I am new to looking at painting stuff, mainly looking for rust prevention on my first truck. Why cant you do it on the exterior, or rather not recommended?
Pete I like your tips and techniques very much. You are a kind heart, honest man, with tremendous talent. I try to help young people. It is hard to use these videos with the language. Use better language and see your ratings go up. I love you Pete is the only reason I am making the comment.
Thanks for the comments and gestures.. I am who I am and it may bring me down in life to be me but I can't be fake... Sorry you can't share with others.. Take it easy!
Have not painted a car in decades, got interested again and your channel is a huge help. Going to paint a 2003 Mercedes e550 wagon. Bought new guns and accumulating all the supplies i need, watching your videos and trying to get myself semi-prepared.
Hey Pete, I want to thank you for all you are teaching us. I'm restoring a 72 El Camino on a budget and couldn't do it without your videos. I saw there were a few thumbs down comments. Some people are just too dumb to understand and take advantage of the knowledge you share.

Pete I usually don’t comment on these shows. But I do have to with yours. Thank you for teaching me how to paint. I had to paint my Harley 4 times to get it right. But it’s right now and that’s thanks to you and mini.
Great life hack, Pete! I keep coming back to this video for a refresher on your magic mix. Just finished a door and jamb this way; worked like a charm!

wow Pete, You made that look way too easy. I can't believe much the paint looks like the original factory spray inside the hood. I've painted on the assembly line and I know that the process is done in three steps not just two like You did. what a time saver. thanks Pete.
U can talk all day my friend!!! U are a great teacher and a cool guy and much much more! I've seen em all and I keep going back and u have inspired me to paint cars and do good bodywork
Love what you are doing with the " how to's" on bodywork and painting a car. It has given me the courage to prime and paint my 57 Dodge Convertible. John Quinn Arvada. Colorado
WOW, I didn't know that you could mix the clear/base coat like you did. I will be doing that to my old truck door jams here soon. Thanks Pete! You truly are my friend. You don't talk too much by the way..
Iv been thinking about painting cars for a while. I paint steel all the time at work. But never a automobile. I'm gonna do it damn it, your channel helps immensely. Thank you keep it up.
At the beginning of the video, when you explained what you were doing,I thought the coverage of the paint and clear would require 3 or 4 coats minimum. But outside of the small runs,it turned out great. I'll give this a try. Great video.
Not only did I lean something you saved me time and money because that was quick and easy and dang it sure saves a lot of time. Also I enjoy when you go into details it clears everything up for me! Thanks!
very good tip, save money. paint supplies are going up in price all the time, and voc's are making it harder for the diy guy. I love your vids, your keeping the "old school" alive!!
Great video I am going to be painting a bunch of old metal kitchen cabinets from the 1950s and outing them in my garage. I have a couple of old Binks guns that I will be using. Never painted with a good spray gun before besides an old Campbell hausfeld gun from the 80s. Watching your videos inspires me to get out there off the Couch. Go Navy
Again another great time and money saver! I will start restoring my chevy truck this summer. Since i will change the color, doing the engine compartment this way will be fast and effective. Not going to paint the exterior this summer but since i have to remove the fenders and rad support,i will pull the engine out and repaint everything so i will be done with this. next summe i will focus on the exterior. Thankyou Pete!
Looool Yoooo Pete imagine going to a class that the tutor rarely talks or can't explain themselves. I love your content even before when your cuss far more the content is absolutely valuable so keep at it. Thanks from Romell, Enresult Autobody from Barbados.
The old mixing cups can be cleaned out easily by letting leftover paint film inside the cup cure then simply squeeze the plastic cup and 98% of the paint will pop right out of the mixing cup
Thank Pete I tried your system on the underside of a hood I'm working on. Came out Great!! Your right on about the hardener the fist time I mixed it up I put to much and it clumped up while mixing it. Very little harder and was good to go. You give great advice Thanks Again Bob
I really enjoy your diyautoschool series. I'm getting ready to restore my daily driver. 85 F250 4X4, that has 340,000 miles on it. I already have a parts truck that's gonna donate its cab but, it has dents on the corner of the cab in the left side near the rear window glass and half way down the door. Evidently someone was using it as a cab and chassis with a fifth wheel on the back and jackknifed a trailer. My current cab has the floors rotted out and the cab has dropped two inches in the front. I would rather straighten dents on the donor cab than replace a whole floor.
Great tip wish I would have learned this a week ago when I had to paint under my hood. It's got base but no clear coat yet. Now I have to go back to my brothers garage get set up again for 2 ministers work. Lol, thanks Pete

I've wondered if it was possible to mix the two now I know and I'm definitely going to be doing it. Thanks Pete and keep on talking it's usually educational or comical either way it's all good.
Thanks for the info. I always wondered if you could add clear to basecoat with hardener. That would save a lot of time and you only have to clean your gun once.
Great job dude I appreciate the little tidbits you've had to learn the hard way makes life easier for guys like myself and hadn't really done it that much keep on with the good work Buddy Mooresville North Carolina

great tip pete👌. I watch your video's from time to time, and am always informed, and get a good laugh when you tell people off. keep up the good work, and I will try that on some inner fenders that I'm shooting.
My buddies dad did the clear coat, base coat mix on his 57 Ford Retractable. It came out pretty good, and the first thing he told us, kids don't try this at home!
I know I'm in the right place!!! Question My Friend Pete, the left over mixed paint from the fender, what to do with it? Save it, pour it, or what. Being a DIY rookie painter, I suffer from over do it syndrome. Worried to run out and screw up the second mix and she don't match. What ya got to help, or just keep at it and practice?
Good video. You talk and show the paint process which is great, but if I pick up a bare door how do I prepare the inner door jam area before performing your process with the paint ? Or am I taking this wrong. I mean can I just clean the jam then apply the paint without sanding ect.. Thanks Steve

Is this what I should do to paint my engine compartment?
Great video. I remember you did a similar video on a car door. Single stage brown I think.
Amazeing Pete you can tell how much pressure coming out of the guns I think it is I would have to look at a guage.

Great vid. Im a home gamer from the great white north HI RUST area! Would it be better to totally paint the inside of the fender.

short. sweet. and to the point. You have to love it
I am painting a 68 ford falcon black cherry metallic. I have the doors, fenders, hood, trunk and glass out of it. I think it best to spray it all together in my situation but would like to do the insides of everything and jambs prior to assembling and final paint. Would you suggest this in my situation? What is the ratio of clear to base if so? Thanks Pete!
Thanks for what you do pete. I have a question though.
Since you didn't tape off the outside of the fender, how do you prep it for paint? Won't there be contaminants on it from the overspray?
Love you brother doung a great job .I am glad that you take time to. Teach us on what you know to us dummies
Awesome tip Pete! Your doing a great job! Learned a shit ton from your channels!
