We enjoyed for sure part 1. The lathe you operate is a real joy to us. Your friend is going to be so proud to give these darts a throw, knowing the maker and all. We are hoping he always places the darts in a secure place before drinking too much after the darts throwing ends. Thank you for the video share. Lucky having that sample gold part to help set up the ones you are actually going to be cutting. These two guys are thinking we would as you share you are doing lite cuts time for patients and you will see great repeatable results. Nice match to the original dart. Lance & Patrick.
Nice job :) Very interesting :) I was doing the same job on some other parts where I needed to have the same angle as the part which I choiced to be the example pice. It was nearly impossible. I COULD NOT get it more near than 200'000 !!! So what I did was I did it together with movements on my quick change holder. somehow that did the job.....:)
Not really sure , other than tungsten alloy at 80 % tungsten , machined about as tough as stainless but chipped like cast iron , it was fine though and the finish was superb , Cheers Ade.
yo hi, super fascinated watching this video, I have been trying to think of a way to modify my darts and stumbled across this. How could I contact you to ask for something similar? Can't seem to find anybody with a lathe in my area, not one that size, they all seem to be massive industrial machines that won't take something this small. Or they can't be bothered, not sure.
Ah the good old days playing lawn jarts, dad in the garage at the grinder sharpening up those tips , wouldn’t want tetanus would we. No one to this day admitting to who punctured the pool or the garden hose.
Another job well done! Love, the finished product, and to hit the weight, awesome! I'm a retired toolmaker, and do so enjoy your videos.
Ex toolmaker also . it was a fun little project . Cheers Ade.

Ade, you did a nice job there. I thought tungsten was a little tougher material than that? What is the other material mixed with it? Thanks
