The path of the priesthood is the mastery of God's presence. A constant sense of God's presence characterizes it as a way of life. The priest is expected to be a man who is constantly in God's presence, who lives in the light of God's love, and who aspires to enlighten others.
It takes practice to become a master of God's presence. It necessitates a lifetime dedication to meditation, prayer, and Bible study. It also necessitates a readiness to relinquish one's own ego and submit to God's will.
One of the greatest forces for good in the world is the priest who has mastered the presence of God. He has the power to comfort the hurting and heal them. He has the power to motivate people to lead holy and moral lives. He has the capacity to spread the light of Christ throughout the darkened world.
I recommend pursuing the mastery of God's presence if you are called to the priesthood. It is the secret to living a happy, peaceful, and fulfilling life.
