi Just to name a few!!!!!!
Steve Perry had the voice Jonathan Cain on piano and Neal Schon as the guitarist Journey was the group back in the days and still strong with Ariel Pineda as lead singer. Next The Eagles Hotel California.
Funny, I wasn't a big Journey fan back in the day, but even I appreciate how good they sound. Steve Perry had a very powerful voice. All major label rock stars back then had to deliver. They simply had to or they wouldn't have made it big. You guys should check out live Bon Jovi. Another one with killer pipes.
I hadn't heard from you guys in a bit. Could you please react to a band named *'Blackfoot'* to represent the American Indian heritage of its members. It's not HQ footage, but still good though. Blackfoot - Highway Song (live '82) ruclips.net/video/sTeUdvGQWo0/видео.html
He had two nicknames: “the voice” and “Mr one take”! He was famous for coming to the studio and completing songs in one take!
Gentlemen, thanks for the great reaction. Good vibe - good thoughts.
No auto tune back then, didnt exist! This is pure talent, better live than in studio!
*MORE* Journey please! 😎
So happy to be a boomer. We had the music.

Enjoyed watching your reaction and comments. One of many greats of that era. I was privileged to grow up in this time.
I second the recommendation for “Mother, Father”. Deep track, with a deep story. Steve Perry’s vocals are even more off the hook on that one!

So true.
You should react to Steve Perry's new song as a solo artist called We're Still Here!

I'm not sure if you're being 100% sincere or just reacting to Baby Boomers greatest hits, but dammit I like everything so far👍👍
